Curve Flows and Solitonic Hierarchies Generated by Einstein Metrics

We investigate bi-Hamiltonian structures and mKdV hierarchies of solitonic equations generated by (semi) Riemannian metrics and curve flows of non-stretching curves. There are applied methods of the geometry of nonholonomic manifolds enabled with metric-induced nonlinear connection (N-connection) structure. On spacetime manifolds, we consider a nonholonomic splitting of dimensions and define a new class of liner connections which are 'N-adapted', metric compatible and uniquely defined by the metric structure. We prove that for such a linear connection, one yields couples of generalized sine-Gordon equations when the corresponding geometric curve flows result in solitonic hierarchies described in explicit form by nonholonomic wave map equations and mKdV analogs of the Schrodinger map equation. All geometric constructions can be re-defined for the Levi-Civita connection but with "noholonomic mixing" of solitonic interactions. Finally, we speculate why certain methods and results from the geometry of nonholonmic manifolds and solitonic equations have general importance in various directions of modern mathematics, geometric mechanics, fundamental theories in physics and applications, and briefly analyze possible nonlinear wave configurations for modeling gravitational interactions by effective continuous media effects.

Fedosov Quantization of Lagrange-Finsler and Hamilton-Cartan Spaces and Einstein Gravity Lifts on (Co) Tangent Bundles

We provide a method of converting Lagrange and Finsler spaces and their Legendre transforms to Hamilton and Cartan spaces into almost Kaehler structures on tangent and cotangent bundles. In particular cases, the Hamilton spaces contain nonholonomic lifts of (pseudo) Riemannian / Einstein metrics on effective phase spaces. This allows us to define the corresponding Fedosov operators and develop deformation quantization schemes for nonlinear mechanical and gravity models on Lagrange- and Hamilton-Fedosov manifolds.

Einstein Gravity in Almost Kahler Variables and Stability of Gravity with Nonholonomic Distributions and Nonsymmetric Metrics

We argue that the Einstein gravity theory can be reformulated in almost Kahler (nonsymmetric) variables with effective symplectic form and compatible linear connection uniquely defined by a (pseudo) Riemannian metric. A class of nonsymmetric theories of gravitation (NGT) on manifolds enabled with nonholonomic distributions is analyzed. There are considered some conditions when the fundamental geometric and physical objects are determined/ modified by nonholonomic deformations in general relativity or by contributions from Ricci flow theory and/or quantum gravity. We prove that in such NGT, for certain classes of nonholonomic constraints, there are modelled effective Lagrangians which do not develop instabilities. It is also elaborated a linearization formalism for anholonomic NGT models and analyzed the stability of stationary ellipsoidal solutions defining some nonholonomic and/or nonsymmetric deformations of the Schwarzschild metric. We show how to construct nonholonomic distributions which remove instabilities in NGT. Finally we conclude that instabilities do not consist a general feature of theories of gravity with nonsymmetric metrics but a particular property of certain models and/or classes of unconstrained solutions.

Einstein Gravity, Lagrange-Finsler Geometry, and Nonsymmetric Metrics

We formulate an approach to the geometry of Riemann-Cartan spaces provided with nonholonomic distributions defined by generic off-diagonal and nonsymmetric metrics inducing effective nonlinear and affine connections. Such geometries can be modelled by moving nonholonomic frames on (pseudo) Riemannian manifolds and describe various types of nonholonomic Einstein, Eisenhart-Moffat and Finsler-Lagrange spaces with connections compatible to a general nonsymmetric metric structure. Elaborating a metrization procedure for arbitrary distinguished connections, we define the class of distinguished linear connections which are compatible with the nonlinear connection and general nonsymmetric metric structures. The nonsymmetric gravity theory is formulated in terms of metric compatible connections. Finally, there are constructed such nonholonomic deformations of geometric structures when the Einstein and/or Lagrange-Finsler manifolds are transformed equivalently into spaces with generic local anisotropy induced by nonsymmetric metrics and generalized connections. We speculate on possible applications of such geometric methods in Einstein and generalized theories of gravity, analogous gravity and geometric mechanics.

The Entropy of Lagrange-Finsler Spaces and Ricci Flows

We formulate a statistical analogy of regular Lagrange mechanics and Finsler geometry derived from Grisha Perelman's functionals generalized for nonholonomic Ricci flows. There are elaborated explicit constructions when nonholonomically constrained flows of Riemann metrics result in Finsler like configurations, and inversely, and geometric mechanics is modelled on Riemann spaces with preferred nonholonomic frame structure.

Curve Flows in Lagrange-Finsler Geometry, Bi-Hamiltonian Structures and Solitons

Methods in Riemann-Finsler geometry are applied to investigate bi-Hamiltonian structures and related mKdV hierarchies of soliton equations derived geometrically from regular Lagrangians and flows of non-stretching curves in tangent bundles. The total space geometry and nonholonomic flows of curves are defined by Lagrangian semisprays inducing canonical nonlinear connections (N-connections), Sasaki type metrics and linear connections. The simplest examples of such geometries are given by tangent bundles on Riemannian symmetric spaces $G/SO(n)$ provided with an N-connection structure and an adapted metric, for which we elaborate a complete classification, and by generalized Lagrange spaces with constant Hessian. In this approach, bi-Hamiltonian structures are derived for geometric mechanical models and (pseudo) Riemannian metrics in gravity. The results yield horizontal/ vertical pairs of vector sine-Gordon equations and vector mKdV equations, with the corresponding geometric curve flows in the hierarchies described in an explicit form by nonholonomic wave maps and mKdV analogs of nonholonomic Schrodinger maps on a tangent bundle.

Nonlinear Connections on Gerbes, Clifford-Finsler Modules, and the Index Theorems

The geometry of nonholonomic bundle gerbes, provided with nonlinear connection structure, and nonholonomic gerbe modules is elaborated as the theory of Clifford modules on nonholonomic manifolds which positively fail to be spin. We explore an approach to such nonholonomic Dirac operators and derive the related Atiyah-Singer index formulas. There are considered certain applications in modern gravity and geometric mechanics of such Clifford-Lagrange/ Finsler gerbes and their realizations as nonholonomic Clifford and Riemann-Cartan modules.

Nonholonomic Ricci Flows, Exact Solutions in Gravity, and Symmetric and Nonsymmetric Metrics

We provide a proof that nonholonomically constrained Ricci flows of (pseudo) Riemannian metrics positively result into nonsymmetric metrics (as explicit examples, we consider flows of some physically valuable exact solutions in general relativity). There are constructed and analyzed three classes of solutions of Ricci flow evolution equations defining nonholonomic deformations of Taub NUT, Schwarzschild, solitonic and pp--wave symmetric metrics into nonsymmetric ones.

Nonholonomic Ricci Flows: II. Evolution Equations and Dynamics

This is the second paper in a series of works devoted to nonholonomic Ricci flows. By imposing non-integrable (nonholonomic) constraints on the Ricci flows of Riemannian metrics we can model mutual transforms of generalized Finsler-Lagrange and Riemann geometries. We verify some assertions made in the first partner paper and develop a formal scheme in which the geometric constructions with Ricci flow evolution are elaborated for canonical nonlinear and linear connection structures. This scheme is applied to a study of Hamilton's Ricci flows on nonholonomic manifolds and related Einstein spaces and Ricci solitons. The nonholonomic evolution equations are derived from Perelman's functionals which are redefined in such a form that can be adapted to the nonlinear connection structure. Next, the statistical analogy for nonholonomic Ricci flows is formulated and the corresponding thermodynamical expressions are found for compact configurations. Finally, we analyze two physical applications: the nonholonomic Ricci flows associated to evolution models for solitonic pp-wave solutions of Einstein equations, and compute the Perelman's entropy for regular Lagrange and analogous gravitational systems.

Loop Quantum Gravity in Ashtekar and Lagrange-Finsler Variables and Fedosov Quantization of General Relativity

We propose an unified approach to loop quantum gravity and Fedosov quantization of gravity following the geometry of double spacetime fibrations and their quantum deformations. There are considered pseudo-Riemannian manifolds enabled with 1) a nonholonomic 2+2 distribution defining a nonlinear connection (N-connection) structure and 2) an Arnowitt-Deser-Misner 3+1 decomposition. The Ashtekar-Barbero variables are generalized and adapted to the N-connection structure which allows us to write the general relativity theory equivalently in terms of Lagrange-Finsler variables and related canonical almost symplectic forms and connections. The Fedosov results are re-defined for gravitational gauge like connections and there are analyzed the conditions when the star product for deformation quantization is computed in terms of geometric objects in loop quantum gravity. We speculate on equivalence of quantum gravity theories with 3+1 and 2+2 splitting and quantum analogs of the Einstein equations.

Finsler-Lagrange Geometries and Standard Theories in Physics: New Methods in Einstein and String Gravity

In this article, we review the current status of Finsler-Lagrange geometry and generalizations. The goal is to aid non-experts on Finsler spaces, but physicists and geometers skilled in general relativity and particle theories, to understand the crucial importance of such geometric methods for applications in modern physics. We also would like to orient mathematicians working in generalized Finsler and Kahler geometry and geometric mechanics how they could perform their results in order to be accepted by the community ''orthodox'' physicists. Although the bulk of former models of Finsler-Lagrange spaces where elaborated on tangent bundles, the surprising result advocated in our works is that such locally anisotropic structures can be modelled equivalently on Riemann-Cartan spaces, even as exact solutions in Einstein and/or string gravity, if nonholonomic distributions and moving frames of references are introduced into consideration. We also propose a canonical scheme when geometrical objects on a (pseudo) Riemannian space are nonholonomically deformed into generalized Lagrange, or Finsler, configurations on the same manifold or on a corresponding tangent bundle. Such canonical transforms are defined by the coefficients of a prime metric (it can be a solution of the Einstein equations) and generate target spaces as generalized Lagrange structures, their models of almost Hermitian/ Kahler, or nonholonomic Riemann spaces with constant curvature, for some Finsler like connections. There are formulated the criteria when such constructions can be redefined equivalently in terms of the Levi Civita connection.

Deformation Quantization of Nonholonomic Almost Kahler Models and Einstein Gravity

Nonholonomic distributions and adapted fame structures on (pseudo) Riemannian manifolds of even dimension are employed to build structures equivalent to almost Kahler geometry and which allows to perform a Fedosov-like quantization of gravity. The nonlinear connection formalism that was formally elaborated for Lagrange and Finsler geometry is implemented in classical and quantum Einstein gravity.

Parametric Nonholonomic Frame Transforms and Exact Solutions in Gravity

A generalized geometric method is developed for constructing exact solutions of gravitational field equations in Einstein theory and generalizations. First, we apply the formalism of nonholonomic frame deformations (formally considered for nonholonomic manifolds and Finsler spaces) when the gravitational field equations transform into systems of nonlinear partial differential equations which can be integrated in general form. The new classes of solutions are defined by generic off-diagonal metrics depending on integration functions on one, two and three (or three and four) variables if we consider four (or five) dimensional spacetimes. Second, we use a general scheme when one (two) parameter families of exact solutions are defined by any source-free solutions of Einstein's equations with one (two) Killing vector field(s). A successive iteration procedure results in new classes of solutions characterized by an infinite number of parameters for a non-Abelian group involving arbitrary functions on one variable. Five classes of exact off-diagonal solutions are constructed in vacuum Einstein and in string gravity describing solitonic pp-wave interactions. We explore possible physical consequences of such solutions derived from primary Schwarzschild or pp-wave metrics.

Deformation Quantization of Almost Kahler Models and Lagrange-Finsler Spaces

Finsler and Lagrange spaces can be equivalently represented as almost Kahler manifolds enabled with a metric compatible canonical distinguished connection structure generalizing the Levi Civita connection. The goal of this paper is to perform a natural Fedosov-type deformation quantization of such geometries. All constructions are canonically derived for regular Lagrangians and/or fundamental Finsler functions on tangent bundles.

Generalized Lagrange Transforms: Finsler Geometry Methods and Deformation Quantization of Gravity

We propose a natural Fedosov type quantization of generalized Lagrange models and gravity theories with metrics lifted on tangent bundle, or extended to higher dimension, following some stated geometric/ physical conditions (for instance, nonholonomic and/or conformal transforms to some physically important metrics or mapping into a gauge model). Such generalized Lagrange transforms define canonical nonlinear connection, metric and linear connection structures and model almost Kahler geometries with induced canonical symplectic structure and compatible affine connection. The constructions are possible due to a synthesis of the nonlinear connection formalism developed in Finsler and Lagrange geometries and deformation quantization methods.

Nonholonomic Algebroids, Finsler Geometry, and Lagrange-Hamilton Spaces

We elaborate an unified geometric approach to classical mechanics, Riemann-Finsler spaces and gravity theories on Lie algebroids provided with nonlinear connection (N-connection) structure. There are investigated the conditions when the fundamental geometric objects like the anchor, metric and linear connection, almost sympletic and related almost complex structures may be canonically defined by a N-connection induced from a regular Lagrangian (or Hamiltonian), in mechanical models, or by generic off-diagonal metric terms and nonholonomic frames, in gravity theories. Such geometric constructions are modelled on nonholonomic manifolds provided with nonintegrable distributions and related chains of exact sequences of submanifolds defining N-connections. We investigate the main properties of the Lagrange, Hamilton, Finsler-Riemann and Einstein-Cartan algebroids and construct and analyze exact solutions describing such objects.
