Characterization of Thermalization Behaviour in a Generalized Aubry-Andr\'e Model

Although random matrix theory provides a fundamental framework for characterizing quantum chaos, encompassing both ergodic and localized phases, a comprehensive understanding of the universal features governing the critical transition remains elusive in many disordered and quasi-random systems. In this study, we explore the ergodic-to-many-body localization transition in the generalized Aubry-Andr\'e model with interacting spinless fermions. Using the concept of Frobenius norm of an adiabatic gauge potential, we construct a phase diagram that captures the sensitivity of the eigenspectrum to infinitesimal adiabatic gauge deformations. To examine the stability of the critical disordered strength with respect to system size, we perform an unbiased finite-size scaling analysis via cost-function minimization techniques. Additionally, by analyzing the adjacent gap ratio and spectral form factor, we determine the scaling behavior of the Thouless time as a function of the disorder strength.

Lower bound of quantum uncertainty from extractable classical information

The sum of entropic uncertainties for the measurement of two non-commuting observables is not always reduced by the amount of entanglement (quantum memory) between two parties, and in certain cases may be impacted by quantum correlations beyond entanglement (discord). An optimal lower bound of entropic uncertainty in the presence of any correlations may be determined by fine-graining. Here we express the uncertainty relation in a new form where the maximum possible reduction of uncertainty is shown to be given by the extractable classical information. We show that the lower bound of uncertainty matches with that using fine-graining for several examples of two-qubit pure and mixed entangled states, and also separable states with non-vanishing discord. Using our uncertainty relation we further show that even in the absence of any quantum correlations between the two parties, the sum of uncertainties may be reduced with the help of classical correlations.

Uncovering a Nonclassicality of the Schrödinger Coherent State up to the Macro-Domain

The Leggett-Garg inequality (LGI), based on the notions of realism and noninvasive measurability, is applied in the context of a linear harmonic oscillator. It is found that merely through observing at various instants which region of the potential well, the oscillating quantum object is in, the LGI can be violated without taking recourse to any ancillary quantum system. Strikingly, this violation reveals an unexplored nonclassicality of the state which is considered the most "classical-like" of all quantum states, namely the Schrödinger coherent state. In the macrolimit, the extent to which such nonclassicality persists for large values of mass and classical amplitudes of oscillation is quantitatively investigated. It is found that while for any given mass and oscillator frequency, a significant quantum violation of LGI can be obtained by suitably choosing the initial peak momentum of the coherent state wave packet, as the mass is sufficiently increased, actual observability of this violation becomes increasingly difficult. A feasible experimental setup for testing the predicted quantum mechanical violation of LGI is suggested using a trapped nano-object of $\sim 10^6-10^9$ amu mass.

Detecting mixedness of qutrit systems using the uncertainty relation

We show that the uncertainty relation as expressed in the Robertson-Schrodinger generalized form can be used to detect the mixedness of three-level quantum systems in terms of measureable expectation values of suitably chosen observables when prior knowledge about the basis of the given state is known. In particular, we demonstrate the existence of observables for which the generalized uncertainty relation is satisfied as an equality for pure states and a strict inequality for mixed states corresponding to single as well as bipartite sytems of qutrits. Examples of such observables are found for which the magnitude of uncertainty is proportional to the linear entropy of the system, thereby providing a method for measuring mixedness.

The role of quantum discord in reduction of the lower bound of entropic uncertainty relation in presence of quantum memory

The uncertainty of measurement on a quantum system can be reduced in presence of quantum memory [M. Berta et. al. Nature Phys. {\bf 6}, 659 (2010)]. By measurement on quantum memory, some information (non-classical information) is inaccessible, hence, it limits the lower bound of entropic uncertainty relation. In the present work, we improve the lower bound of entropic uncertainty relation in presence of quantum memory by considering inaccessibility of non classical correlation at Bob side and also compare the lower bound given by M. Berta et. al. and our prescription for two different kind of shared bipartite state.

Vacuumless topological defects in Lyra geometry

Few years ago, Cho and Vilenkin have proposed that topological defects can arise in symmetry breaking models without having degenerate vacua. These types of defects are known as vacuumless defects. In the present work, the gravitational field of a vacuumless global string and global monopole have been investigated in the context of Lyra geometry. We find the metric of the vacuumless global string and global monopole in the weak field approximations. It has been shown that the vacuumless global string can have repulsive whereas global monopole exerts attractive gravitational effects on a test particle. It is dissimilar to the case studied in general relativity.

A study of global monopole in Lyra geometry

A class of exact static solution around a global monopole resulting from the breaking of a global S0(3) symmetry is obtained in the context of Lyra geometry. Our solution is shown to possess an interesting feature like wormholes space-time. It has been shown that the global monopole exerts no gravitational force on surrounding non-relativistic matter.

Raman Measurements and Stress Analysis in Gallium Ion Implanted Gallium Nitride Epitaxial Layers on Sapphire

In this article, we estimate hydrostatic stress developed in gallium ion implanted gallium nitride epitaxial layers using Raman measurements. We have calculated deformation potential constants for $E_2$(high) mode in these epi-layers. The presence of a polar phonon-plasmon coupling in these systems has also been demonstrated. In as-implanted samples, with an increase in implantation fluence, we have observed disorder-activated Raman scattering.
