Calabi-Yau Conjecture for Minimal Hypersurfaces in $\mathbb{R}^4$ with bounded geometry

The Calabi-Yau conjectures for complete minimal hypersurfaces $\Sigma^{n}\subset \mathbb{R}^{n+1}$ for $n\geq 2$ ask whether a complete minimal hypersurface must be unbounded, and more strongly whether it must be proper. In this work, we resolve this conjecture for complete, connected, embedded minimal hypersurfaces $ \Sigma^3 \subset \mathbb{R}^4$ with bounded second fundamental form and finite second Betti number $b_2(\Sigma;\mathbb{Z}_2)<\infty$.

Non-uniqueness of geodesic limits and a question of Grayson and Gage

Grayson and Gage proved that an immortal curve shortening flow of simple closed curves on a closed surface converges subsequentially to a closed geodesic, and they asked whether this limiting geodesic is unique. We answer this question negatively by constructing a smooth Riemannian metric on $\mathbb{S}^2$ and an immortal simple closed curve shortening flow that converges along different sequences of times to every geodesic in a one-parameter family of distinct simple closed geodesics.

Contracting Transport Maps on Riemannian Manifolds

We use inverse mean curvature flow to construct bi-Lipschitz maps that preserve normalized volume and decrease distances. These maps send a round sphere onto any smooth closed strictly convex hypersurface in a sphere and a flat disk onto any smooth strictly convex free-boundary disk in a Euclidean ball. In dimension two, this proves a conjecture of E. Milman for every smooth two-sphere with Gaussian curvature at least one and gives an analogous result for nonnegatively curved disks whose boundary has geodesic curvature one. The spherical result proves the two-dimensional case of the spectral comparison conjectured by Colding and Minicozzi. Counterexamples in dimensions $n\geq3$ show that the restriction to dimension two is sharp. Furthermore, an equivariant extension of this construction yields, for every $n\geq2$, a contracting transport map from the uniform probability measure on a round hemisphere to the uniform probability measure on any closed geodesically convex subset of positive volume. This settles the remaining uniform-target case of a question raised by Beck and Jerison. In dimension two, we also find geometric conditions under which the uniform measure on the hemisphere can be transported by a contracting map to a broad class of nonuniform probability measures supported on domains in a hemisphere.

Half-Space Theorem for Minimal Hypersurfaces in $\mathbb{R}^4$

The three-dimensional catenoid in $\mathbb{R}^4$ is a complete embedded minimal hypersurface contained in a slab, showing that the half-space theorem does not extend directly to higher dimensions. We show that this obstruction is topological in $\mathbb{R}^4$. More precisely, we prove that a connected, complete, embedded minimal hypersurface $\Sigma^3\subset\mathbb{R}^4$ contained in a half-space with bounded curvature and trivial second homology must be a hyperplane.

Spectral Obstructions to Contracting Transport Maps on Curved Spaces

Caffarelli's contraction theorem states that the Brenier optimal transport map from the standard Gaussian measure to a more log-concave probability measure is $1$-Lipschitz. Motivated by this theorem, Milman [Mil18] formulated several conjectures for the round sphere and for weighted manifolds satisfying the curvature-dimension condition $\operatorname{CD}(\rho,\infty)$. Recently, Beck and Jerison [BJ21] raised related questions on the round hemisphere. The existence of a contracting transport map implies a corresponding spectral comparison. In the spherical setting, this comparison was also conjectured by Colding and Minicozzi [CM98] for compact manifolds with Ricci curvature lower bounds. In this work, we construct counterexamples to the corresponding spectral comparisons on spheres and on weighted manifolds satisfying $\operatorname{CD}(1,\infty)$ in dimensions $d\geq4$, yielding obstructions to contracting transport maps. In dimensions $d\geq5$, the weighted counterexamples can be chosen to satisfy $\operatorname{Ric}_g\geq 0$ and $\nabla_g^2 V \geq g$ separately. In dimension two, we use inverse mean curvature flow to construct a contracting transport map from the suitably rescaled round sphere to every closed connected Riemannian surface satisfying the same positive Ricci curvature lower bound. This implies the spectral comparison in dimension two. Together with the recent counterexample in dimension three by Lin, Wang, and Xu [LWX26], this settles the spherical spectral comparison in every dimension $d\geq2$. Using the same method, we also construct a contracting transport from the uniform probability measure on a hemisphere onto the normalized uniform measure on any geodesically convex subset of positive volume, thereby answering affirmatively the remaining case of a conjecture by Beck and Jerison [BJ21] following the work of Fathi, Fradelizi, Gozlan, and Zugmeyer [FFGZ26].

On the Calabi-Yau Conjectures for Minimal Hypersurfaces in Higher Dimensions

In this paper, we study the Calabi-Yau conjectures for complete minimal hypersurfaces $\Sigma^{n}\subset \mathbb{R}^{n+1}$ in dimensions $n\ge 3$. These conjectures ask whether a complete minimal hypersurface must be unbounded, and more strongly, whether it must be proper. For the unboundedness question, we prove a chord-arc estimate for an embedded minimal disk with bounded curvature, showing that intrinsic distance is controlled by a polynomial of the extrinsic distance. On the other hand, using gluing techniques, we construct a complete, improperly embedded minimal hypersurface in $\mathbb{R}^{n+1}$ for every $n\ge 3$. This example shows that the properness conjecture suggested by the deep work of Colding-Minicozzi [CM08] in the case $n=2$ fails in higher dimensions.

Continuous-in-time Bubbling for the Energy-Critical Heat Flow

We show that any finite energy solution of the energy-critical nonlinear heat flow in dimensions $d\geq 3$ asymptotically resolves into a sum of possibly time-dependent solitons, a weak limit when the flow exists for finite time, and an error term that vanishes in the energy space. As a consequence, under the additional assumption that the initial data is nonnegative, we settle the Soliton Resolution Conjecture.

Entropic Selection Principle for Monge's Optimal Transport

We investigate the small regularization limit of entropic optimal transport when the cost function is the Euclidean distance in dimensions $d > 1$, and the marginal measures are absolutely continuous with respect to the Lebesgue measure. Our results establish that the limiting optimal transport plan is supported on transport rays. Furthermore, within each transport ray, the limiting transport plan uniquely minimizes a relative entropy functional with respect to specific reference measures supported on the rays. This provides a complete and unique characterization of the limiting transport plan. While similar results have been obtained for $d = 1$ in \cite{Marino} and for discrete measures in \cite{peyr\'e2020computationaloptimaltransport}, this work resolves the previously open case in higher dimensions $d>1.$

Free energy minimizers with radial densities: classification and quantitative stability

We study the isoperimetric problem with a potential energy $g$ in $\mathbb{R}^n$ weighted by a radial density $f$ and analyze the geometric properties of minimizers. Notably, we construct two counterexamples demonstrating that, in contrast to the classical isoperimetric case $g = 0$, the condition $\ln(f)'' + g' \geq 0$ does not generally guarantee the global optimality of centered spheres. However, we demonstrate that centered spheres are globally optimal when both $f$ and $g$ are monotone. Additionally, we strengthen this result by deriving a sharp quantitative stability inequality.

Trend to equilibrium for flows with random diffusion

Motivated by the possibility of noise to cure equations of finite-time blowup, recent work arXiv:2109.09892 by the second and third named authors showed that with quantifiable high probability, random diffusion restores global existence for a large class of active scalar equations in arbitrary dimension with possibly singular velocity fields. This class includes Hamiltonian flows, such as the SQG equation and its generalizations, and gradient flows, such as the Patlak-Keller-Segel equation. A question left open is the asymptotic behavior of the solutions, in particular, whether they converge to a steady state. We answer this question by showing that the solutions from arXiv:2109.09892 in the periodic setting converge in Gevrey norm exponentially fast to the uniform distribution as time $t\rightarrow\infty$.

Stability of Hardy Littlewood Sobolev Inequality under Bubbling

In this note we will generalize the results deduced in arXiv:1905.08203 and arXiv:2103.15360 to fractional Sobolev spaces. In particular we will show that for $s\in (0,1)$, $n>2s$ and $\nu\in \mathbb{N}$ there exists constants $\delta = \delta(n,s,\nu)>0$ and $C=C(n,s,\nu)>0$ such that for any function $u\in \dot{H}^s(\mathbb{R}^n)$ satisfying, \begin{align*} \left\| u-\sum_{i=1}^{\nu} \tilde{U}_{i}\right\|_{\dot{H}^s} \leq \delta \end{align*} where $\tilde{U}_{1}, \tilde{U}_{2},\cdots \tilde{U}_{\nu}$ is a $\delta-$interacting family of Talenti bubbles, there exists a family of Talenti bubbles $U_{1}, U_{2},\cdots U_{\nu}$ such that \begin{align*} \left\| u-\sum_{i=1}^{\nu} U_{i}\right\|_{\dot{H}^s} \leq C\left\{\begin{array}{ll} \Gamma & \text { if } 2s < n < 6s,\\ \Gamma|\log \Gamma|^{\frac{1}{2}} & \text { if } n=6s, \\ \Gamma^{\frac{p}{2}} & \text { if } n > 6s \end{array}\right. \end{align*} for $\Gamma=\left\|\Delta u+u|u|^{p-1}\right\|_{H^{-s}}$ and $p=2^*-1=\frac{n+2s}{n-2s}.$

Existence of two-solitary waves with logarithmic distance for the nonlinear Klein-Gordon equation

$\newcommand\normt[1]{\left\lVert#1\right\rVert_{L^2}} \newcommand\normo[1]{\left\lVert#1\right\rVert_{H^1}} \newcommand\normpro[1]{\left\lVert#1\right\rVert_{E}}$ We consider the focusing nonlinear Klein-Gordon (NLKG) equation \begin{equation*} \partial_{tt}u - \Delta u + u - |u|^{p-1}u = 0,\quad (t,x)\in \mathbb{R}\times \mathbb{R}^d \end{equation*} for $1\leq d\leq 5$ and $p>2$ subcritical for the $\dot H^1$ norm. In this paper we show the existence of a solution $u(t)$ of the equation such that \begin{equation*} \normo{u(t) - \sum_{k=1,2}Q_k(t)} + \normt{\partial_t u(t)} \to 0\quad \mbox{as $t\to +\infty$,} \end{equation*} where $Q_k(t,x)$ are two solitary waves of the equation with translations $z_k:\mathbb{R}\to \mathbb{R}^d$ satisfying \begin{equation*} |z_1(t) - z_2(t)| \sim 2\log(t)\quad \text{as } t\to +\infty. \end{equation*}
