HypExp 2, Expanding Hypergeometric Functions about Half-Integer Parameters

In this article, we describe a new algorithm for the expansion of hypergeometric functions about half-integer parameters. The implementation of this algorithm for certain classes of hypergeometric functions in the already existing Mathematica package HypExp is described. Examples of applications in Feynman diagrams with up to four loops are given.

B, D and K decays

With the advent of the LHC, we will be able to probe New Physics (NP) up to energy scales almost one order of magnitude larger than it has been possible with present accelerator facilities. While direct detection of new particles will be the main avenue to establish the presence of NP at the LHC, indirect searches will provide precious complementary information, since most probably it will not be possible to measure the full spectrum of new particles and their couplings through direct production. In particular, precision measurements and computations in the realm of flavour physics are expected to play a key role in constraining the unknown parameters of the Lagrangian of any NP model emerging from direct searches at the LHC. The aim of Working Group 2 was twofold: on one hand, to provide a coherent, up-to-date picture of the status of flavour physics before the start of the LHC; on the other hand, to initiate activities on the path towards integrating information on NP from high-pT and flavour data.

Recent developments in radiative B decays

We report on recent theoretical progress in radiative B decays. We focus on a calculation of logarithmically enhanced QED corrections to the branching ratio and forward-backward asymmetry in the inclusive rare decay anti-B --> X(s) l+ l-, and present the results of a detailed phenomenological analysis. We also report on the calculation of NNLO QCD corrections to the inclusive decay anti-B --> X(s) gamma. As far as exclusive modes are concerned we consider transversity amplitudes and the impact of right-handed currents in the exclusive anti-B --> K^* l+ l- decay. Finally, we state results for exclusive B --> V gamma decays, notably the time-dependent CP-asymmetry in the exclusive B --> K^* gamma decay and its potential to serve as a so-called ``null test'' of the Standard Model, and the extraction of CKM and unitarity triangle parameters from B --> (rho,omega) gamma and B --> K^* gamma decays.

Master Integrals for Massless Three-Loop Form Factors: One-Loop and Two-Loop Insertions

The three-loop form factors in massless QCD can be expressed as a linear combination of master integrals. Besides a number of master integrals which factorise into products of one-loop and two-loop integrals, one finds 16 genuine three-loop integrals. Of these, six have the form of a bubble insertion inside a one-loop or two-loop vertex integral. We compute all master integrals with these insertion topologies.

B -> X_s l+ l- in the Standard Model and in Two-Higgs-Doublet Models

We present recent results of the rare semileptonic decay B -> X_s l+ l-. We particularly focus on higher order electroweak corrections in the Standard Model (SM) as well as O(alpha_s) corrections in Two-Higgs-doublet models (THDM), both of which are computed within an effective field theory approach. The calculation of higher order electroweak corrections reveals the presence of enhanced electromagnetic logarithms log(m_b^2/m_l^2) in the differential branching ratio. The inclusion of O(alpha_s) in the THDM reduces the scale dependence of the corresponding Wilson coefficients significantly.

HypExp, a Mathematica package for expanding hypergeometric functions around integer-valued parameters

We present the Mathematica package HypExp which allows to expand hypergeometric functions $_JF_{J-1}$ around integer parameters to arbitrary order. At this, we apply two methods, the first one being based on an integral representation, the second one on the nested sums approach. The expansion works for both symbolic argument $z$ and unit argument. We also implemented new classes of integrals that appear in the first method and that are, in part, yet unknown to Mathematica.
