Unified monogamy relations for the generalized $W$-class states beyond qubits

The monogamy of entanglement stands as an indispensable feature within multipartite quantum systems. We study monogamy relations with respect to any partitions for the generalized $W$-class (GW) states based on the unified-($q,s$) entanglement (UE). We provide the monogamy relation based on the squared UE for a reduced density matrix of a qudit GW state, as well as tighter monogamy relations based on the $α$th ($α\geq2$) power of UE. Furthermore, for an $n$-qudit system $ABC_1...C_{n-2}$, generalized monogamy relation and upper bound satisfied by the $β$th ($0\leqβ\leq1$) power of UE for the GW states under the partition $AB$ and $C_1...C_{n-2}$ are established. In particular, two partition-dependent residual entanglements for the GW states are analyzed in detail.

Quantum partial coherence measures constructed from Fisher information

Quantum mechanics gives a new breakthrough to the field of parameter estimation. In the realm of quantum metrology, the precision of parameter estimation is limited by the quantum Fisher information. We introduce the measures of partial coherence based on (quantum) Fisher information by taking into account the post-selective non-unitary parametrization process. These partial coherence measures present a clear operational interpretation by directly linking the coherence to the parameter estimation accuracy. Furthermore, we explore the distinctions between our partial coherence measure and the quantum Fisher information within the context of unitary parametrization. We provide an analytical expression for the partial coherence measure of two-qubit states. We elucidate the operational significance of the partial coherence measures by establishing the connections between the partial coherence measures and quantum state discrimination.

Coherence and entropy complementarity relations of generalized wave-particle duality

The concept of wave-particle duality holds significant importance in the field of quantum mechanics, as it elucidates the dual nature encompassing both wave-like and particle-like properties exhibited by microscopic particles. In this paper, we construct generalized measures for the predictability and visibility of $n$-path interference fringes to quantify the wave and particle properties in quantum high-dimensional systems. By employing the Morozova-Chentsov function, we ascertain that the wave-particle relationship can be delineated by the average coherence. This function exhibits a close correlation with the metric-adjusted skew information, thereby we establish complementary relations between visibility, predictability, and quantum $f$ entropy, which reveals deep connections between wave-particle duality and other physical quantities. Through our methodology, diverse functions can be selected to yield corresponding complementary relationships.

Tighter superadditivity relations for $l_{1}$-norm coherence measure

Quantum coherence serves as a crucial physical resource, with its quantification emerging as a focal point in contemporary research. Superadditivity constitutes one of the most fundamental attributes in characterizing the coherence distribution in multipartite quantum systems. In this paper, we provide a way to derive tighter superadditivity inequalities of $l_1$-norm coherence measure for arbitrary multiqubit states. We present a category of superadditivity relations related to the $α$-th ($α\geqslant 2$) power of $l_{1}$-norm coherence $C_{l_{1}}$ under certain conditions. Our results are better than existing ones and are illustrated in detail with examples.

Nonlocal Advantages of Quantum Imaginarity

Quantum imaginarity and quantum nonlocality capture the essence of quantumness of a physical system from different aspects. We establish a connection between the imaginarity and quantum nonlocality in any two-qubit states. Based on the imaginarity $l_1$-norm and relative entropy, we first derive complementary relations among the quantum imaginarities with respect to any set of mutually unbiased bases for arbitrary qubit states. Based on these complementary relations, we introduce the nonlocal advantage of quantum imaginarity (NAQI). We show that any two-qubit state with NAQI is quantum steerable, but not the vice-versa. In addition, we investigate the exclusion property of NAQI in three-qubit pure states.

Geometric-Like imaginarity: quantification and state conversion

From the perspective of resource-theoretic approach, this study explores the quantification of imaginary in quantum physics. We propose a well defined measure of imaginarity, the geometric-like measure of imaginarity. Compared with the usual geometric imaginarity measure, this geometric-like measure of imaginarity exhibits smaller decay difference under quantum noisy channels and higher stability. As applications, we show that both the optimal probability of state transformations from a pure state to an arbitrary mixed state via real operations, and the maximal probability of stochastic-approximate state transformations from a pure state to an arbitrary mixed state via real operations with a given fidelity $f$, are given by the geometric-like measure of imaginarity.

Classifying coherence with a finite set of witnesses

Coherence is a fundamental resource in quantum information processing, which can be certified by a coherence witness. In order to detect all the coherent states, we introduce a useful concept of coherence witness and structure the set of coherence witnesses $C^{d}_{[m,M]}$. We present necessary and sufficient conditions of detecting quantum coherence of $d-$dimensional quantum states based on $C^{d}_{[m,M]}$. Moreover, we show that each coherent state can be detected by one of the coherence witnesses in a finite set. The corresponding finite set of coherence witnesses is presented explicitly, which detects all the coherent states.

SOS decomposition for general Bell inequalities in two qubits systems and its application to quantum randomness

Bell non-locality is closely related with device independent quantum randomness. In this paper, we present a kind of sum-of-squares (SOS) decomposition for general Bell inequalities in two qubits systems. By using the obtained SOS decomposition, we can then find the measurement operators associated with the maximal violation of considered Bell inequality. We also practice the SOS decomposition method by considering the (generalized) Clauser-Horne-Shimony-Holt (CHSH) Bell inequality, the Elegant Bell inequality, the Gisin inequality and the Chained Bell inequality as examples. The corresponding SOS decompositions and the measurement operators that cause the maximum violation values of these Bell inequalities are derived, which are consistent with previous results. We further discuss the device independent quantum randomness by using the SOS decompositions of Bell inequalities. We take the generalized CHSH inequality with the maximally entangled state and the Werner state that attaining the maximal violations as examples. Exact value or lower bound on the maximal guessing probability using the SOS decomposition are obtained. For Werner state, the lower bound can supply a much precise estimation of quantum randomness when $p$ tends to $1$.

Entropic uncertainty relations and quantum Fisher information of top quarks in a large hadron collider

We employ the entropic uncertainty relations and the quantum Fisher information to explore the formation of quark $t\bar{t}$ pairs at a large hadron collider through the combination of $q\bar{q}$ pair and $gg$ pair initiated processes. A comprehensive analysis has been undertaken on the procedure of quark and gluon channel mixing in the production of top quark pairs $t\bar{t}$, encompassing the tightness of the entropic uncertainty inequalities and the maximum quantum Fisher information of the system.

Purity and construction of arbitrary dimensional $k$-uniform mixed states

k-uniform mixed states are a significant class of states characterized by all k-party reduced states being maximally mixed. Novel methodologies are constructed for constructing k-uniform mixed states with the highest possible purity. By using the orthogonal partition of orthogonal arrays, a series of new $k$-uniform mixed states is derived. Consequently, an infinite number of higher-dimensional k-uniform mixed states, including those with highest purity, can be generated.

Geometric genuine N-partite entanglement measure for arbitrary dimensions

We present proper genuine multipartite entanglement (GME) measures for arbitrary multipartite and dimensional systems. By using the volume of concurrence regular polygonal pyramid we first derive the GME measure of four-partite quantum systems. From our measure it is verified that the GHZ state is more entangled than the W state. Then we study the GME measure for multipartite quantum states in arbitrary dimensions. A well defined GME measure is constructed based on the volume of the concurrence regular polygonal pyramid. Detailed example shows that our measure can characterize better the genuine multipartite entanglements.

Genuinely nonlocal sets without entanglement in multipartite systems

A set of multipartite orthogonal states is genuinely nonlocal if it is locally indistinguishable in every bipartition of the subsystems. If the set is locally reducible, we say it has genuine nonlocality of type \uppercase\expandafter{\romannumeral 1}. Otherwise, we say it has genuine nonlocality of type \uppercase\expandafter{\romannumeral 2}. Due to the complexity of the problem, the construction of genuinely nonlocal sets in general multipartite systems has not been completely solved so far. In this paper, we first provide a nonlocal set of product states in bipartite systems. We obtain a genuinely nonlocal set of type~\uppercase\expandafter{\romannumeral 1} without entanglement in general $n$-partite systems $\otimes^{n}_{i=1}\mathbb{C}^{d_{i}}$ $[3\leq (d_{1}-1)\leq d_{2}\leq \cdots\leq d_{n},n\geq3]$. Then we present two constructions with genuine nonlocality of type~\uppercase\expandafter{\romannumeral 2} in $\mathbb{C}^{d_{1}}\otimes\mathbb{C}^{d_{2}}\otimes\mathbb{C}^{d_{3}}$ $(3\leq d_{1}\leq d_{2}\leq d_{3})$ and $\otimes^{n}_{i=1}\mathbb{C}^{d_{i}}$ $(3\leq d_{1}\leq d_{2}\leq \cdots\leq d_{n},n\geq4)$. Our results further positively answer the open problem that there does exist a genuinely nonlocal set of type~\uppercase\expandafter{\romannumeral2} in multipartite systems [M. S. Li, Y. L. Wang, F. Shi, and M. H. Yung, J. Phys. A: Math. Theor. 54, 445301 (2021)] and highlight its related applications in quantum information processing.

The quantum uncertainty relations of quantum channels

The uncertainty relation reveals the intrinsic difference between the classical world and the quantum world. We investigate the quantum uncertainty relation of quantum channel in qubit systems. Under two general measurement bases, we first derive the quantum uncertainty relation for quantum channels with respect to the relative entropy of coherence. Then we obtain the quantum uncertainty relation for unitary channels with respect to the $l_1$ norm of coherence. Some examples are given in detail.

Strongest nonlocal sets with minimum cardinality in multipartite systems

Quantum nonlocality based on state discrimination describes the global property of the set of orthogonal states and has a wide range of applications in quantum cryptographic protocols. Strongest nonlocality is the strongest form of quantum nonlocality recently presented in multipartite quantum systems: a set of orthogonal multipartite quantum states is strongest nonlocal if the only orthogonality-preserving local measurements on the subsystems in every bipartition are trivial. In this work, we found a construction of strongest nonlocal sets in $\mathbb{C}^{d_{1}}\otimes \mathbb{C}^{d_{2}}\otimes \mathbb{C}^{d_{3}}$ $(2\leq d_{1}\leq d_{2}\leq d_{3})$ of size $d_2d_3+1$ without stopper states. Then we obtain the strongest nonlocal sets in four-partite systems with $d^3+1$ orthogonal states in $\mathbb{C}^d\otimes \mathbb{C}^{d}\otimes \mathbb{C}^{d}\otimes \mathbb{C}^{d}$ $(d\geq2)$ and $d_{2}d_{3}d_{4}+1$ orthogonal states in $\mathbb{C}^{d_{1}}\otimes \mathbb{C}^{d_{2}}\otimes \mathbb{C}^{d_{3}}\otimes \mathbb{C}^{d_{4}}$ $(2\leq d_{1}\leq d_{2}\leq d_{3}\leq d_{4})$. Surprisingly, the number of the elements in all above constructions perfectly reaches the recent conjectured lower bound and reduces the size of the strongest nonlocal set in $\mathbb{C}^{d}\otimes \mathbb{C}^{d}\otimes \mathbb{C}^{d}\otimes \mathbb{C}^{d}$ of [\href{https://doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevA.108.062407}{Phys. Rev. A \textbf{108}, 062407 (2023)}] by $d-2$. In particular, the general optimal construction of the strongest nonlocal set in four-partite system is completely solved for the first time, which further highlights the theory of quantum nonlocality from the perspective of state discrimination.

Dynamics of quantum battery capacity under Markovian channels

We study the dynamics of the quantum battery capacity for the Bell-diagonal states under Markovian channels on the first subsystem. We show that the capacity increases for special Bell-diagonal states under amplitude damping channel. The sudden death of the capacity occurs under depolarizing channel. We also investigate the capacity evolution of Bell-diagonal states under Markovian channels on the first subsystem $n$ times. It is shown that the capacity under depolarizing channel decreases initially, then increases for small $n$ and tend to zero for large $n$. We find that under bit flip channel and amplitude damping channel, the quantum battery capacity of special Bell-diagonal states tends to a constant for large $n$, namely, the frozen capacity occurs. The dynamics of the capacity of the Bell-diagonal states under two independent same type local Markovian channels is also studied.

General monogamy relations of the $S^{t}$ and $T^{t}_q$-entropy entanglement measures based on dual entropy

Monogamy of entanglement is the fundamental property of quantum systems. By using two new entanglement measures based on dual entropy, the $S^{t}$-entropy entanglement and $T^{t}_q$-entropy entanglement measures, we present the general monogamy relations in multi-qubit quantum systems. We show that these newly derived monogamy inequalities are tighter than the existing ones. Based on these general monogamy relations, we construct the set of multipartite entanglement indicators for $N$-qubit states, which are shown to work well even for the cases that the usual concurrence-based indicators do not work. Detailed examples are presented to illustrate our results.

Classifying multiparticle entanglement with passive state energies

Thermodynamics as a fundamental branch of physics examines the relationships between heat, work, and energy. The maximum energy extraction can be characterized by using the passive states that has no extracted energy under any cyclic unitary process. In this paper, we focus on the concept of marginal passive state energy and derive polygon inequalities for multi-qubit entangled pure states. We show that the marginal passive state energies collectively form a convex polytope for each class of quantum states that are equivalent under SLOCC. We finally introduce multipartite passive state energy criteria to classify multipartite entanglement under SLOCC. The present result provides a thermodynamic method to witness multipartite entanglement.

Verifying Hierarchic Multipartite and Network Nonlocalities with a Unified Method

The multipartite nonlocality provides deep insights into the fundamental feature of quantum mechanics and guarantees different degrees of cryptography security for potential applications in the quantum internet. Verifying multipartite nonlocal correlations is a difficult task. We propose a unified approach that encompasses all the quantum characteristics of the multipartite correlated system beyond from fully separable to biseparable no-signaling correlations. We offer a straightforward method to verify general systems by lifting partial nonlocal correlations. This allows to construct a chained Bell inequality, facilitating the unified verification of hierarchic multipartite nonlocalities. We finally apply the lifting method to verify the correlations derived from quantum networks.
