$\mathfrak{sl}_2$-Harish-Chandra modules for $\mathfrak{sl}_2 \ltimes L(4)$

We use analogues of Enright's and Arkhipov's functors to determine the quiver and relations for a category of $\mathfrak{sl}_2 \ltimes L(4)$-modules which are locally finite (and with finite multiplicities) over $\mathfrak{sl}_2$. We also outline serious obstacles to extend our result to $\mathfrak{sl}_2 \ltimes L(k)$, for $k>4$.

Some homological properties of category $\mathcal{O}$, VI

This paper explores various homological regularity phenomena (in the sense of Auslander) in category $\mathcal{O}$ and its several variations and generalizations. Additionally, we address the problem of determining projective dimension of twisted and shuffled projective and tilting modules.

Some homological properties of category $\mathcal{O}$, V

We compute projective dimension of translated simple modules in the regular block of the BGG category $\mathcal{O}$ in terms of Kazhdan-Lusztig combinatorics. This allows us to determine which projectives can appear at the last step of a minimal projective resolution for a translated simple module, confirming a conjecture by Johan Kåhrström. We also derive some inequalities, in terms of Lusztig's $\mathbf{a}$-function, for possible degrees in which the top (or socle) of a translated simple module can live. Finally, we relate Kostant's problem with decomposability and isomorphism of translated simple modules, addressing yet another conjecture by Johan Kåhrström.

Some homological properties of category $\mathcal O$ for Lie superalgebras

For classical Lie superalgebras of type I, we provide necessary and sufficient conditions for a Verma supermodule $Δ(λ)$ to be such that every non-zero homomorphism from another Verma supermodule to $Δ(λ)$ is injective. This is applied to describe the socle of the cokernel of an inclusion of Verma supermodules over the periplectic Lie superalgebras $\mathfrak{pe}(n)$ and, furthermore, to reduce the problem of description of $\mathrm{Ext}^1_{\mathcal O}(L(μ),Δ(λ))$ for $\mathfrak{pe}(n)$ to the similar problem for the Lie algebra $\mathfrak{gl}(n)$. Additionally, we study the projective and injective dimensions of structural supermodules in parabolic category $\mathcal O^{\mathfrak p}$ for classical Lie superalgebras. In particular, we completely determine these dimensions for structural supermodules over the periplectic Lie superalgebra $\mathfrak{pe}(n)$ and the ortho-symplectic Lie superalgebra $\mathfrak{osp}(2|2n)$.

Bigrassmannian permutations and Verma modules

We show that bigrassmannian permutations determine the socle of the cokernel of an inclusion of Verma modules in type $A$. All such socular constituents turn out to be indexed by Weyl group elements from the penultimate two-sided cell. Combinatorially, the socular constituents in the cokernel of the inclusion of a Verma module indexed by $w\in S_n$ into the dominant Verma module are shown to be determined by the essential set of $w$ and their degrees in the graded picture are shown to be computable in terms of the associated rank function. As an application, we compute the first extension from a simple module to a Verma module.

Lie algebra modules which are locally finite over the semi-simple part

For a finite-dimensional Lie algebra $\mathfrak{L}$ over $\mathbb{C}$ with a fixed Levi decomposition $\mathfrak{L} = \mathfrak{g} \oplus \mathfrak{r}$ where $\mathfrak{g}$ is semi-simple, we investigate $\mathfrak{L}$-modules which decompose, as $\mathfrak{g}$-modules, into a direct sum of simple finite-dimensional $\mathfrak{g}$-modules with finite multiplicities. We call such modules $\mathfrak{g}$-Harish-Chandra modules. We give a complete classification of simple $\mathfrak{g}$-Harish-Chandra modules for the Takiff Lie algebra associated to $\mathfrak{g} = \mathfrak{sl}_2$, and for the Schrödinger Lie algebra, and obtain some partial results in other cases. An adapted version of Enright's and Arkhipov's completion functors plays a crucial role in our arguments. Moreover, we calculate the first extension groups of infinite-dimensional simple $\mathfrak{g}$-Harish-Chandra modules and their annihilators in the universal enveloping algebra, for the Takiff $\mathfrak{sl}_2$ and the Schrödinger Lie algebra. In the general case, we give a sufficient condition for the existence of infinite-dimensional simple $\mathfrak{g}$-Harish-Chandra modules.

Adjunction in the absence of identity

We develop a bicategorical setup in which one can speak about adjoint 1-morphisms even in the absence of genuine identity 1-morphisms. We also investigate which part of 2-representation theory of 2-categories extends to this new setup.

On the number of principal ideals in d-tonal partition monoids

For a positive integer $d$, a non-negative integer $n$ and a non-negative integer $h\leq n$, we study the number $C_{n}^{(d)}$ of principal ideals; and the number $C_{n,h}^{(d)}$ of principal ideals generated by an element of rank $h$, in the $d$-tonal partition monoid on $n$ elements. We compute closed forms for the first family, as partial cumulative sums of known sequences. The second gives an infinite family of new integral sequences. We discuss their connections to certain integral lattices as well as to combinatorics of partitions.

Tonal partition algebras: fundamental and geometrical aspects of representation theory

For $l,n \in \mathbb{N}$ we define tonal partition algebra $P^l_n$ over $\mathbb{Z}[δ]$. We construct modules $\{ Δ_{\underlineμ} \}_{\underlineμ}$ for $P^l_n$ over $\mathbb{Z}[δ]$, and hence over any integral domain containing $\mathbb{Z}[δ]$ that is a $\mathbb{Z}[δ]$-algebra (such as $\mathbb{C}[δ]$), that pass to a complete set of irreducible modules over the field of fractions. We show that $P^l_n$ is semisimple there. That is, we construct for the tonal partition algebras a modular system in the sense of Brauer [6]. (The aim is to investigate the non-semisimple structure of the tonal partition algebras over suitable quotient fields of the natural ground ring, from a geometric perspective.) Using a `geometrical' index set for the $Δ$-modules, we give an order with respect to which the decomposition matrix over $\mathbb{C}$ (with $δ\in \mathbb{C}^{\times}$) is upper-unitriangular. We establish several crucial properties of the $Δ$-modules. These include a tower property, with respect to $n$, in the sense of Green [20, §6] and Cox $\textit{ et al}$ [8]; contravariant forms with respect to a natural involutive antiautomorphism; a highest weight category property; and branching rules.

BGG complexes in singular blocks of category O

Using translation from the regular block, we construct and analyze properties of BGG complexes in singular blocks of BGG category ${\mathcal{O}}$. We provide criteria, in terms of the Kazhdan-Lusztig-Vogan polynomials, for such complexes to be exact. In the Koszul dual picture, exactness of BGG complexes is expressed as a certain condition on a generalized Verma flag of an indecomposable projective object in the corresponding block of parabolic category ${\mathcal{O}}$. In the second part of the paper, we construct BGG complexes in a more general setting of balanced quasi-hereditary algebras and show how our results for singular blocks can be used to construct BGG resolutions of simple modules in ${\mathcal{S}}$-subcategories in ${\mathcal{O}}$.

Trihedral Soergel bimodules

The quantum Satake correspondence relates dihedral Soergel bimodules to the semisimple quotient of the quantum $\mathfrak{sl}_2$ representation category. It also establishes a precise relation between the simple transitive $2$-representations of both monoidal categories, which are indexed by bicolored $\mathsf{ADE}$ Dynkin diagrams. Using the quantum Satake correspondence between affine $\mathsf{A}_{2}$ Soergel bimodules and the semisimple quotient of the quantum $\mathfrak{sl}_3$ representation category, we introduce trihedral Hecke algebras and Soergel bimodules, generalizing dihedral Hecke algebras and Soergel bimodules. These have their own Kazhdan-Lusztig combinatorics, simple transitive $2$-representations corresponding to tricolored generalized $\mathsf{ADE}$ Dynkin diagrams.

2-categories of symmetric bimodules and their 2-representations

In this article we analyze the structure of $2$-categories of symmetric projective bimodules over a finite dimensional algebra with respect to the action of a finite abelian group. We determine under which condition the resulting $2$-category is fiat (in the sense of \cite{MM1}) and classify simple transitive $2$-representations of this $2$-category (under some mild technical assumption). We also study several classes of examples in detail.

Simple transitive 2-representations via (co)algebra 1-morphisms

For any fiat 2-category C, we show how its simple transitive 2-representations can be constructed using coalgebra 1-morphisms in the injective abelianization of C. Dually, we show that these can also be constructed using algebra 1-morphisms in the projective abelianization of C. We also extend Morita-Takeuchi theory to our setup and work out several examples explicitly.

Harish-Chandra modules over invariant subalgebras in a skew-group ring

We construct a new class of algebras resembling enveloping algebras and generalizing orthogonal Gelfand-Zeitlin algebras and rational Galois algebras studied by [EMV,FuZ,RZ,Har]. The algebras are defined via a geometric realization in terms of sheaves of functions invariant under an action of a finite group. A natural class of modules over these algebra can be constructed via a similar geometric realization. In the special case of a local reflection group, these modules are shown to have an explicit basis, generalizing similar results for orthogonal Gelfand-Zeitlin algebras from [EMV] and for rational Galois algebras from [FuZ]. We also construct a family of canonical simple Harish-Chandra modules and give sufficient conditions for simplicity of some modules.

Canonical Gelfand-Zeitlin modules over orthogonal Gelfand-Zeitlin algebras

We prove that every orthogonal Gelfand-Zeitlin algebra $U$ acts on its Gelfand-Zeitlin subalgebra $Γ$. Considering the dual module, we show that every Gelfand-Zeitlin character of $Γ$ is realizable in a $U$-module. We observe that the Gelfand-Zeitlin formulae can be rewritten using divided difference operators. It turns out that the action of the latter operators on $Γ$ gives rise to an explicit basis in a certain Gelfand-Zeitlin submodule of the dual module mentioned above. This gives, generically, both in the case of regular and singular Gelfand-Zeitlin characters, an explicit construction of simple modules which realize given Gelfand-Zeitlin characters.

2-representations of small quotients of Soergel bimodules in infinite types

We determine for which Coxeter types the associated small quotient of the $2$-category of Soergel bimodules is finitary and, for such a small quotient, classify the simple transitive $2$-representations (sometimes under the additional assumption of gradability). We also describe the underlying categories of the simple transitive $2$-representations. For the small quotients of general Coxeter types, we give a description for the cell $2$-representations.

Translated simple modules for Lie algebras and simple supermodules for Lie superalgebras

We prove that the tensor product of a simple and a finite dimensional $\mathfrak{sl}_n$-module has finite type socle. This is applied to reduce classification of simple $\mathfrak{q}(n)$-supermodules to that of simple $\mathfrak{sl}_n$-modules. Rough structure of simple $\mathfrak{q}(n)$-supermodules, considered as $\mathfrak{sl}_n$-modules, is described in terms of the combinatorics of category $\mathcal{O}$.

Extreme representations of semirings

This is a write-up of the discussions during the meetings of the study group on representation theory of semirings which was organized at the Department of Mathematics, Uppsala University, during the academic year 2017-2018. The main emphasis is on classification of various classes of "irreducible" representations for various concrete semirings.
