Order parameter and spectral function in $d$-wave holographic superconductors

We consider the $d$-wave holographic superconductor model with full backreaction on the metric, addressing a missing part in the literature. We have identified the corrected order parameter by comparing the fermionic spectral function with the momentum-dependent order parameter. By numerical investigations of the fermionic spectral function in the presence of a tensor condensate, we find the Fermi arc and the gapped behavior, which closely resemble ARPES data. Moreover, we have examined the influence of the coupling constant, chemical potential, and temperature on the spectral function. We find that $d$-wave fermionic spectral function can be obtained through $p_x$ and $p_y$ condensates combined with two fermion flavors. Similarly, combining $d_{x^2-y^2}$ and $d_{xy}$ orbitals symmetry with two fermion flavors leads to a $g$-wave spectral function.

Scaling dimension of Cooper pair operator from the black hole interior

We have shown that in holographic superconductivity theory for 3+1 dimensional system, the scaling dimension of Cooper pair operator can be obtained as a quantized value if we request that the the scalar function describing the order parameter is finite inside the black hole as well as outside. This should be contrasted to the usual situation where we set the mass squared of the scalar by hand. Our method can be applied to any order parameters.

Fermi arc in $p$-wave holographic superconductors

We have investigated the fermionic spectral function in $p$-wave holographic superconductors. We show that the vector model with minimal coupling reveals a $p$-wave spectral function with Fermi arc. This should be contrasted with the previous investigation where $p$-wave arc was demonstrated in the presence of a tensor field. We study the momentum dependent order parameter, the $ω$-gap in the real part of the conductivity and the fermion spectral function. In addition, we juxtapose the fermionic spectral gap with the order parameter in the holographic set. We demonstrate the impact of coupling constants, temperature and chemical potential on the spectral function.

Momentum dependent gap in holographic superconductors revisited

We reconsider the angular dependence in gap structure of holographic superconductors, which has not been treated carefully so far. For the vector field model, we show that the normalizable ground state is in the p-wave state because s-wave state is not normalizable. On the other hand, in the scalar order model, the ground state is in the $s$-wave. The angle dependent gap function is explicitly constructed in these models. We also suggest the modified ansatz of the vector order which enables to discuss the order $p_{x}\pm ip_{y}$ gap, which has not been possible so far. We have also analytically investigated the critical temperature and the behavior of the gap near there. Interestingly, for the fixed conformal dimension of the Cooper pair operator, the critical temperature in vector model is higher than that of the scalar model.

Impurity-Driven Metal-Insulator Transitions in Holography

In this work, we study Metal-Insulator transition in a holographic model containing an interaction between the order parameter and charge-carrier density. It turns out that the impurity density of this model can drive the phase transition whose ordered phase corresponds to the insulating phase. The temperature behavior of DC conductivity distinguishes the insulating phase from the metal phase. We confirm this behavior by a numerical method and an analytic calculation. As a byproduct, we show the existence of a `quantum phase transition' supported by the Breitenlohner-Freedman bound argument.

Flow Equation and Fermion Gap in the Holographic Superconductors

We reconsider the fermion spectral function in the presence of the Cooper pair condensation and identified the interaction type of complex scalar and fermion, which gives consistent results with the expected s-wave superconductor for the first time. We derive the matrix Riccati equation, which allows the precise calculation of the fermion spectral function. Apart from the gap structure, we studied the effect of the chemical potential and the density and compared it with the BCS theory. We found that two theories give similar results in small chemical potential but very different ones in the high-density case, which we attribute to the correlation effect.

Holographic Lieb lattice and gapping its Dirac band

We first point out that the Laia-Tong model realizes the Lieb lattice in the holographic setup. It generates a flat band of sharp particle spectrum together with a Dirac band of unparticle spectrum. We then construct a model which opens a gap to the Dirac band so that one can realize a well-separated flat band, which can play the role of the hydrogen atom of strongly correlated systems. We then study the phase transition between the gapped and gapless phases analytically. We also made methodological progress to find a few other quantizations and we express the Green functions in any quantization in terms of that in the standard quantization.

Non-Hermitian quantum system generated from two coupled Sachdev-Ye-Kitaev models

We show that a non-Hermitian two coupled Sachdev-Ye-Kitaev (SYK) model can provide thermodynamic structure equivalent to Hermitian two coupled SYK model. The energy spectrum, the entanglement degree of the ground states and the low energy effective action of this model are not influenced by the non-Hermiticity. The novel biorthogonal ground states demonstrates that two SYK sites, one of which can be in the ground state and the other in the Schwarzian excited state by tuning the non-Hermiticity. We find evidence that the free energy is independent of the non-Hermiticity.

ABC-stacked multilayer graphene in holography

A flat band can be studied an infinitely strong coupling, realized in a simple system. Therefore, its holographic realization should be interesting. Laia and Tong gave a realization of the flat band over the entire momentum region by introducing a particular boundary term. Here, we give a model with a flat band over a finite region of momentum space using a bulk interaction term instead of the boundary term. We find that the spectrum of our model is precisely analogous to that of the ABC stacked multilayer graphene. In the presence of the chemical potential, the flat band is bent in our holographic model, which is very close to the band deformation due to the spin-orbit

Heun's equation and analytic structure of the Gap in Holographic superconductivity

We present the new method to calculate the critical temperature as a function of $Δ$, conformal dimension of the cooper operator. We find that, in the regime $1/2\leq Δ<1$ where the AC conductivity does not show a gap, the critical temperature is not well defined. We also got expression of AC conductivity for $Δ=2$, which agrees with numerical result in the probe approximation.

Island, Page Curve and Superradiance of Rotating BTZ Black Holes

We study the Page curve and the information paradox for the BTZ black hole coupled to two thermal baths by applying the island paradigm. We prove that as the island locates outside the event horizon, the entanglement entropy of Hawking radiation for finite temperature black holes obeys the Page curve. However, for extremal rotating black holes, the Page time and the scrambling time become divergent. To avoid the ill-defined of the Page time, we consider the contribution of superradiance, which is a process that can extract rotational energy from black holes. The superradiance continues in a period much shorter than the Page time when the central charge $c$ is not too large. In this process, the Page time, the scrambling time and the black hole thermal entropy all decrease. Whenever the superradiance finishes, the black hole turn out to be a neutral black hole and the Hawking radiation dominates. The Page curve can then be well reproduced.

Impurity Effect on Hysteric Magnetoconductance: Holographic Approach

In this paper we study a hysteric phase transition from weak localization phase to hysteric magnetoconductance phase using gauge/gravity duality. This hysteric phase is triggered by a spontaneous magnetization related to Z2 symmetry and time reversal symmetry in a 2+1 dimensional system with momentum relaxation. We derive thermoelectric conductivity formulas describing non-hysteric and hysteric phases. At low temperatures, this magneto-conductance shows similar phase transitions of topological insulator surface states. We also obtain hysteresis curves of Seebeck coefficient and Nernst signal. It turns out that our impurity parameter changes magnetic properties of the dual system. This is justified by showing increasing susceptibility and the spontaneous magnetization with increasing impurity parameter.

The superconducting dome for holographic doped Mott insulator with hyperscaling violation

We reconsider the holographic model featuring a superconducting dome on the temperature-doping phase diagram with a modified view on the role of the two charges. The first type charge with density $ρ_{A}$ make the Mott insulator, and the second one with $ρ_{B}$ is the extra charge by doping, so that the complex scalar describing the cooper pair condensation couples only with the second charge. We point out that the key role in creating the dome is played by the three point interaction $-c χ^{2} F_{μν}G^{μν}$. The $Tc$ increases with their coupling. We also consider the effect of the quantum critical point hidden under the dome using the geometry of hyperscaling violation. Our results show that the dome size and optimal temperature increase with $z$ whatever is $θ$, while we get bigger $θ$ for larger (smaller) dome depending on $z>2$ ($z<2$). We also point out that the condensate increases for bigger value of $θ$ but for smaller value of $z$.

The emergence of Strange metal and Topological Liquid near Quantum Critical Point in a solvable model

We discuss quantum phase transition by an exactly solvable model in the dual gravity setup. By considering the effect of the scalar condensation on the fermion spectrum near the quantum critical point(QCP), we find that there is a topologically protected fermion zero mode associated with the metal to insulator transition. We also show that the strange metal phase with T-linear resistivity emerges at high enough temperature as far as the gravity has a horizon. The phase boundaries are calculated according to the density of states, giving insights on structures of the phase diagram near the QCP.

The magnetic effect on strongly correlated system with two currents near the QCP from holography

We study the magnetic effect in strongly interacting system with two conserved currents near the quantum critical point (QCP). For this purpose, we introduce the hyper-scaling violation geometry with the blackhole. Considering the perturbation near the background geometry, we compute the transport coefficients using holographic methods. We calculated the magneto-transport for general QCP and discuss the special point $(z,θ)=(3/2,1)$ where the data of Dirac material were well-described previously.

Determination of Dynamical exponents of Graphene at quantum critical point by holography

We calculate the transport of a theory with two conserved currents by holographic method and compare it with graphene data to determine its dynamical exponents $(z,θ)$ which characterizes a QCP. As a result, we find that the electric and the thermal conductivity data can be fit much more naturally if we assume $(z,θ)=(3/2,1)$ rather than $(1,0)$. Furthermore, we find that thermoelectric power data at high temperature can be fit if we use $(3/2,1)$ but not at all by $(1,0)$. The $θ=1$ result can be interpreted as taking into account the fermionic nature of the electrons and $z=3/2$ can be interpreted as the flattened band by the strong interaction.

Ginzberg-Landau-Wilson theory for Flat band, Fermi-arc and surface states of strongly correlated systems

We consider a holographic theory as a Ginzberg-Landau theory working for strongly interacting system near the quantum critical point: we take the bulk matter field $Φ^I(r,x)$, the dual of the fermion bilinear, as the order parameter. We calculate and classify the fermion spectral functions in the presence of such orders. Depending on the symmetry, we found spectral features like the gap, pseudo-gap, flat disk bands and the Fermi-arc connecting the two Dirac cones, which are familiar in Dirac material and Kondo lattice. Many of above features are associated with the zero modes whose presence is tied with a discrete symmetry of the interaction. The interaction induced zero modes either makes the strongly correlated system fermi-liquid like, or creates a disk-like flat band. Some of the order parameters in the bulk theory do not have an interpretation of symmetry breaking in terms of the boundary space, which opens the possibility of 'an order without symmetry breaking'.

Quantization of the charge in Coulomb plus harmonic potential

We consider two models where the wave equation can be reduced to the effective Schrödinger equation whose potential contains both harmonic and the Coulomb terms, $ω^{2}r^{2}-a/r$. The equation reduces to the biconfluent Heun's equation, and we find that the charge as well as the energy must be quantized and state dependent. We also find that two quantum numbers are necessary to count radial degrees of freedom and suggest that this is a general feature of differential equation with higher singularity like the Heun's equation.
