General monogamy and polygamy relations of arbitrary quantum correlations for multipartite systems

Monogamy and polygamy of quantum correlations are the fundamental properties of quantum systems. We study the monogamy and polygamy relations satisfied by any quantum correlations in multipartite quantum systems. General monogamy relations are presented for the $α$th $(0\leqα\leqγ$, $γ\geq2)$ power of quantum correlation, and general polygamy relations are given for the $β$th $(β\geq δ$, $0\leqδ\leq1)$ power of quantum correlation. We show that these newly derived monogamy and polygamy inequalities are tighter than the existing ones. By applying these results to specific quantum correlations such as concurrence and the square of convex-roof extended negativity of assistance (SCRENoA), the corresponding new classes of monogamy and polygamy relations are obtained, which include the existing ones as special cases. Detailed examples are given to illustrate the advantages of our results.

Summation and product forms of uncertainty relations based on metric-adjusted skew information

Uncertainty principle is one of the most essential features in quantum mechanics and plays profound roles in quantum information processing. We establish tighter summation form uncertainty relations based on metric-adjusted skew information via operator representation of observables, which improve the existing results. By using the methodologies of sampling coordinates of observables, we also present tighter product form uncertainty relations. Detailed examples are given to illustrate the advantages of our uncertainty relations.

Tighter sum uncertainty relations via $(α,β,γ)$ weighted Wigner-Yanase-Dyson skew information

We establish tighter uncertainty relations for arbitrary finite observables via $(α,β,γ)$ weighted Wigner-Yanase-Dyson ($(α,β,γ)$WWYD) skew information. The results are also applicable to the $(α,γ)$ weighted Wigner-Yanase-Dyson ($(α,γ)$WWYD) skew information and the weighted Wigner-Yanase-Dyson (WWYD) skew information. We also present tighter lower bounds of quantum channels and unitary channels via $(α,β,γ)$ modified weighted Wigner-Yanase-Dyson ($(α,β,γ)$MWWYD) skew information. Detailed examples are provided to illustrate tightness of our uncertainty relations.

Detection of Network and Genuine Network Quantum Steering

The quantum network correlations play significant roles in long distance quantum communication, quantum cryptography and distributed quantum computing. Generally it is very difficult to characterize the multipartite quantum network correlations such as nonlocality, entanglement and steering. In this paper, we propose the network and the genuine network quantum steering models from the aspect of probabilities in the star network configurations. Linear and nonlinear inequalities are derived to detect the network and genuine network quantum steering when the central party performs one fixed measurement. We show that our criteria can detect more quantum network steering than that from the violation of the n-locality quantum networks. Moreover, it is shown that biseparable assemblages can demonstrate genuine network steering in the star network configurations.

Parameterized steering criteria via correlation matrices

We study the steerability for arbitrary dimensional bipartite systems based on the correlation matrices given by local special unitary groups. We present families of steering criteria for bipartite quantum states in terms of parameterized correlation matrices. We show that these steering criteria may detect more steerable states than the existing steering criteria. The results are illustrated by detailed examples.

Witnessing quantum coherence with prior knowledge of observables

Quantum coherence is the key resource in quantum technologies including faster computing, secure communication and advanced sensing. Its quantification and detection are, therefore, paramount within the context of quantum information processing. Having certain priori knowledge on the observables may enhance the efficiency of coherence detection. In this work, we posit that the trace of the observables is a known quantity. Our investigation confirms that this assumption indeed extends the scope of coherence detection capabilities. Utilizing this prior knowledge of the trace of the observables, we establish a series of coherence detection criteria. We investigate the detection capabilities of these coherence criteria from diverse perspectives and ultimately ascertain the existence of four distinct and inequivalent criteria. These findings contribute to the deepening of our understanding of coherence detection methodologies, thereby potentially opening new avenues for advancements in quantum technologies.

Detecting multipartite entanglement via complete orthogonal basis

We study genuine tripartite entanglement and multipartite entanglement in arbitrary $n$-partite quantum systems based on complete orthogonal basis (COB). While the usual Bloch representation of a density matrix uses three types of generators, the density matrix with COB operators has one uniformed type of generators which may simplify related computations. We take the advantage of this simplicity to derive useful and operational criteria to detect genuine tripartite entanglement and multipartite entanglement. We first convert the general states to simpler forms by using the relationship between general symmetric informationally complete measurements and COB. Then we derive an operational criteria to detect genuine tripartite entanglement. We study multipartite entanglement in arbitrary dimensional multipartite systems. By providing detailed examples, we demonstrate that our criteria can detect more genuine entangled and multipartite entangled states than the previously existing criteria.

Polygamy relation of quantum correlations with equality

We provide a generalized definition of polygamy relations for any quantum correlation measures. Instead of the usual polygamy inequality, a polygamy relation with equality is given by introducing the polygamy weight. From the polygamy relation with equality, we present polygamy inequalities satisfied by the $β$th $(β>0)$ power of the quantum correlation measures. Taking concurrence of assistance as an example, we further illustrate the significance and advantages of these relations. We also obtain a polygamy relation with equality by considering the one-to-group entanglements for any quantum entanglement measures that do not satisfy the polygamy relations. We demonstrate that such relations for tripartite states can be generalized to multipartite systems.

Variational quantum algorithms for Poisson equations based on the decomposition of sparse Hamiltonians

Solving a Poisson equation is generally reduced to solving a linear system with a coefficient matrix $A$ of entries $a_{ij}$, $i,j=1,2,...,n$, from the discretized Poisson equation. Although the variational quantum algorithms are promising algorithms to solve the discretized Poisson equation, they generally require that $A$ be decomposed into a sum of $O[\text{poly}(\text{log}_2n)]$ simple operators in order to evaluate efficiently the loss function. A tensor product decomposition of $A$ with $2\text{log}_2n+1$ terms has been explored in previous works. In this paper, based on the decomposition of sparse Hamiltonians we greatly reduce the number of terms. We first write the loss function in terms of the operator $σ_x\otimes A$ with $σ_x$ denoting the standard Pauli operator. Then for the one-dimensional Poisson equations with different boundary conditions and for the $d$-dimensional Poisson equations with Dirichlet boundary conditions, we decompose $σ_x\otimes A$ into a sum of at most 7 and $(4d+1)$ Hermitian, one-sparse, and self-inverse operators, respectively. We design explicitly the quantum circuits to evaluate efficiently the loss function. The decomposition method and the design of quantum circuits can also be easily extended to linear systems with Hermitian and sparse coefficient matrices satisfying $a_{i,i+c}=a_{c}$ for $c=0,1,\cdots,n-1$ and $i=0,\cdots,n-1-c$.

Entanglement Verification with Deep Semi-supervised Machine Learning

Quantum entanglement lies at the heart in quantum information processing tasks. Although many criteria have been proposed, efficient and scalable methods to detect the entanglement of generally given quantum states are still not available yet, particularly for high-dimensional and multipartite quantum systems. Based on FixMatch and Pseudo-Label method, we propose a deep semi-supervised learning model with a small portion of labeled data and a large portion of unlabeled data. The data augmentation strategies are applied in this model by using the convexity of separable states and performing local unitary operations on the training data. We verify that our model has good generalization ability and gives rise to better accuracies compared to traditional supervised learning models by detailed examples.

Detection of Genuine Multipartite Entanglement in Arbitrary Multipartite systems

We study the genuine multipartite entanglement of arbitrary $n$-partite quantum states by representing the density matrices in terms of the generalized Pauli operators. We introduce a general framework for detecting genuine multipartite entanglement and non full-separability of multipartite quantum states with arbitrary dimensions based on correlation tensors. Effective criterion is derived to verify the genuine multipartite entanglement. Detailed examples are given to show that the criterion detects more genuine multipartite entanglement than the existing criteria.

Detection of tripartite entanglement based on principal basis matrix representations

We study the entanglement in tripartite quantum systems by using the principal basis matrix representations of density matrices. Using the Schmidt decomposition and local unitary transformation, we first convert the general states to simpler forms and then construct some special matrices from the correlation tensors of the simplified density matrices. Based on the different linear combinations of these matrices, necessary conditions are presented to detect entanglement of tripartite states. Detailed examples show that our method can detect more entangled states than previous ones.

Quantum key distribution over noisy channels by the testing state method

Quantum key distribution(QKD) might be the most famous application of quantum information theory. The idea of QKD is not difficult to understand but in practical implementations, many problems are needed to be solved, for example, the noise of the channels. Previous works usually discuss the estimate of the channels and employ error-correcting procedures, whose feasibility and efficiency depend on the strength of the noise, or assist with entanglement distillation procedures, which often result in a large consumption of states while not all states can be distilled. This paper aims to study QKD over noisy channels including Pauli noises, amplitude damping noises, phase damping noises, collective noises as well as mixtures of them, in any strength without distillations. We provide a method, called the testing state method, to implement QKD protocols without errors over arbitrarily strength noisy channels. The method can be viewed as an error-correcting procedure, and can also be employed for other tasks.

Entropic uncertainty relations with quantum memory in a multipartite scenario

Entropic uncertainty relations demonstrate the intrinsic uncertainty of nature from an information-theory perspective. Recently, a quantum-memory-assisted entropic uncertainty relation for multiple measurements was proposed by Wu $et\ al.$ [Phys Rev A. 106. 062219 (2022)]. Interestingly, the quantum-memory-assisted entropic uncertainty relation for multiple measurement settings can be further generalized. In this work, we propose two complementary multipartite quantum-memory-assisted entropic uncertainty relations and our lower bounds depend on values of complementarity of the observables, (conditional) von-Neumann entropies, Holevo quantities, and mutual information. As an illustration, we provide several typical cases to exhibit that our bounds are tighter and outperform the previous bounds.

The battery capacity of energy-storing quantum systems

The quantum battery capacity is introduced in this letter as a figure of merit that expresses the potential of a quantum system to store and supply energy. It is defined as the difference between the highest and the lowest energy that can be reached by means of the unitary evolution of the system. This function is closely connected to the ergotropy, but it does not depend on the temporary level of energy of the system. The capacity of a quantum battery can be directly linked with the entropy of the battery state, as well as with measures of coherence and entanglement.

Hawking effect can generate physically inaccessible genuine tripartite nonlocality

We explore the acceleration effect on the genuine tripartite nonlocality (GTN) for one or two accelerated detector(s) coupled to the vacuum field with initial mixed tripartite states. We show that the Hawking radiation degrades the physically accessible GTN, which suffers from "sudden death" at certain critical Hawking temperature. An novel phenomenon has been observed first time that the Hawking effect can generate the physically inaccessible GTN for fermion fields in curved spacetime, the "sudden birth" of the physically inaccessible GTN. This result shows that the GTN can pass through the event horizon of black hole for certain mixed initial states. We also derived analytically the tradeoff relations of genuine tripartite entanglement (GTE) and quantum coherence under the influence of Hawking effect.

Sharing EPR steering between sequential pairs of observers

The recycling of quantum correlations has attracted widespread attention both theoretically and experimentally. Previous works show that bilateral sharing of nonlocality is impossible under mild measurement strategy and 2-qubit entangled state can be used to witness entanglement arbitrary many times by sequential and independent pairs of observers. However, less is known about the bilateral sharing of EPR steering yet. Here, we aim at investigating the EPR steering sharing between sequential pairs of observers. We show that an unbounded number of sequential Alice-Bob pairs can share the EPR steering as long as the initially shared state is an entangled two-qubit pure state. The claim is also true for particular class of mixed entangled states.

Ising Hamiltonians for Constrained Combinatorial Optimization Problems and the Metropolis-Hastings Warm-Starting Algorithm

Quantum approximate optimization algorithm (QAOA) is a promising variational quantum algorithm for combinatorial optimization problems. However, the implementation of QAOA is limited due to the requirement that the problems be mapped to Ising Hamiltonians and the nonconvex optimization landscapes. Although the Ising Hamiltonians for many NP hard problems have been obtained, a general method to obtain the Ising Hamiltonians for constrained combinatorial optimization problems (CCOPs) has not yet been investigated. In this paper, a general method is introduced to obtain the Ising Hamiltonians for CCOPs and the Metropolis-Hastings warm-starting algorithm for QAOA is presented which can provably converge to the global optimal solutions. The effectiveness of this method is demonstrated by tackling the minimum weight vertex cover (MWVC) problem, the minimum vertex cover (MVC) problem, and the maximal independent set problem as examples. The Ising Hamiltonian for the MWVC problem is obtained first time by using this method. The advantages of the Metropolis-Hastings warm-starting algorithm presented here is numerically analyzed through solving 30 randomly generated MVC cases with 1-depth QAOA.
