An RPC-PET brain scanner demonstrator: first results

We present first results from a Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scanner demonstrator based on Resistive Plate Chambers and specialized for brain imaging. The device features a 30 cm wide cubic field-of-view and each detector comprises 40 gas gaps with 3D location of the interaction point of the photon. Besides other imagery, we show that the reconstructed image resolution, as evaluated by a hot-rod phantom, is sub-millimetric, which is beyond the state-of-the-art of the standard PET technology for this application.

Entangled States and the Gravitational Quantum Well

We study the continuous variable entanglement of a system of two particles under the influence of Earth's gravitational field. We determine a phase-space description of this bipartite system by calculating its Wigner function and verify its entanglement by applying a generalization of the PPT criterion for non-Gaussian states. We also examine the influence of gravity on an idealized entanglement protocol to be shared between stations at different potentials based on the correlation of states of the gravitational quantum well.

Augmenting Customer Journey Maps with quantitative empirical data: a case on EEG and eye tracking

This paper introduces the use of electroencephalography (EEG) and eye tracking in exploring customer experiences in service design. These tools are expected to allow designers to generate customer journeys from empirical data leading to new visualization methods and therefore improvements in service design deliverables.
