Implication of the hidden sub-GeV bosons for the $(g-2)_μ$, $^8$Be-$^4$He anomaly, proton charge radius, EDM of fermions and dark axion portal

We discuss new physics phenomenology of hidden scalar ($S$), pseudoscalar ($P$), vector ($V$) and axial-vector ($A$) particles coupled to nucleons and leptons, which could give contributions to proton charge radius, $(g-2)_μ$, $^8$Be-$^4$He anomaly and electric dipole moment (EDM) of Standard Model (SM) particles. In particular, we estimate sensitivity of NA64$μ$ experiment to observe muon missing energy events involving hidden scalar and vector particles. That analysis is based on {\tt GEANT4} Monte Carlo simulation of the signal process of muon scattering off target nuclei $μN \to μN S(V)$ followed by invisible boson decay into Dark Matter (DM) particles, $S(V)\to χχ$. The existence of light sub-GeV bosons could possibly explain the muon $(g-2)$ anomaly observed. We also summarize existing bounds on ATOMKI $X17(J^P=0^-, 1^\pm)$ boson coupling with neutron, proton and electron. We implement these constraints to estimate the contribution of $P$, $V$ and $A$ particles to proton charge radius via direct 1-loop calculation of Sachs form factors. The analysis reveals the corresponding contribution is negligible. We also calculate bounds on dark axion portal couplings of dimension-five operators, which contribute to the EDMs of leptons and neutron.

Scaling of PDFs, TMDs, and GPDs in soft-wall AdS/QCD

We explicitly demonstrate how to correctly define the hadronic parton distributions (PDFs, TMDs, and GPDs) in the soft-wall AdS/QCD approach, based on the use of a quadratic dilaton field, providing confinement and spontaneous breaking of conformal and chiral symmetries. The power behavior of parton distributions at large values of the light-cone variable is consistent with quark counting rules and Drell-Yan-West duality. All parton distributions are defined in terms of profile functions, which depend on the light-cone coordinate and are fixed from PDFs and electromagnetic form factors.

Towards the decay properties of deuteron-like state $d_{NΩ}$

Recent lattice QCD calculations showed that a $d_{NΩ}$ dibaryon state similar to the deuteron with small binding energy may exist. In this work we propose a hadronic molecular approach to study the dynamical properties of this exotic state. We use a phenomenological Lagrangian approach to describe the coupling of the $d_{NΩ}$ state to its constituents and the decays into conventional hadrons, $d_{NΩ} \to ΛΞ$ and $d_{NΩ} \to ΣΞ$. Predictions for the sum of the decay rates are in the range of a few hundred keV. In addition, we find that the $d_{NΩ} \to ΛΞ$ mode is dominant, preferably searched for in a future RHIC experiment.

Deuteron EDM induced by CP violating couplings of pseudoscalar mesons

We analyze contributions to the electric dipole (EDM) and Schiff (SFM) moments of deuteron induced by the CP-violating three-pseudoscalar meson couplings using phenomenological Lagrangian approach involving nucleons and pseudoscalar mesons $P=π, K, η, η'$. Deuteron is considered as a proton-neutron bound state and its properties are defined by one- and two-body forces. One-body forces correspond to a picture there proton and neutron are quasi free constituents of deuteron and their contribution to the deuteron EDM (dEDM) is simply the sum of proton and neutron EDMs. Two-body forces in deuteron are induced by one-meson exchange between nucleons. They produce a contribution to the dEDM, which is estimated using corresponding potential approach. From numerical analysis of nucleon and deuteron EDMs we derive stringent limits on CP-violating hadronic couplings and $\barθ$ parameter. We showed that proposed measurements of proton and deuteron EDMs at level of $\sim 10^{-29}$ by the Store Ring EDM and JEDI Collaborations will provide more stringent upper limits on the CP violating parameters.

We present a study of the $N^*(1535)$ resonance electroexcitation in a soft-wall AdS/QCD model. Both the transverse $A_{1/2}^p$ and longitudinal $S_{1/2}^p$ helicity amplitudes are calculated resulting in good agreement with data and with the MAID parametrization.

Electromagnetic properties of the nucleon and the Roper resonance in soft-wall AdS/QCD at finite temperature

We present a study of the nucleon electromagnetic form factors and of the Roper-nucleon transition at finite small temperature $T$, using an extended version of a soft-wall AdS/QCD approach developed by us previously. In the action we introduce the effective potential, which has quadratic dependence on the holographic coordinate $z$ and depends on both the gluon and quark condensates. Choosing the AdS geometry we restrict ourselves to the AdS Poincaré metric, because the contribution of the AdS-Schwarzschild geometry starts at next-to-leading order ${\cal O}(T^4)$. Hence, one can neglect the temperature dependence of the AdS geometry at small $T$. This is consistent with the Hawking-Page phase transition at a critical temperature representing the transition between thermal AdS/QCD and AdS-Schwarzschild geometry. In the small temperature regime we base our analysis on the temperature dependence of the effective potential, which starts at order ${\cal O}(T^2)$, due to the leading contribution from the quark condensate. As applications we present the analysis of properties of the nucleon and Roper resonance (masses, form factors, and helicity amplitudes) at low temperatures.

Analysis of the semileptonic and nonleptonic two-body decays of the double heavy charm baryon states $Ξ_{cc}^{++},\,Ξ_{cc}^{+}$ and $Ω_{cc}^+$

We calculate the semileptonic and a subclass of sixteen nonleptonic two-body decays of the double charm baryon ground states $Ξ_{cc}^{++},\,Ξ_{cc}^{+}$ and $Ω_{cc}^+$ where we concentrate on the nonleptonic decay modes. We identify those nonleptonic decay channels in which the decay proceeds solely via the factorizing contribution precluding a contamination from $W$-exchange. We use the covariant confined quark model previously developed by us to calculate the various helicity amplitudes which describe the dynamics of the $1/2^+ \to 1/2^+$ and $1/2^+ \to 3/2^+$ transitions induced by the Cabibbo favored effective $(c \to s)$ and $(d \to u)$ currents. We then proceed to calculate the rates of the decays as well as polarization effects and angular decay distributions of the prominent decay chains resulting from the nonleptonic decays of the double heavy charm baryon parent states.

Structure and decays of hidden heavy pentaquarks

We study the hadronic molecular structure of hidden heavy pentaquarks - new exotic states composed of charmed/bottom baryons and $D(D^*)/B(B^*)$ mesons. Based on the observation of three pentaquark candidates $P_c^+(4312)$, $P_c^+(4440)$, and $P_c^+(4457)$ by the LHCb Collaboration we consider the classification of possible flavor partners composed of charmed baryons and $D(D^*)$ mesons within the hadronic molecular approach. We extend this classification to the bottom sector. Using phenomenological Lagrangians we construct baryon-meson bound states governed by the Weinberg-Salam compositeness condition. As an application we consider strong two-body decays of the new exotic states into a light baryon and $V=J/ψ,Υ$ or $P=η_c,η_b$ mesons. Results are presented in the heavy quark limit.

Transition form factors and helicity amplitudes for electroexcitation of negative- and positive parity nucleon resonances in a light-front quark model

A workable basis of quark configurations $s^3$, $s^2p$ and $sp^2$ at light front has been constructed to describe the high-$Q^2$ behavior of transition form factors and helicity amplitudes in the electroproduction of the lightest nucleon resonances, $N_{1/2^-}(1535)$ and $N_{1/2^+}(1440)$. High-quality data of the CLAS Collaboration are described in the framework of a model which takes into account mixing of the quark configurations and the hadron-molecular states. The model allows for a rough estimate of the quark core weight in the wave function of the resonance in a comparison with high momentum transfer data on resonance electroproduction.

Baryons in a soft-wall AdS-Schwarzschild approach at low temperature

Recently we derived a soft-wall AdS-Schwarzschild approach at small temperatures for the description of hadrons with integer spin and adjustable number of constituents (mesons, tetraquarks, dibaryons, etc.). In the present paper we extend our formalism to states with half-integer spin (baryons, pentaquarks, etc.), presenting analytical results for the temperature dependence of their masses and form factors.

Novel ideas in nonleptonic decays of double heavy baryons

The recent discovery of double charm baryon states by the LHCb Collaborarion and their high precision mass determination calls for a comprehensive analysis of the nonleptonic decays of double and single heavy baryons. Nonleptonic baryon decays play an important role in particle phenomenology since they allow to study the interplay of long and short distance dynamics of the Standard Model (SM). Further, they allow one to search for New Physics effects beyond the SM. We review recent progress in experimental and theoretical studies of the nonleptonic decays of heavy baryons with a focus on double charm baryon states and their decays. In particular, we discuss new ideas proposed by the present authors to calculate the $W$-exchange matrix elements of the nonleptonic decays of double heavy baryons. An important ingredient in our approach is the compositeness condition of Salam and Weinberg, and an effective implementation of infrared confinement both of which allow one to describe the nonperturbative structure of baryons composed of light and heavy quarks. Further we discuss an ab initio calculational method for the treatment of the so-called $W$-exchange diagrams generated by $W^{\pm}$ boson exchange between quarks. We found that the $W^{\pm}$-exchange contributions are not suppressed in comparison with the tree-level (factrorizing) diagrams and must be taken into account in the evaluation of matrix elements. Moreover, there are decay processes such as the doubly Cabibbo-suppressed decay $Ξ_c^+ \to p ϕ$ recently observed by the LHCb Collaboration which is contributed to only by one single $W$-exchange diagram.

Updated limits on the CP violating $ηππ$ and $η'ππ$ couplings derived from the neutron EDM

We complete our derivation of upper limits on the CP violating $ηππ$ and $η'ππ$ couplings from an analysis of their two-loop contributions to the neutron electric dipole moment (nEDM). We use a phenomenological Lagrangian approach which is formulated in terms of hadronic degrees of freedom - nucleons and pseudoscalar mesons. The essential part of the Lagrangian contains the CP violating couplings between $η(η')$ and pions. Previously, we included photons using minimal substitution in case of the proton and charged pions. Now we extend our Lagrangian by adding the nonminimal couplings, i.e. anomalous magnetic couplings of nucleons with the photon. The obtained numerical upper limits for the $ηππ$ and $η'ππ$ couplings $|f_{ηππ}(M_η^2)|<4.4 \times10^{-11}$ and $|f_{η^\primeππ}(M_{η'}^2)|<3.8 \times10^{-11}$ can be useful for the related, planned experiments at the JLab Eta Factory. Using present experimental limits on the nEDM, we derive upper limits on the CP violating $\barθ$ parameter of $\bar{\mathrmθ}<4.7 \times 10^{-10}$.

Mesons in a soft-wall AdS-Schwarzschild approach at low temperature

We derive a holographic soft-wall approach in five dimensional AdS-Schwarzschild space for the description of mesons at finite temperature. In this first application we consider the small temperature limit and derive analytical expression for the mass spectrum of mesons with adjustable quantum numbers $n$ (radial number), $L$ (angular orbital momentum) and $J$ (total angular momentum). We explicitly separate the contribution at zero temperature and the leading order temperature correction. The temperature corrections arise from the temperature dependence of the dilaton parameter (which is the parameter of spontaneous breaking of chiral symmetry related to the pseudoscalar meson decay constant) and the warping of the AdS metric due to temperature. We extend our results to any hadron with integer spin (tetraquarks, dibaryons, etc.). We present numerical analysis for the temperature dependence of meson masses and form factors.

Ab initio three-loop calculation of the W-exchange contribution to nonleptonic decays of double charm baryons

We have made an ab initio three-loop quark model calculation of the $W$-exchange contribution to the nonleptonic two-body decays of the doubly charmed baryons $Ξ_{cc}^{++}$ and $Ω_{cc}^{+}$. The $W$-exchange contributions appear in addition to the factorizable tree graph contributions and are not suppressed in general. We make use of the covariant confined quark model previously developed by us to calculate the tree graph as well as the $W$-exchange contribution. We calculate helicity amplitudes and quantitatively compare the tree graph and $W$-exchange contributions. Finally, we compare the calculated decay widths with those from other theoretical approaches when they are available.

Bounds on lepton flavor violating physics and decays of neutral mesons from $τ(μ) \to 3 \ell, \ell γγ$-decays

We study two- and three-body lepton flavor violating (LFV) decays involving leptons and neutral vector bosons $V=ρ^0, ω, ϕ, J/ψ, Υ, Z^0$, as well as pseudo-scalar $P=π^0, η, η', η_c$ and scalar $S=f_0(500), f_0(980), a_0(980), χ_{c0}(1P)$ mesons, without referring to a specific mechanism of LFV realization. In particular, we relate the rates of the three-body LFV decays $τ(μ) \to 3 \ell$, where $\ell = μ$ or $e$, to the two-body LFV decays $(V,P) \to τμ(τe, μe)$, where $V$ and $P$ play the role of intermediate resonances in the decay process $τ(μ) \to 3 \ell$. From the experimental upper bounds for the branching ratios of $τ(μ) \to 3 \ell$ decays, we derive upper limits for the branching ratios of $(V,P) \to τμ(τe, μe)$. We compare our results to the available experimental data and known theoretical upper limits from previous studies of LFV processes, and find that some of our limits are several orders of magnitude more stringent. Using the idea of quark-hadron duality, we extract limits on various quark-lepton dimension-six LFV operators from data on lepton decays. Some of these limits are either new or stronger than those existing in the literature.

Bounds on rare decays of $η$ and $η^\prime$ mesons from the neutron EDM

We provide model-independent bounds on the rates of rare decays $η(η^\prime) \to ππ$ based on experimental limits on the neutron electric dipole moment (nEDM). Starting from phenomenological $η(η^\prime) ππ$ couplings, the nEDM arises at two loop level. The leading-order relativistic ChPT calculation with the minimal photon coupling to charged pions and a proton inside the loops leads to a finite, counter term-free result. This is an improvement upon previous estimates which used approximations in evaluating the two loop contribution and were plagued by divergences. While constraints on the $η(η^\prime) ππ$ couplings in our phenomenological approach are somewhat milder than in the picture with the QCD $θ$-term, our calculation means that whatever the origin of these couplings, The decays $η(η') \to 2 π$ will remain unobservable in the near future.

Nonleptonic two-body decays of single heavy baryons $Λ_Q$, $Ξ_Q$, and $Ω_Q$ $(Q=b,c)$ induced by $W$ emission in the covariant confined quark model

We have made a survey of heavy-to-heavy and heavy-to-light nonleptonic heavy baryon two-body decays and have identified those decays that proceed solely via $W$-boson emission, i.e. via the tree graph contribution. Some sample decays are $Ω_{b}^{-}\toΩ_{c}^{(*)0}ρ^{-}(π^{-}),\, Ω_{b}^{-}\toΩ^{-}J/ψ(η_{c}),\, Ξ_{b}^{0,-}\toΞ^{0,-}J/ψ(η_{c}),\, Λ_{b}\to ΛJ/ψ(η_{c}),\, Λ_{b}\to Λ_{c} D_{s}^{(\ast)},\, Ω_{c}^{0}\toΩ^{-}ρ^{+}(π^{+})$, and $Λ_c \to p ϕ$. We make use of the covariant confined quark model previously developed by us to calculate the tree graph contributions to these decays. We calculate rates, branching fractions and, for some of these decays, decay asymmetry parameters. We compare our results to experimental findings and the results of other theoretical approaches when they are available. Our main focus is on decays to final states with a lepton pair because of their clean experimental signature. For these decays we discuss two-fold polar angle decay distributions such as in the cascade decay $Ω_{b}^{-}\toΩ^{-}(\to Ξπ,ΛK^{-})+J/ψ(\to \ell^{+}\ell^{-})$. Lepton mass effects are always included in our analysis.
