Stability analysis of an interacting holographic dark energy model

The present work deals with dynamical system analysis of Holographic Dark Energy cosmological model with different infra-red (IR)-cutoff. By suitable transformation of variables the Einstein field equations are converted to an autonomous system. The critical points are determined and the stability of the equilibrium points are examined by Center Manifold Theory and Liapunov function method. Possible bifurcation scenarios have also been explained.

Dynamical System Analysis of a Three Fluid Cosmological Model : An Invariant Manifold approach

The present paper considers a three-fluid cosmological model consisting of noninteracting dark matter, dark energy and baryonic matter in the background of the Friedmann- Robertson- Walker- Lemaitre flat spacetime. It has been assumed that the dark matter takes the form of dust whereas the dark energy is a quintessence (real) scalar field with exponential potential. It has been further assumed that the baryonic matter is a perfect fluid with barotropic equation of states. The field equations for this model takes the form of an autonomous dynamical system after some suitable changes of variables. Then a complete stability analysis is done considering all possible parameter (the adiabatic index of the baryonic matter and the parameter arising from the dark energy potential) values and for both the cases of hyperbolic and non-hyperbolic critical points. For non-hyperbolic critical points, the invariant manifold theory (center manifold approach) is applied. Finally various topologically different phase planes and vector field diagrams are produced and the cosmological interpretation of this model is presented.

Variable $G$ and $Λ$ gravity theory and analytical Cosmological Solutions using Noether symmetry approach

The present work deals with scalar field cosmology in the framework of a quantum gravity modified Einstein-Hilbert Lagrangian with variable $G$ and $Λ$. Using Renormalization group, variable $G$ behaves as a minimally coupled filed (not the scalar-tensor theory) and variable $Λ$ can be interpreted as a potential function. The point Lagrangian for this model in the background of homogeneous and isotropic flat FLRW space-time model experiences point-like Noether symmetry and equivalent potential function $Λ(G)$ is determined. Using a point transformation in the $3D$ augmented space is found that one of the variable become cyclic and as a consequence there is considerable simplification to the physical system. Lastly, the constants of motion can be written in compact form and it is possible to have analytic cosmological solutions in the present context.

Stability of a scalar potential under gravity

In the present note we show that the thin-wall approximation is not an assumption rather a necessary condition for satisfying Boucher's criteria for gravitational stability of the scalar potential.

Interacting scenarios with dynamical dark energy: observational constraints and alleviation of the $H_0$ tension

We investigate interacting scenarios which belong to a wider class, since they include a dynamical dark energy component whose equation of state follows various one-parameter parametrizations. We confront them with the latest observational data from Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB), Joint light-curve (JLA) sample from Supernovae Type Ia, Baryon Acoustic Oscillations (BAO), Hubble parameter measurements from Cosmic Chronometers (CC) and a gaussian prior on the Hubble parameter $H_0$. In all examined scenarios we find a non-zero interaction, nevertheless the non-interacting case is allowed within 2$σ$. Concerning the current value of the dark energy equation of state for all combination of datasets it always lies in the phantom regime at more than two/three standard deviations. Finally, for all interacting models, independently of the combination of datasets considered, the estimated values of the present Hubble parameter $H_0$ are greater compared to the $Λ$CDM-based Planck's estimation and close to the local measurements, thus alleviating the $H_0$ tension.

Interacting dark energy model in the brane scenario: A Dynamical System Analysis

The present work is a second in the series of investigation of the background dynamics in brane cosmology when dark energy is coupled to dark matter by a suitable interaction. Here, dark matter is chosen in the form of perfect fluid with barotropic equation of state while a real scalar field with self interacting potential is chosen as dark energy. The scalar field potential is chosen as exponential or hyperbolic in nature and three different choices for the interaction between the dark species are considered. In the background of spatially flat, homogeneous and isotropic Friedmann-Robertson-Walker (FRW) brane model, the evolution equations are reduced to an autonomous system by suitable transformation of variables and a series of critical points are obtained for different interactions. By analyzing the critical points, we have found cosmologically viable model describing an early inflationary scenario to dark energy dominated era connecting through a matter dominated phase.

Quantum cosmology for non-minimally coupled scalar field in FLRW space-time: A symmetry analysis

The present work deals with quantum cosmology for non-minimally coupled scalar field in the background of FLRW space--time model. The Wheeler-DeWitt equation is constructed and symmetry analysis is carried out. The Lie point symmetries are related to the conformal algebra of the minisuperspace while solution of the Wheeler-DeWitt equation is obtained using conserved currents of the Noether symmetries.

Spherically symmetric wormhole solutions in a general anisotropic matter field

The present work is an attempt to find possible traversable wormhole solutions in static spherically symmetric space-time supported by anisotropic matter field. Part of the work could be considered as a generalization of the work in Phys. Lett. B 757 (2016), 130 in the sense that it extends the work done therein. The paper provides several examples of wormholes in anisotropic pressure and provides general mechanisms for finding them. Finally the work examines the energy conditions corresponding to suggested wormhole solutions.

Observational constraints on one-parameter dynamical dark-energy parametrizations and the $H_0$ tension

The phenomenological parametrizations of dark-energy (DE) equation of state can be very helpful, since they allow for the investigation of its cosmological behavior despite the fact that its underlying theory is unknown. However, although there has been a large amount of research on DE parametrizations which involve two or more free parameters, the one-parameter parametrizations seem to be underestimated. We perform a detailed observational confrontation of five one-parameter DE models, with observational data from cosmic microwave background (CMB), Joint light-curve analysis sample from Supernovae Type Ia observations (JLA), baryon acoustic oscillations (BAO) distance measurements, and cosmic chronometers (CC). We find that all models favor a phantom DE equation of state at present time, while they lead to $H_0$ values in perfect agreement with its direct measurements and therefore they offer an alleviation to the $H_0$-tension. Finally, performing a Bayesian analysis we show that although $Λ$CDM cosmology is still favored, one-parameter DE models have similar or better efficiency in fitting the data comparing to two-parameter DE parametrizations, and thus they deserve a thorough investigation.

Wormhole Solutions in Rastall Gravity Theory

The present work looks for new wormhole solutions in the non conservative Rastall gravity. Although Rastall gravity is considered to be a higher dimensional gravity, the actual diversion from general relativity essentially happens due to a modification in the corresponding matter tensor part. Thus it would be interesting to find out if such non minimal coupling has any effect on the traversable wormholes and their corresponding energy conditions.

Universe consisting of diffusive dark fluids: thermodynamics and stability analysis

The present work deals with homogeneous and isotropic FLRW model of the Universe having a system of non-interacting diffusive cosmic fluids with barotropic equation of state (constant or variable equation of state parameter). Due to diffusive nature of the cosmic fluids, the divergence of the energy momentum tensor is chosen to be proportional to the diffusive current. The thermodynamic stability analysis of individual fluids is done and the stability conditions are expressed as restrictions on the equation of state parameter.

Dynamical system analysis of Quintom Dark Energy Model

The present work deals with dynamical system analysis of a Quintom Model of Dark Energy. By suitable transformation of variables the Einstein field equations are converted to an autonomous system. The critical points are determined and stability of hyperbolic critical points are determined by Hartman-Grobman theorem. To analyze non-hyperbolic critical points different tools (notably Center Manifold theory) are used. Possible bifurcation scenarios have also been explained.

Dynamical system analysis of Einstein-Skyrme model in a Kantowski-Sachs spacetime

We consider a Skyrme fluid with a constant radial profile in locally rotational Kantowski-Sachs spacetime. We choose a suitable change of variable so that the Field equations modified to an autonomous system. Then we finds the critical points and inspect the stability of them. Finally, the flow on the Poincar{é} sphere is shown and consequently the behavior at infinity is determined. To analyze the non-hyperbolic critical points Center Manifold Theory has been used. Possible bifurcation scenarios also have been explained.

Does fractal Universe describe a complete cosmic scenario?

The present work deals with evolution of the fractal model of the Universe in the background of homogeneous and isotropic FLRW space--time geometry. The cosmic substrum is taken as perfect fluid with barotropic equation of state. A general prescription for the deceleration parameter is determined and it is examined whether the deceleration parameter may have more than one transition during the evolution of the fractal Universe for monomial form of the fractal function as a function of the scale factor. Finally, the model has been examined by making comparison with the observed data.

Cosmic scenarios in $f(R)$ gravity: a complete evolution

The paper deals with $f(R)$ gravity theory in the background of inhomogeneous FLRW--type space time model. With proper choice of the inhomogeneous metric function it is possible to have an emergent scenario for the $f(R)$--cosmology. Explicit form of $f(R)$ is obtained for power law expansion. It has been shown that the present $f(R)$ gravity model is equivalent to some particle creation mechanism in Einstein gravity. Further a complete cosmic evolution from inflation to present late time acceleration is possible with proper continuous choices of the $f(R)$--functions. Finally, in the perspective of thermodynamical analysis a form of $f(R)$ has been evaluated using the unified first law.

Cosmological consequences in the framework of generalized Rastall theory of gravity

The paper deals with generalized Rastall theory of gravity and its cosmological consequences in the background of homogeneous and isotropic flat FLRW model with perfect fluid as the matter context. The model shows a non singular era (emergent scenario) at the early phase of expansion for a particular choice of the Rastall parameter. Also the model finds to be equivalent to the particle creation mechanism in Einstein gravity in the framework of non-equilibrium thermodynamics. Universal thermodynamics is briefly presented and it is found that the entropy function in Rastall theory is the usual Bekenstein entropy and there is no correction to it. Finally, a complete cosmic history starting from inflation to late time acceleration is presented for suitable choices of the Rastall parameter.

Large-scale (in-) stability Analysis of an Exactly Solved Coupled Dark-Energy Model

Assuming a non-gravitational interaction amongst the dark fluids of our universe namely, the dark matter and dark energy, we study a specific interaction model in the background of a spatially flat Friedmann-Lemaître-Robertson-Walker geometry. The interaction model, as we found, solves the background evolution in an analytic way when the dark energy takes a constant barotropic equation of state, $w_x$. In particular, we analyze two separate interaction scenarios, namely, when the dark energy is a fluid other than the vacuum energy (i.e., $w_x \neq -1$) and when it is vacuum energy itself (i.e., $w_x = -1$). We found that the interacting model with $w_x \neq -1$ produces stable perturbation at large scales for $w_x < -1$ with the coupling strength $ξ<0$. Both the scenarios have been constrained with the latest astronomical data having distinct origin. The analyses show that a very small interaction with coupling strength is allowed and within 68.3\% confidence-region, $ξ=0$ is recovered. The analyses further show that a large coupling strength significantly affects the large scale dynamics of the universe while according to the observational data the interaction models are very well consistent with the $Λ$-cosmology. Furthermore, we observe that for the vacuum interaction scenario, the tension on $H_0$ is not released while for the interacting dark energy scenario with $w_x < -1$, the tension on $H_0$ seems to be released partially because of the high error bars in $H_0$. Finally, we close the work with the Bayesian evidence which shows that the $Λ$CDM cosmology is favored over the two interacting scenarios.

On the trajectories of null and timelike geodesics in different wormhole geometries

The paper deals with an extensive study of null and timelike geodesics in the background of wormhole geometries. Starting with a spherically symmetric spacetime, null geodesics are analyzed for the Morris-Thorne wormhole(WH) and photon spheres are examined in WH geometries. Both bounded and unbounded orbits are discussed for timelike geodesics. A similar analysis has been done for trajectories in a dynamic spherically symmetric WH and for a rotating WH. Finally, the invariant angle method of Rindler and Ishak has been used to calculate the angle between radial and tangential vectors at any point on the photon's trajectory.
