Effective Schroedinger equation with general ordering ambiguity position-dependent mass Morse potential

We solve the parametric generalized effective Schrödinger equation with a specific choice of posi-tion-dependent mass function and Morse oscillator potential by means of the Nikiforov-Uvarov (NU) method combined with the Pekeris approximation scheme. All bound-state energies are found explicitly and all corresponding radial wave functions are built analytically. We choose the Weyl or Li and Kuhn ordering for the ambiguity parameters in our numerical work to calculate the energy spectrum for a few and diatomic molecules with arbitrary vibration and rotation quantum numbers and different position-dependent mass functions. Two special cases including the constant mass and the vibration s-wave (l =0) are also investigated.

Approximate k-state solutions to the Dirac-Yukawa problem based on the spin and pseudospin symmetry

Using an approximation scheme to deal with the centrifugal (pseudo-centrifugal) term, we solve the Dirac equation with the screened Coulomb (Yukawa) potential for any arbitrary spin-orbit quantum number κ. Based on the spin and pseudospin symmetry, analytic bound state energy spectrum formulas and their corresponding upper- and lower-spinor components of two Dirac particles are obtained using a shortcut of the Nikiforov-Uvarov method. We find a wide range of permissible values for the spin symmetry constant C_{s} from the valence energy spectrum of particle and also for pseudospin symmetry constant C_{ps} from the hole energy spectrum of antiparticle. Further, we show that the present potential interaction becomes less (more) attractive for a long (short) range screening parameter α. To remove the degeneracies in energy levels we consider the spin and pseudospin solution of Dirac equation for Yukawa potential plus a centrifugal-like term. A few special cases such as the exact spin (pseudospin) symmetry Dirac-Yukawa, the Yukawa plus centrifugal-like potentials, the limit when α becomes zero (Coulomb potential field) and the non-relativistic limit of our solution are studied. The nonrelativistic solutions are compared with those obtained by other methods.

A study of quantum pseudodot system with a two-dimensional pseudoharmonic potential using Nikiforov-Uvarov method

We use the Nikiforov-Uvarov method to calculate the bound states (energy spectra and wave functions) of a two-dimensional (2D) electron gas interacted with an exactly solvable pseudoharmonic confinement potential in a strong uniform magentic field inside dot and Aharonov-Bohm flux field inside a pseudodot. We give a unified treatment for both Schrödinger and spin-0 Klein-Gordon energy spectrum and wave functions as functions of chemical potential parameter, magnetic field strength, AB flux field and magnetic quantum number. We obtain analytic expression for the light interband absorption coefficient and threshold frequency of absorption as functions of applied magnetic field and geometrical size of quantum pseudodot. The temperature dependence energy levels for GaAs are also calculated.

Approximated l-states of the Manning-Rosen potential by Nikiforov-Uvarov method

The approximately analytical bound state solutions of the l-wave Schrödinger equation for the Manning-Rosen (MR) potential are carried out by a proper approximation to the centrifugal term. The energy spectrum formula and normalized wave functions expressed in terms of the Jacobi polynomials are both obtained for the application of the Nikiforov-Uvarov (NU) method to the Manning-Rosen potential. To show the accuracy of our results, we calculate the eigenvalues numerically for arbitrary quantum numbers n and l with two different values of the potential parameter α. It is found that our results are in good agreement with the those obtained by other methods for short potential range, small l and α. Two special cases are investigated like the s-wave case and Hulthén potential case.

Bound states of the Klein-Gordon equation in D-dimensions with some physical scalar and vector exponential-type potentials including orbital centrifugal term

The approximate analytic bound state solutions of the Klein-Gordon equation with equal scalar and vector exponential-type potentials including the centrifugal potential term are obtained for any arbitrary orbital angular momentum number l and dimensional space D. The relativistic/non-relativistic energy spectrum equation and the corresponding unnormalized radial wave functions, in terms of the Jacobi polynomials P_{n}^{(α,β)}(z), where α>-1, β>-1 and z\in[-1,+1] or the generalized hypergeometric functions _{2}F_{1}(a,b;c;z), are found. The Nikiforov-Uvarov (NU) method is used in the solution. The solutions of the Eckart, Rosen-Morse, Hulthén and Woods-Saxon potential models can be easily obtained from these solutions. Our results are identical with those ones appearing in the literature. Finally, under the PT-symmetry, we can easily obtain the bound state solutions of the trigonometric Rosen-Morse potential.

Bound state energies and wave functions of spherical quantum dots in presence of a confining potential model

We obtain the exact energy spectra and corresponding wave functions of the radial Schrödinger equation (RSE) for any (n,l) state in the presence of a combination of psudoharmonic, Coulomb and linear confining potential terms using an exact analytical iteration method. The interaction potential model under consideration is Cornell-modified plus harmonic (CMpH) type which is a correction form to the harmonic, Coulomb and linear confining potential terms. It is used to investigates the energy of electron in spherical quantum dot and the heavy quarkonia (QQ-onia).

On the bound-state solutions of the Manning-Rosen potential including improved approximation to the orbital centrifugal term

The approximate analytical bound state solution of the Schrödinger equation for the Manning-Rosen potential is carried out by taking a new approximation scheme to the orbital centrifugal term. The Nikiforov-Uvarov method is used in the calculations. We obtain analytic forms for the energy eigenvalues and the corresponding normalized wave functions in terms of the Jacobi polynomials or hypergeometric functions for different screening parameters 1/b. The rotational-vibrational energy states for a few diatomic molecules are calculated for arbitrary quantum numbers n and l with different values of the potential parameter α. The present numerical results agree within five decimal digits with the previously reported results for different 1/b values. A few special cases of the s-wave (l=0) Manning-Rosen potential and the Hulthén potential are also studied. An approximate κ state solutions of the Dirac equation for the generalized Morse potential under spin and pseudospin symmetry

By using an improved approximation scheme to deal with the centrifugal (pseudo-centrifugal) term, we solve the Dirac equation for the generalized Morse potential with arbitrary spin-orbit quantum number κ. In the presence of spin and pseudospin symmetry, the analytic bound state energy eigenvalues and the associated upper- and lower-spinor components of two Dirac particles are found by using the basic concepts of the Nikiforov-Uvarov method. We study the special cases when κ=\pm1 (l=l=0, s-wave), the non-relativistic limit and the limit when α becomes zero (Kratzer potential model). The present solutions are compared with those obtained by other methods. Keywords: Dirac equation, spin symmetry, pseudospin symmetry, generalized Morse potential,

Approximate bound state solutions of Dirac equation with Hulthén potential including Coulomb-like tensor potential

We solve the Dirac equation approximately for the attractive scalar $S(r)$ and repulsive vector $V(r)$ Hulthén potentials including a Coulomb-like tensor potential with arbitrary spin-orbit coupling quantum number $κ.$ In the framework of the spin and pseudospin symmetric concept, we obtain the analytic energy spectrum and the corresponding two-component upper- and lower-spinors of the two Dirac particles by means of the Nikiforov-Uvarov method in closed form. The limit of zero tensor coupling and the non-relativistic solution are obtained. The energy spectrum for various levels is presented for several $κ$ values under the condition of exact spin symmetry in the presence or absence of tensor coupling.

Solutions of the spatially-dependent mass Dirac equation with the spin and pseudo-spin symmetry for the Coulomb-like potential

We study the effect of spatially dependent mass function over the solution of the Dirac equation with the Coulomb potential in the (3+1)-dimensions for any arbitrary spin-orbit $κ$ state$.$ In the framework of the spin and pseudospin symmetry concept, the analytic bound state energy eigenvalues and the corresponding upper and lower two-component spinors of the two Dirac particles are obtained by means of the Nikiforov-Uvarov method, in closed form. This physical choice of the mass function leads to an exact analytical solution for the pseudospin part of the Dirac equation. The special cases $% κ=\pm 1$ ($l=\widetilde{l}=0,$ i.e., s-wave)$,$ the constant mass and the non-relativistic limits are briefly investigated.

Approximate analytic solutions of the diatomic molecules in the Schrodinger equation with hyperbolical potentials

The Schrodinger equation for the rotational-vibrational (ro-vibrational) motion of a diatomic molecule with empirical potential functions is solved approximately by means of the Nikiforov-Uvarov method. The approximate ro-vibratinal energy spectra and the corresponding normalized total wavefunctions are calculated in closed form and expressed in terms of the hypergeometric functions or Jacobi polynomials P_{n}^{(μ,ν)}(x), where μ>-1, ν>-1 and x included in [-1,+1]. The s-waves analytic solution is obtained. The numerical energy eigenvalues for selected H_{2} and Ar_{2} molecules are also calculated and compared with the previous models and experiments.

Any l-state approximate solutions of the Manning-Rosen potential by the Nikiforov-Uvarov method

The Schrodinger equation for the Manning-Rosen potential with the centrifugal term is solved approximately to obtain bound states energies. Additionally, the corresponding wave functions are expressed by the Jacobi polynomials. The Nikiforov-Uvarov (NU) method is used in the calculations. Approximate analytical solutions of the generalized Woods-Saxon potentials including the spin-orbit coupling term and spin symmetry

We study the approximate analytical solutions of the Dirac equation for the generalized Woods-Saxon potential with the pseudo-centrifugal term. In the framework of the spin and pseudospin symmetry concept, the approximately analytical bound state energy eigenvalues and the corresponding upper- and lower-spinor components of the two Dirac particles are obtained, in closed form, by means of the Nikiforov-Uvarov method which is based on solving the second-order linear differential equation by reducing it to a generalized equation of hypergeometric type. The special cases $κ=\pm 1$ ($l=% \widetilde{l}=0,$ s-wave) and the non-relativistic limit can be reached easily and directly for the generalized and standard Woods-Saxon potentials. Also, the non-relativistic results are compared with the other works.

Non-relativistic quark-antiquark potential: spectroscopy of heavy-quarkonia and exotic SUSY quarkonia

The experiments at LHC have shown that the SUSY (exotic) bound states are likely to form bound states in an entirely similar fashion as ordinary quarks form bound states, i.e., quarkonium. Also, the interaction between two squarks is due to gluon exchange which is found to be very similar to that interaction between two ordinary quarks. This motivates us to solve the Schrödinger equation with a strictly phenomenological static quark-antiquark potential: $V(r)=-Ar^{-1}+κ\sqrt{r}+V_{0}$ using the shifted large $N$-expansion method to calculate the low-lying spectrum of a heavy quark with anti-sbottom\textbf{\}$(c\bar{\widetilde{b}},b% \bar{\widetilde{b}})$ and sbottom with anti-sbottom $(\widetilde{b}% \bar{\widetilde{b}})$ bound states with $m_{\widetilde{b}}$ is set free. To have a full knowledge on spectrum, we also give the result for a heavier as well as for lighter sbottom masses. As a test for the reliability of these calculations, we fix the parameters of this potential by fitting the spin-triplet $(n^{3}S_{1})$ and center-of-gravity $l\neq 0$ experimental spectrum of the ordinary heavy quarkonia $c\bar{c},c\bar{b}$ and $b% \bar{b}$ to few $\mathrm{MeV.}$ Our results are compared with other models to gauge the reliability of these predictions and point out differences.

Exact Klein-Gordon equation with spatially-dependent masses for unequal scalar-vector Coulomb-like potentials

We study the effect of spatially dependent mass functions over the solution of the Klein-Gordon equation in the (3+1)-dimensions for spinless bosonic particles where the mixed scalar-vector Coulomb-like field potentials and masses are directly proportional and inversely proportional to the distance from force center. The exact bound state energy eigenvalues and the corresponding wave functions of the Klein-Gordon equation for mixed scalar-vector and pure scalar Coulomb-like field potentials are obtained by means of the Nikiforov-Uvarov (NU) method. The energy spectrum is discussed for different scalar-vector potential mixing cases and also for constant mass case.

An improved approximation scheme for the centrifugal term and the Hulthen potential

We present a new approximation scheme for the centrifugal term to solve the Schrodinger equation with the Hulthen potential for any arbitrary l state by means of a mathematical Nikiforov-Uvarov (NU) method. We obtain the bound state energy eigenvalues and the normalized corresponding eigenfunctions expressed in terms of the Jacobi polynomials or hypergeometric functions for a particle exposed to this potential field. Our numerical results of the energy eigenvalues are found to be in high agreement with those results obtained by using the program based on a numerical integration procedure. The s-wave (l=0) analytic solution for the binding energies and eigenfunctions of a particle are also calculated. The physical meaning of the approximate analytical solution is discussed. The present approximation scheme is systematic and accurate.
