Genuine four-partite Bell nonlocality in the curved spacetime

The quantum Bell nonlocality plays a crucial role in quantum information processing. In this paper, we first obtain the quantitative analytical expression of the genuine four-partite Bell nonlocality of any 4-qubit quantum state. Then, we investigate and derive the genuine four-partite nonlocalities in the background of the Schwarzschild black hole and the Schwarzschild-de Sitter spacetime. In the Schwarzschild black hole, it is shown that the Hawking effect destroys the accessible genuine four-partite nonlocality while simultaneously having both detrimental and beneficial impacts on the inaccessible genuine four-partite nonlocality. Besides, we observe that the Hawking effect can generate the physically inaccessible genuine four-partite nonlocality for fermion fields in Schwarzschild black hole. This result shows that the genuine four-partite nonlocality can pass through the event horizon of black hole. Moreover, we also investigate the influence of the Hawking effect of the Schwarzschild-de Sitter spacetime on the genuine four-partite nonlocality of massless Dirac fields.

Local unitary classification of sets of generalized Bell states in $\mathbb{C}^{d}\otimes\mathbb{C}^{d}$

Two sets of quantum entangled states that are equivalent under local unitary transformations may exhibit identical effectiveness and versatility in various quantum information processing tasks. Consequently, classification under local unitary transformations has become a fundamental issue in the theory of quantum entanglement. The primary objective of this work is to establish a complete LU-classification of all sets of generalized Bell states (GBSs) in bipartite quantum systems $\mathbb{C}^{d}\otimes \mathbb{C}^{d}$ with $d\geq 3$. Based on this classification, we determine the minimal cardinality of indistinguishable GBS sets in $\mathbb{C}^{6}\otimes \mathbb{C}^{6}$ under one-way local operations and classical communication (one-way LOCC). We propose first two classification methods based on LU-equivalence for all $l$-GBS sets for $l\geq 2$. We then establish LU-classification for all 2-GBS, 3-GBS, 4-GBS and 5-GBS sets in $\mathbb{C}^{6}\otimes \mathbb{C}^{6}$. Since LU-equivalent sets share identical local distinguishability, it suffices to examine representative GBS sets from equivalent classes. Notably, we identify a one-way LOCC indistinguishable 4-GBS set among these representatives, thereby resolving the case of $d = 6$ for the problem of determining the minimum cardinality of one-way LOCC indistinguishable GBS sets in [Quant. Info. Proc. 18, 145 (2019)] or [Phys. Rev. A 91, 012329 (2015)].

Symmetric measurement-induced lower bounds of concurrence

We provide a class of lower bounds for concurrence based on symmetric measurements. We show that our lower bounds estimate the quantum entanglement better than some existing lower bounds by detailed examples. Moreover, our lower bounds can be experimentally identified without state tomography.

A note on lower bounds of concurrence for arbitrary dimensional bipartite quantum states

Quantification of quantum entanglement plays a crucial role in the study of quantum information tasks. We present analytical lower bounds for both concurrence and 2-concurrence based on the correlation matrices of bipartite quantum states. Compared with other related lower bounds, our approach provides a better estimation of the entanglement, particularly for states with large purity.

Parameterized bipartite entanglement measures and entanglement constraints

In this paper, we propose a novel class of parameterized entanglement measures which are named as $G_ω$-concurrence ($G_ω$C) ($0<ω\leq1$), and demonstrate comprehensively that they satisfy all the necessary axiomatic conditions required for an entanglement measure. Furthermore, we derive an analytical formula relating $G_ω$C to concurrence for the range of $0.85798\leqω\leq1$ within two-qubit systems. Additionally, we prove a new polygamy relation of multiqubit quantum entanglement in terms of $G_ω$-concurrence of assistance ($G_ω$CoA). However, it fails to obey the monogamy relation, but we have demonstrated that the squared $G_ω$-concurrence (S$G_ω$C) does obeys a general monogamy relation in an arbitrary $N$-qubit mixed state. Based on the monogamy properties of S$G_ω$C, we can construct the corresponding multipartite entanglement indicators, which can detect all genuine multiqubit entangled states even in the case of $N$-tangle vanishes. In addition, for multipartite higher-dimensional systems, it is illustrated that S$G_ω$C still has the applicability of the monogamy relation.

Monogamy and polygamy for multi-qudit generalized $W$-class states based on concurrence of assistance and Tsallis-$q$ entanglement of assistance

By analyzing the reduced density matrices derived from a generalized $W$-class state under any partition, we present new analytical monogamy inequalities satisfied by the $α$-th ($α\geqγ,~γ\geq2$) power and $β$-th ($0\leqβ\leq\fracγ{2},~γ\geq2$) power of the concurrence of assistance for multi-qudit generalized $W$-class states, which are demonstrated to be tighter than previous studies through detailed examples. Furthermore, using the Tsallis-$q$ entanglement of assistance, we also establish new monogamy and polygamy relations, which are shown to be valid even for multipartite higher-dimensional states that the CKW inequality is violated.

Witness based nonlinear detection of quantum entanglement

We present a nonlinear entanglement detection strategy which detects entanglement that the linear detection strategy fails. We show that when the nonlinear entanglement detection strategy fails to detect the entanglement of an entangled state with two copies, it may succeed with three or more copies. Based on our strategy, a witness combined with a suitable quanutm mechanical observable may detect the entanglement that can not be detected by the witness alone. Moreover, our strategy can also be applied to detect multipartite entanglement by using the witnesses for bipartite systems, as well as to entanglement concentrations.

Detecting quantum steering in networks

Quantum networks promise an unprecedented leap in semi-device-independent communication and security by capitalizing on quantum steering. However, current methods for assessing quantum network steering are constrained to specific cases. In this work, we introduce the network-Clauser-Horn-Shimony-Holt-like inequality for investigating network steering independent of entanglement source characteristics. We employ this inequality to detect full network steering in both single-node and multinode repeater networks and assess the tolerance of various noise models. Under a specific noise model, our method is used to compute the bound of semi-device-independent communication distance. Through case studies, we also demonstrate that our method, as a semi-device-independent entanglement witness, is more suitable for settings requiring Bell measurements compared to network Bell inequality. These findings open new avenues for broader ways to detect quantum steering independent of entanglement sources.

Quantifying Quantum Steering with Limited Resources: A Semi-supervised Machine Learning Approach

Quantum steering, an intermediate quantum correlation lying between entanglement and nonlocality, has emerged as a critical quantum resource for a variety of quantum information processing tasks such as quantum key distribution and true randomness generation. The ability to detect and quantify quantum steering is crucial for these applications. Semi-definite programming (SDP) has proven to be a valuable tool to quantify quantum steering. However, the challenge lies in the fact that the optimal measurement strategy is not priori known, making it time-consuming to compute the steerable measure for any given quantum state. Furthermore, the utilization of SDP requires full information of the quantum state, necessitating quantum state tomography, which can be complex and resource-consuming. In this work, we utilize the semi-supervised self-training model to estimate the steerable weight, a pivotal measure of quantum steering. The model can be trained using a limited amount of labeled data, thus reducing the time for labeling. The features are constructed by the probabilities derived by performing three sets of projective measurements under arbitrary local unitary transformations on the target states, circumventing the need for quantum tomography. The model demonstrates robust generalization capabilities and can achieve high levels of precision with limited resources.

Quantifying the imaginarity via different distance measures

The recently introduced resource theory of imaginarity facilitates a systematic investigation into the role of complex numbers in quantum mechanics and quantum information theory. In this work, we propose well-defined measures of imaginarity using various distance metrics, drawing inspiration from recent advancements in quantum entanglement and coherence. Specifically, we focus on quantitatively evaluating imaginarity through measures such as Tsallis relative $α$-entropy, Sandwiched Rényi relative entropy, and Tsallis relative operator entropy. Additionally, we analyze the decay rates of these measures. Our findings reveal that the Tsallis relative $α$-entropy of imaginarity exhibits higher decay rate under quantum channels compared to other measures. Finally, we examine the ordering of single-qubit states under these imaginarity measures, demonstrating that the order remains invariant under the bit-flip channel for specific parameter ranges. This study enhances our understanding of imaginarity as a quantum resource and its potential applications in quantum information theory.

Experimental verification of quantum battery capacity with an optical platform

Quantum batteries, consisting of quantum cells, are anticipated to surpass their classical counterparts in performance because of the presence of quantum correlations. Recent theoretical study introduces the quantum battery capacity that is defined according to the highest and the lowest energy during the charging and discharging procedures. Here, we present an experimental verification of quantum battery capacity and its relationships with other quantum characters of battery by using two-photon states. This reveals a distinguished feature of quantum battery capacity and its trade-off relationship with the entropy of the battery state, as well as with measures of coherence and entanglement.

Hybrid of Gradient Descent And Semidefinite Programming for Certifying Multipartite Entanglement Structure

Multipartite entanglement is a crucial resource for a wide range of quantum information processing tasks, including quantum metrology, quantum computing, and quantum communication. The verification of multipartite entanglement, along with an understanding of its intrinsic structure, is of fundamental importance, both for the foundations of quantum mechanics and for the practical applications of quantum information technologies. Nonetheless, detecting entanglement structures remains a significant challenge, particularly for general states and large-scale quantum systems. To address this issue, we develop an efficient algorithm that combines semidefinite programming with a gradient descent method. This algorithm is designed to explore the entanglement structure by examining the inner polytope of the convex set that encompasses all states sharing the same entanglement properties. Through detailed examples, we demonstrate the superior performance of our approach compared to many of the best-known methods available today. Our method not only improves entanglement detection but also provides deeper insights into the complex structures of many-body quantum systems, which is essential for advancing quantum technologies

Schmidt number criterion via general symmetric informationally complete measurements

The Schmidt number characterizes the quantum entanglement of a bipartite mixed state and plays a significant role in certifying entanglement of quantum states. We derive a Schmidt number criterion based on the trace norm of the correlation matrix obtained from the general symmetric informationally complete measurements. The criterion gives an effective way to quantify the entanglement dimension of a bipartite state with arbitrary local dimensions. We show that this Schmidt number criterion is more effective and superior than other criteria such as fidelity, CCNR (computable cross-norm or realignment), MUB (mutually unbiased bases) and EAM (equiangular measurements) criteria in certifying the Schmidt numbers by detailed examples.

Basis-independent Coherence and its Applications

In the quantitative theory of quantum coherence, the amount of coherence for given states can be meaningfully discussed only when referring to a preferred basis. One of the objections to this quantification is that the amount of coherence is an intrinsically basis-dependent quantity. This limitation can, however, be lifted when considering a set of quantum states invariant under arbitrary unitary transformations. Thus, we analyze a basis-independent definition of quantum coherence, and the incoherent state is taken as the maximally mixed state. We describe the relationship between the basis-independent and the basis-dependent approaches and give several applications to show the advantages of the former method. The relations among basis-independent coherence, quantum entanglement, and quantum discord are discussed by using the relative entropy within a multipartite system.

Impact of the Hawking Effect on the Fully Entangled Fraction of Three-qubit States in Schwarzschild Spacetime

Wu et al. [J. High Energ. Phys. 2023, 232 (2023)] first found that the fidelity of quantum teleportation with a bipartite entangled resource state, completely determined by the fully entangled fraction (FEF) characterized by the maximal fidelity between the given quantum state and the set of maximally entangled states, can monotonically increase in Schwarzschild spacetime. We investigated the Hawking effect on the FEF of quantum states in tripartite systems. In this paper, we show that the Hawking effect of a black hole may both decrease and increase the FEF in Schwarzschild spacetime. For an initial X-type state, we found that the Hawking effect of the black hole has both positive and negative impacts on the FEF of Dirac fields, depending on the selection of initial states. For an initial W-like state, the Hawking effect of the black hole has only a positive impact on the FEF of Dirac fields, independent of the selection of initial states. Our results provide an insightful view of quantum teleportation in multipartite systems under the influence of Hawking effects, from the perspective of quantum information and general relativity.

Unextendible and strongly uncompletable product bases

In 2003, DiVincenzo {\it et al}. put forward the question that whether there exists an unextendible product basis (UPB) which is an uncompletable product basis (UCPB) in every bipartition [\href{https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s00220-003-0877-6}{DiVincenzo {\it et al}. Commun. Math. Phys. \textbf{238}, 379-410(2003)}]. Recently, Shi {\it et al}. presented a UPB in tripartite systems that is also a strongly uncompletable product basis (SUCPB) in every bipartition [\href{https://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.1088/1367-2630/ac9e14}{Shi {\it et al}. New J. Phys. \textbf{24}, 113-025 (2022)}]. However, whether there exist UPBs that are SUCPBs in only one or two bipartitions remains unknown. We provide a sufficient condition for the existence of SUCPBs based on a quasi U-tile structure. We analyze all possible cases about the relationship between UPBs and SUCPBs in tripartite systems. In particular, we construct a UPB with smaller size $d^3-3d^2+1$ in $\mathbb{C}^{d}\otimes \mathbb{C}^{d}\otimes \mathbb{C}^{d}$, which is an SUCPB in every bipartition and has a smaller cardinality than the existing one.

Separability criteria based on realignment

The detection of entanglement in a bipartite state is a crucial issue in quantum information science. Based on realignment of density matrices and the vectorization of the reduced density matrices, we introduce a new set of separability criteria. The proposed separability criteria can detect more entanglement than the previous separability criteria. Moreover, we provide new criteria for detecting the genuine tripartite entanglement and lower bounds for the concurrence and convex-roof extended negativity. The advantages of results are demonstrated through detailed examples.

Quantum Coherence: A Fundamental Resource for Establishing Genuine Multipartite Correlations

We establish the profound equivalence between measures of genuine multipartite entanglement(GME) and their corresponding coherence measures. Initially we construct two distinct classes of measures for genuine multipartite entanglement utilizing real symmetric concave functions and the convex roof technique. We then demonstrate that all coherence measures for any qudit states, defined through the convex roof approach, are identical to our two classes of GME measures of the states combined with an incoherent ancilla under a unitary incoherent operation. This relationship implies that genuine multipartite entanglement can be generated from the coherence inherent in an initial state through the unitary incoherent operations. Furthermore, we explore the interplay between coherence and other forms of genuine quantum correlations, specifically genuine multipartite steering and genuine multipartite nonlocality. In the instance of special three-qubit X-states (only nonzero elements of X-state are diagonal or antidiagonal when written in an orthonormal basis), we find that genuine multipartite steering and nonlocality are present if and only if the coherence exists in the corresponding qubit states.
