On a particular scaling for the prototype anisotropic p-Laplacian

In this brief note we show that under a volume non-preserving scaling it is possible to recover the basics for a regularity theory regarding local weak solutions to a parabolic fully anisotropic equation. We characterize self-similar solutions regarding this particular scaling and we show that semi-continuity for solutions to this equation is a consequence of a simple property that is itself invariant under scaling.

A general notion of uniform ellipticity and the regularity of the stress field for elliptic equations in divergence form

For solutions of ${\rm div}\,(DF(Du))=f$ we show that the quasiconformality of $z\mapsto DF(z)$ is the key property leading to the Sobolev regularity of the stress field $DF(Du)$, in relation with the summability of $f$. This class of nonlinearities encodes in a general way the notion of uniform ellipticity and encompasses all known instances where the stress field is known to be Sobolev regular. We provide examples showing the optimality of this assumption and present three applications: the study of the strong locality of the operator ${\rm div}\,(DF(Du))$, a nonlinear Cordes condition for equations in divergence form, and some partial results on the $C^{p'}$-conjecture.

Strongly singular convective elliptic equations in RN driven by a non-homogeneous operator

Existence of a generalized solution to a strongly singular convective elliptic equation in the whole space is established. The differential operator, patterned after the (p,q)-Laplacian, can be non-homogeneous. The result is obtained by solving some regularized problems through fixed point theory, variational methods and compactness results, besides exploiting nonlinear regularity theory and comparison principles.

Existence of entire solutions for singular quasilinear convective elliptic systems

The existence of entire solutions to quasilinear elliptic systems exhibiting both singular and convective reaction terms is discussed. An auxiliary problem, obtained by `freezing' the convection terms and `shifting' the singular ones, is first solved. Then, a priori estimates, fixed point arguments, nonlinear regularity, compactness results concerning the gradient terms, besides a regularization-localization procedure, yield the existence of a weak solution to the problem.

Singular quasilinear elliptic problems with convection terms

In this paper we present some very recent results regarding existence, uniqueness, and multiplicity of solutions for quasilinear elliptic equations and systems, exhibiting both singular and convective reaction terms. The importance of boundary conditions (Dirichlet, Neumann, or Robin) is also discussed. Existence is achieved via sub-supersolution and truncation techniques, fixed point theory, nonlinear regularity, and set-valued analysis, while uniqueness and multiplicity are obtained by monotonicity arguments.

Singular quasilinear convective elliptic systems in $R^N$

The existence of a positive entire weak solution to a singular quasi-linear elliptic system with convection terms is established, chiefly through perturbation techniques, fixed point arguments, and a priori estimates. Some regularity results are then employed to show that the obtained solution is actually strong.

On a singular Robin problem with convection terms

In this paper, the existence of smooth positive solutions to a Robin boundary-value problem with non-homogeneous differential operator and reaction given by a nonlinear convection term plus a singular one is established. Proofs chiefly exploit sub-super-solution and truncation techniques, set-valued analysis, recursive methods, nonlinear regularity theory, as well as fixed point arguments. A uniqueness result is also presented.
