Meson-baryon scattering lengths in HB$χ$PT

We calculate the chiral corrections to the s-wave pseudoscalar meson octet-baryon scattering lengths $a_{MB}$ to ${\cal O}(p^3)$ in the SU(3) heavy baryon chiral perturbation theory (HB$χ$PT). Hopefully the obtained analytical expressions will be helpful in the chiral extrapolation of these scattering lengths in the future lattice simulation.

$D_{sJ}(2860)$ and $D_{sJ}(2715)$

Recently Babar Collaboration reported a new $c\bar{s}$ state $D_{sJ}(2860)$ and Belle Collaboration observed $D_{sJ}(2715)$. We investigate the strong decays of the excited $c\bar{s}$ states using the $^{3}P_{0}$ model. After comparing the theoretical decay widths and decay patterns with the available experimental data, we tend to conclude: (1) $D_{sJ}(2715)$ is probably the $1^{-}(1^{3}D_{1})$ $c\bar{s}$ state although the $1^{-}(2^{3}S_{1})$ assignment is not completely excluded; (2) $D_{sJ}(2860)$ seems unlikely to be the $1^{-}(2^{3}S_{1})$ and $1^{-}(1^{3}D_{1})$ candidate; (3) $D_{sJ}(2860)$ as either a $0^{+}(2^{3}P_{0})$ or $3^{-}(1^{3}D_{3})$ $c\bar{s}$ state is consistent with the experimental data; (4) experimental search of $D_{sJ}(2860)$ in the channels $D_sη$, $DK^{*}$, $D^{*}K$ and $D_{s}^{*}η$ will be crucial to distinguish the above two possibilities.

D Wave Heavy Mesons

We first extract the binding energy $\bar Λ$ and decay constants of the D wave heavy meson doublets $(1^{-},2^{-})$ and $(2^{-},3^{-})$ with QCD sum rule in the leading order of heavy quark effective theory. Then we study their pionic $(π, K, η)$ couplings using the light cone sum rule, from which the parameter $\bar Λ$ can also be extracted. We then calculate the pionic decay widths of the strange/non-strange D wave heavy $D/B$ mesons and discuss the possible candidates for the D wave charm-strange mesons. Further experimental information, such as the ratio between $D_sη$ and $DK$ modes, will be very useful to distinguish various assignments for $D_{sJ}(2860, 2715)$.

The Hidden Charm Decay of $X(3872), Y(3940)$ and Final State Interaction Effects

We investigate whether the final state interaction (FSI) effect plays a significant role in the large hidden charm decay width of X(3872) and Y(3940) using a model. Our numerical result suggests (1) the FSI contribution to $X(3872)\to J/ψρ$ is tiny; (2) $Γ[ Y(3940)\to D\bar{D}^{*}+\text{h.c.}\to J/ψω]$ from FSI is around several keV, far less than Belle's experimental value 7 MeV.

New QCD Sum Rule for $D(0^+)$

We derive a new QCD sum rule for $D(0^+)$ which has only the $Dπ$ continuum with a resonance in the hadron side, using the assumption similar to that has been successfully used in our previous work to the mass of $D_s(0^+)(2317)$. For the value of the pole mass $M_c=1.38 $ GeV as used in the $D_s(0^+)$ case we find that the mass of $D(0^+)$ derived from this sum rule is significantly lower than that derived from the sum rule with the pole approximation. Our result is in agreement with the experimental dada from Belle.

Exotic Tetraquark ud bar[s] bar[s] of J^P=0^+ in the QCD Sum Rule

We study a QCD sum rule analysis for an exotic tetraquark ud bar[s] bar[s] of J^P=0^+ and I = 1. We construct q q bar[q] bar[q] currents in a local product form and find that there are five independent currents for this channel. Due to high dimensional nature of the current, it is not easy to form a good sum rule when using a single current. This means that we do not find any sum rule window to extract reliable results, due to the insufficient convergence of the OPE and to the exceptional important role of QCD continuum. Then we examine sum rules by using currents of linear combinations of two currents among the independent ones. We find two reasonable cases that predict a mass of the tetraquark around 1.5 GeV.

Isospin symmetry breaking of K and K* mesons

We use the method of QCD sum rules to investigate the isospin symmetry breaking of K and K* mesons. The electromagnetic effect, difference between up and down current-quark masses and difference between up and down quark condensates are important. We perform sum rule analyses of their masses and decay constant differences, which are consistent with experimental values. Our results yield Delta f_K = f_{K^0} - f_{K^\pm} = 1.5 MeV.

Decays of $D_{sj}^*(2317)$ and $D_{sj}(2460)$ Mesons in the Quark Model

We study the decay widths of the narrow resonances $D_{sj}^*(2317)$ and $D_{sj}(2460)$ in the chiral quark model, together with the well-known $D^\ast$ and $D_s^*$ mesons. All the parameters in our calculation are taken from Godfrey and Isgur's quark model except the $π^0-η$ mixing angle which is fixed by the $D_s^*$ decay widths. The calculated electromagnetic decay widths agree with those from other groups and the experimental data available quite well. However, the pionic decay widths of $D_{sj}(2317)$ and $D_{sj}(2460)$ are too small to fit the experimental data. We suspect that the simple chiral quark pion axial-vector interaction Hamiltonian is not suitable for hadron strong decays of $D_{sj}(2317)$ and $D_{sj}(2460)$.

The Possible $J^{PC}I^G=2^{++}2^+$ State X(1600)

The interesting state X(1600) with $J^{PC}I^G=2^{++}2^+$ can't be a conventional $q \bar q$ meson in the quark model. Using a mixed interpolating current with different color configurations, we investigate the possible existence of X(1600) in the framework of QCD finite energy sum rules. Our results indicate that both the "hidden color" and coupled channel effects may be quite important in the multiquark system. We propose several reactions to look for this state.

Radiative Decays of Decuplet Baryons, $Λ(1405)$ and $Λ(1520)$ Hyperons

The chiral quark model gives a reasonably good description of many low-energy observables by incorporating the effective degrees carried by the constituent quarks and Goldstone bosons. We calculate the decuplet to octet transition magnetic moments and the decay widths of several excited hyperons using this model. The various radiative decay widths from the chiral quark roughly agree with experimental data including the recent JLAB measurement.

Pionic Decays of $D_{sj}(2317)$, $D_{sj}(2460)$ and $B_{sj}(5718)$, $B_{sj}(5765)$

We estimate pionic decay widths of the narrow charm-strange resonances $D_{sj}(2317)$ and $D_{sj}(2460)$ using the $^3P_0$ model. Their one-pion decays occur through $η$-$π^0$ mixing while the two-pion decays of $D_{sj}(2460)$ occur through the virtual $f_0(980)$ meson. The mixing between $^3P_1$ and $^1P_1$ states enhances the single pion decay width of $D_{sj}(2460)$ and suppresses its double pion decay width significantly. The two-pion decay width of $D_{sj}(2460)$ is much smaller than its one-pion decay width. As a byproduct, we also calculate pionic decay widths of $B_{sj}(5765)$, $B_{sj}(5765)$ mesons in the $(0^+, 1^+)$ heavy doublet.

The $J^P=1^+$ $ud\bar s\bar s$ Tetraquark

Using the color-magnetic interaction Hamiltonian with SU(3) flavor symmetry breaking, we perform a schematic study of the masses of the $J^P=1^+$ tetraquarks in the anti-decuplet representation. After diagonalizing the mass matrix, we find the $ud\bar s\bar s$ tetraquark lies around 1347 MeV. It decays into $K^+K^0π^0, K^+K^+π^-, K^0K^0π^+$ via P-wave. The dual suppression from the not-so-big three-body phase space and P-wave decay barrier may render this exotic state rather narrow. Future experimental exclusion of this state will cast doubt on the validity of applying the simple color-magnetic Hamiltonian to the multiquark system.

Strong decays of $D_{sJ}(2317)$ and $D_{sJ}(2460)$

With the identification of ($D_{sJ}(2317), D_{sJ}(2460)$) as the ($0^+$, $1^+$) doublet in the heavy quark effective field theory, we derive the light cone QCD sum rule for the coupling of eta meson with $D_{sJ}(2317) D_s $ and $D_{sJ}(2460) D_s^{*} $. Through $η-π^0$ mixing we calculate their pionic decay widths, which are consistent with the experimental values (or upper limits). Combining the radiative decay widths derived by Colangelo, Fazio and Ozpineci in the same framework, we conclude that the decay patterns of $D_{sJ}(2317, 2460)$ strongly support their interpretation as ordinary $c \bar s$ mesons.

The Possible Interpretations of Y(4260)

The recently observed Y(4260) lies far above the decay threshold with a width less than 100 MeV. We argue that it's very difficult to accommodate Y(4260) as a conventional $c\bar c$ radial excitation or a D-wave state. It can't be a hadronic molecule. Its production mechanism and special decay pattern do not favor the glueball interpretation. If Y(4260) is a scalar tetraquark, it must be produced by the I=0 component of the virtual photon. Then the $I=1, I_z=0$ component of the virtual photon should have produced its isovector partner $Y^\prime (4260)$, which may be searched for in the decay channel $π^+π^-π^0 J/ψ$ using exactly the same database from the initial state radiation process. The observation/non-observation of $Y^\prime (4260)$ can easily confirm/reject the tetraquark hypothesis. However, a tetraquark far above threshold can fall apart into $D\bar D, D^\ast\bar D$ very easily. Its not-so-large width and the non-observation of $D\bar D$ mode tend to disfavor the tetraquark hypothesis. Hence the only feasible interpretation is a hybrid charmonium if Y(4260) is {\sl NOT} an experimental artifact. At present, none of the experimental information from BABAR measurement is in conflict with the hybrid charmonium picture.

X(1835): A Possible Baryonium?

We point out that (1) the large $p\bar p$ coupling and suppressed mesonic coupling of X(1835) and (2) the suppression of the three-body strange final states strongly indicate that X(1835) may be a $p\bar p$ baryonium. We also point out that the branching ratio of $X(1835)\toηππ$ should be bigger than that of $X(1835)\toη^\prime ππ$. If BES further confirms the non-observation of X(1835) in the $ηππ$ channel, that will be very puzzling. Finally, X(1835) may be used a tetraquark generator if X(1835) is really established as a baryonium state.
