Nuclear Symmetry Energy and Neutron Skin Thickness of $^{208}Pb $ using a finite range effective interaction

We use a finite range simple effective interaction to construct nuclear equations of state for the study of the density dependence of the nuclear symmetry energy. The EoSs provide good descriptions of the nuclear symmetry energy at a subsaturation density $ρ_c=0.11$ fm$^{-3}$ and at a density around two times the saturation density $ρ_0$. We obtain a correlation between the neutron skin thickness in $^{208}$Pb and the density slope parameter at the subsaturation density. A linear relation is obtained between the neutron skin thickness and the parameter $β^{\prime}=\frac{L(ρ_c)}{3E_s(ρ_0)}$, where $E_s(ρ_0)$ and $L(ρ_c)$ are respectively the nuclear symmetry energy at saturation density and the density slope parameter at the subsaturation density.

Investigating the physical and geometrical parameters of the cosmological models with anisotropic background

In this paper, we have investigated some accelerating cosmological models at the backdrop of an anisotropic metric in an extended gravity theory. Two viable cosmological models one with a little rip behaviour and the other with a hyperbolic form of Hubble parameter have been constructed. The dynamical aspects of the models along with some physical and geometrical parameters are analysed. Both the models presented here evolve in the phantom-like region and overlap with $Λ$CDM model at late times. We carried out a geometrical diagnosis of the model to show the viability of the models.

Magnetized cosmological model with variable deceleration parameter

In this paper, we have derived the field equations in an extended theory of gravity in an anisotropic space time background and in the presence of magnetic field. The physical and geometrical parameters of the models are determined with respect to the Hubble parameter using some algebraic approaches. A time varying scale factor has been introduced to analyze the behavior of the model. From some diagnostic approach, we found that the model behaves as $Λ_{CDM}$ model at late time of cosmic evolution.

Unified Dark Fluid and Cosmic Transit Models in Brans-Dicke Theory

Some dark energy cosmological models are constructed in the framework of a generalised Brans-Dicke theory which contains a self interacting potential and a dynamical coupling parameter. The dark sector of the universe is considered through a unified linear equation of state. The parameters of the unified dark fluid have been constrained from some physical basis. Since the universe is believed to have undergone a transition from an early deceleration to a late time acceleration, the deceleration parameter should have a signature flipping behaviour at the transition redshift. We have used a hybrid scale factor to simulate the dynamical behaviour of the deceleration parameter. Basing upon the observational constraints on the transition redshift, we have constructed four different transitioning dark energy models. The constructed models are confronted with observational data. For all the models, the behaviour of the dynamical scalar field, Brans-Dicke parameter, Self interacting potential are investigated. Also, on the basis of the generalised Brans-Dicke theory, we have estimated the time variation of the Newtonian gravitational constant.

Gravastar under the framework of Braneworld Gravity

Gravastars have been considered as a serious alternative to black holes in the past couple of decades. Stable models of gravastar have been constructed in many of the alternate gravity models besides standard General Relativity (GR). The Randall-Sundrum (RS) braneworld model has been a popular alternative to GR, specially in the cosmological and astrophysical context. Here we consider a gravastar model in RS brane gravity. The mathematical solutions in different regions have been obtained along with calculation of matching conditions. Various important physical parameters for the shell have been calculated and plotted to see their variation with radial distance. We also calculate and plot the surface redshift to check the stability of the gravastar within the purview of RS brane gravity.

Bouncing scenario in $f(R,T)$ gravity

The present manuscript presents modeling of matter bounce in the framework of $f(R,T)$ gravity where $f(R,T) = R + 2 λT$. We start by defining a parametrization of scale factor which is non-vanishing. The geometrical parameters such as the Hubble parameter and deceleration parameter are derived, from which expressions of pressure, density and Equation of State (EoS) parameter and a qualitative understanding of the initial conditions of the universe at the bounce are ascertained. We found that the initial conditions of the universe are finite owing to the non-vanishing nature of the scale factor thus eliminates the initial singularity problem. Furthermore, we show the violation of energy conditions near the bouncing region and analyzed the stability of our model with respect to linear homogeneous perturbations in Friedmann-Lematre-Robertson-Walker (FLRW) spacetime. We found that our model and hence matter bounce scenarios in general are highly unstable at the bounce in the framework of $f(R,T)$ gravity but the perturbations decay out rapidly away from the bounce safeguarding its stability at late times.

Phantom cosmology in an Extended Theory of Gravity

Some phantom cosmological models without big rip singularity have been constructed in a simple extended theory of gravity. In the geometrical part of the action, a minimally coupled linear function of the Ricci Scalar and the trace of the energy momentum tensor have been considered in place of the Ricci scalar. Four Little Rip and Pseudo Rip models have been investigated where the equation of state parameter evolves asymptotically and sufficiently rapidly to $-1$. The effect of the coupling constant of the extended gravity theory on the dynamics has been discussed. Possible wormhole solutions for the phantom models are obtained. The possibility of Big Trip in wormholes are discussed for the models.

Accelerating models with a hybrid scale factor in extended gravity

Dynamical aspects of cosmological model in an extended gravity theory have been investigated in the present work. We have adopted a simplified approach to obtain cosmic features, which in fact requires more involved calculations. A cosmological model is constructed using a hybrid scale factor that simulates a cosmic transit behaviour. The deceleration parameter and energy conditions have been obtained for the constructed model. Scalar fields have been reconstructed from the present model in the extended gravity. Different diagnostic methods have been applied to analyse the viability of the constructed model. The present model almost looks like a cosmological constant for a substantial cosmic time zone and does not show any slowing down feature in near future.

Axially magnetized Dark Energy cosmological model

We investigate the behaviour of the skewness parameters for an anisotropic universe in the framework of General Relativity. Non interacting dark energy is considered in presence of electromagnetic field. A time varying deceleration parameter simulated by a hybrid scale factor is considered. The dynamics of the universe is investigated in presence and absence of magnetic field. The equation of state parameter of dark energy evolves within the range predicted by the observations. Magnetic field is observed to have a substantial effect on the cosmic dynamics and the skewness parameters. The models discussed here end in a big rip and become isotropic at finite time.

Calculating charged particle observables using modified Wood Saxon model in HIJING for U+U collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 193 GeV

We have implemented spherical harmonics in default Wood Saxon distribution of the HIJING model and calculated various physical observables such as transverse momentum, charged particle multiplicity, nuclear modification factor and particle ratios for charged particles at top RHIC energy with collisions of Uranium (U) nuclei. Results have been compared with available experimental data. We observe that, a particular type of collision configuration can produce significant magnitude change in observables. We have noticed that the tip-tip configuration shows higher magnitude of particle yield in central collisions, while the body-body configuration shows higher value in the cases of peripheral collisions, with the flip in the trend occurring for the mid-central U+U collisions. We observe that particle ratios are independent of configuration type.

Anisotropic cosmological reconstruction in $f(R,T)$ gravity

Anisotropic cosmological models are constructed in $f(R,T)$ gravity theory to investigate the dynamics of universe concerning the late time cosmic acceleration. Using a more general and simple approach, the effect of the coupling constant and anisotropy on the cosmic dynamics have been investigated. Cosmic anisotropy is found affect substantially the cosmic dynamics.

A periodic varying deceleration parameter in $f(R,T)$ gravity

The phenomenon of accelerated expansion of the present universe and a cosmic transit aspect is explored in the framework of a modified gravity theory known as $f(R,T)$ gravity (where $R$ is the Ricci scalar and $T$ is the trace of the energy momentum tensor of the matter content). The cosmic transit phenomenon signifies a signature flipping behaviour of the deceleration parameter. We employ a periodic varying deceleration parameter and obtained the exact solution of field equations. The dynamical features of the model including the oscillatory behaviour of the EOS parameter are studied. We have also explored the obvious violation of energy momentum conservation in $f(R,T)$ gravity. The periodic behaviour of energy conditions for the model are also discussed with a wide range of the free parameters.

Application of Nilsson model for deformed nucleus in relativistic heavy ion collisions

Electron scattering methods, involving nucleus which have little or no intrinsic deformation suggest nucleon distribution to be of Fermi type. This distribution is further parameterised as Wood Saxon (WS) distribution, where an uniform charge density with smoothed-out surface have been implemented. Incorporating shape modification in WS, earlier attempts were made to explain observables in deformed nuclear collisions, such as charged particle multiplicity. In this work, we use an alternate approach known as Nilsson model or Modified Harmonic Oscillator (MHO), to explain charged particle multiplicity in U+U collisions at top RHIC energy. We have implemented the formalism in HIJING model and we found that the model describes the experimental data to an extent.

Bianchi-V String Cosmological model with Dark Energy Anisotropy

The role of anisotropic components on the dark energy and the dynamics of the universe is investigated. An anisotropic dark energy fluid with different pressures along different spatial directions is assumed to incorporate the effect of anisotropy. One dimensional cosmic strings aligned along x-direction supplement some kind of anisotropy. Anisotropy in the dark energy pressure is found to evolve with cosmic expansion at least at late times. At an early phase, the anisotropic effect due to the cosmic strings substantially affect the dynamics of the accelerating universe.

Cosmological models with a hybrid scale factor in an extended gravity theory

A general formalism to investigate Bianchi type $VI_h$ universes is developed in an extended theory of gravity. A minimally coupled geometry and matter field is considered with a rescaled function of $f(R,T)$ substituted in place of the Ricci scalar $R$ in the geometrical action. Dynamical aspects of the models are discussed by using a hybrid scale factor that behaves as power law in an initial epoch and as an exponential form at late epoch. The power law behaviour and the exponential behaviour appear as two extreme cases of the present model.

Dynamical features of an anisotropic cosmological model

The dynamical features of Bianchi type $VI_h$ $(BVI_h)$ universe are investigated in $f(R,T)$ theory of gravity. The field equations and the physical properties of the model are derived considering a power law expansion of the universe. The effect of anisotropy on the dynamics of the universe as well on the energy conditions are studied. The assumed anisotropy of the model is found to have substantial effects on the energy condition and dynamical parameters.

Two fluid anisotropic dark energy models in a scale invariant theory

Some anisotropic Bianchi V dark energy models are investigated in a scale invariant theory of gravity. We consider two non interacting fluids such as dark energy and a bulk viscous fluid. Dark energy pressure is considered to be anisotropic in different spatial directions. A dynamically evolving pressure anisotropy is obtained from the models. The models favour phantom behaviour. It is observed that, in presence of dark energy, bulk viscosity has no appreciable affect on the cosmic dynamics.

Azimuthal correlations of D-mesons in $p$+$p$ and $p$+Pb collisions at LHC energies

We study the correlations of D mesons produced in $p$+$p$ and $p$+Pb collisions. These are found to be sensitive to the effects of the cold nuclear medium and the transverse momentum ($p_T$) regions we are looking into. In order to put this on a quantitative footing, as a first step we analyse the azimuthal correlations of D meson-charged hadron(Dh), and then predict the same for D meson -anti D meson ($D\overline{D}$) pairs in $p$+$p$ and $p$+Pb collisions with strong coupling at leading order $\cal{O}$($α_{s}^{2}$) and next to leading order $\cal{O}$($α_{s}^{3}$) which includes space-time evolution (in both systems), as well cold nuclear matter effects (in $p$+Pb). This also sets the stage and baseline for the identification and study of medium modification of azimuthal correlations in relativistic collision of heavy nuclei at the Large Hadron Collider.
