The Impact of Interference Cognition on the Reliability and Capacity of Industrial Wireless Communications

Interference significantly impacts the performance of industrial wireless networks, particularly n severe interference environments with dense networks reusing spectrum resources intensively. Although delicate interference information is often unavailable in conventional networks, emerging interference cognition techniques can compensate this critical problem with possibly different precision. This paper investigates the relationship between precision of interference cognition and system performance. We propose a novel performance analysis framework that quantifies the impact of varying interference information precision on achievable rate. Specifically, leveraging the Nakagami-$\mathbf{m}$ fading channel model, we analytically and asymptotically analyze the average achievable rate in the finite blocklength regime for different precision levels of signal and interference information. Our findings reveal the critical importance of identifying per-link interference information for achieving optimal performance. Additionally, obtaining instantaneous information is more beneficial for signal links.

New Second-order Convergent Schemes for Solving decoupled FBSDEs

This paper proposes a new second-order symmetric algorithm for solving decoupled forward-backward stochastic differential equations. Inspired by the alternating direction implicit splitting method for partial differential equations, we split the generator into the sum of two functions. In the computation of the value process Y, explicit and implicit schemes are alternately applied to these two generators, while the algorithms from \citep{ZhaoLi2014} are used for the control process Z. We rigorously prove that the two new schemes have second-order convergence rate. The proposed splitting methods show clear advantages for equations whose generator consists of a linear part plus a nonlinear part, as they reduce the number of iterations required for solving implicit schemes, thereby decreasing computational cost while maintaining second-order convergence. Two numerical examples are provided, including the backward stochastic Riccati equation arising in mean-variance hedging. The numerical results verify the theoretical error analysis and demonstrate the advantage of reduced computational cost compared to the algorithm in \citep{ZhaoLi2014}.

Learning the Basis: A Kolmogorov-Arnold Network Approach Embedding Green's Function Priors

The Method of Moments (MoM) is constrained by the usage of static, geometry-defined basis functions, such as the Rao-Wilton-Glisson (RWG) basis. This letter reframes electromagnetic modeling around a learnable basis representation rather than solving for the coefficients over a fixed basis. We first show that the RWG basis is essentially a static and piecewise-linear realization of the Kolmogorov-Arnold representation theorem. Inspired by this insight, we propose PhyKAN, a physics-informed Kolmogorov-Arnold Network (KAN) that generalizes RWG into a learnable and adaptive basis family. Derived from the EFIE, PhyKAN integrates a local KAN branch with a global branch embedded with Green's function priors to preserve physical consistency. It is demonstrated that, across canonical geometries, PhyKAN achieves sub-0.01 reconstruction errors as well as accurate, unsupervised radar cross section predictions, offering an interpretable, physics-consistent bridge between classical solvers and modern neural network models for electromagnetic modeling.

Angle-Optimized Partial Disentanglement for Multimodal Emotion Recognition in Conversation

Multimodal Emotion Recognition in Conversation (MERC) aims to enhance emotion understanding by integrating complementary cues from text, audio, and visual modalities. Existing MERC approaches predominantly focus on cross-modal shared features, often overlooking modality-specific features that capture subtle yet critical emotional cues such as micro-expressions, prosodic variations, and sarcasm. Although related work in multimodal emotion recognition (MER) has explored disentangling shared and modality-specific features, these methods typically employ rigid orthogonal constraints to achieve full disentanglement, which neglects the inherent complementarity between feature types and may limit recognition performance. To address these challenges, we propose Angle-Optimized Feature Learning (AO-FL), a framework tailored for MERC that achieves partial disentanglement of shared and specific features within each modality through adaptive angular optimization. Specifically, AO-FL aligns shared features across modalities to ensure semantic consistency, and within each modality it adaptively models the angular relationship between its shared and modality-specific features to preserve both distinctiveness and complementarity. An orthogonal projection refinement further removes redundancy in specific features and enriches shared features with contextual information, yielding more discriminative multimodal representations. Extensive experiments confirm the effectiveness of AO-FL for MERC, demonstrating superior performance over state-of-the-art approaches. Moreover, AO-FL can be seamlessly integrated with various unimodal feature extractors and extended to other multimodal fusion tasks, such as MER, thereby highlighting its strong generalization beyond MERC.

Basis Choices for Frequency Domain Statistical Independence Tests and Algorithms for Algebraic Relation Extraction

In this paper, we explore how different selections of basis functions impact the efficacy of frequency domain techniques in statistical independence tests, and study different algorithms for extracting low-dimensional algebraic relations from dependent data. We examine a range of complete orthonormal bases functions including the Legendre polynomials, Fourier series, Walsh functions, and standard and nonstandard Haar wavelet bases. We utilize fast transformation algorithms to efficiently transform physical domain data to frequency domain coefficients. The main focuses of this paper are the effectiveness of different basis selections in detecting data dependency using frequency domain data, e.g., whether varying basis choices significantly influence statistical power loss for small data with large noise; and on the stability of different optimization formulations for finding proper algebraic relations when data are dependent. We present numerical results to demonstrate the effectiveness of frequency domain-based statistical analysis methods and provide guidance for selecting the proper basis and algorithm to detect a particular type of relations.

LLM Enabled Multi-Agent System for 6G Networks: Framework and Method of Dual-Loop Edge-Terminal Collaboration

The ubiquitous computing resources in 6G networks provide ideal environments for the fusion of large language models (LLMs) and intelligent services through the agent framework. With auxiliary modules and planning cores, LLM-enabled agents can autonomously plan and take actions to deal with diverse environment semantics and user intentions. However, the limited resources of individual network devices significantly hinder the efficient operation of LLM-enabled agents with complex tool calls, highlighting the urgent need for efficient multi-level device collaborations. To this end, the framework and method of the LLM-enabled multi-agent system with dual-loop terminal-edge collaborations are proposed in 6G networks. Firstly, the outer loop consists of the iterative collaborations between the global agent and multiple sub-agents deployed on edge servers and terminals, where the planning capability is enhanced through task decomposition and parallel sub-task distribution. Secondly, the inner loop utilizes sub-agents with dedicated roles to circularly reason, execute, and replan the sub-task, and the parallel tool calling generation with offloading strategies is incorporated to improve efficiency. The improved task planning capability and task execution efficiency are validated through the conducted case study in 6G-supported urban safety governance. Finally, the open challenges and future directions are thoroughly analyzed in 6G networks, accelerating the advent of the 6G era.

Multi-origin driven giant planar Hall effect in topological antiferromagnet EuAl2Si2 with tunable spin texture

In topological materials, the planar Hall effect (PHE) is often regarded as a hallmark of profound quantum phenomena-most notably the Adler-Bell-Jackiw chiral anomaly and Berry curvature-rendering it an indispensable tool for deciphering the topological essence of emergent phases. In this study, we delve into the PHE and anisotropic magnetoresistance in the recently discovered layered topological antiferromagnet EuAl2Si2. Our analysis of the robust PHE signal (~3.8 μΩ cm at 2 K and 8 T) unveils a distinct interplay of mechanisms. While Berry curvature plays a minor role, the dominant contributions stem from classical orbital MR in the field-induced ferromagnetic state and field-suppressed spin fluctuations in the paramagnetic regime. These insights not only position EuAl2Si2-with its highly tunable spin texture-as an exemplary system for probing the intricate coupling between spin configurations and band topology in magnetotransport but also pave the way for designing novel materials with tailored PHE responses, highlighting significant application prospects in quantum sensing, spintronic devices, and topologically protected electronic systems.

Denoising, segmentation and volumetric rendering of optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) image using deep learning techniques: a review

Optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) is a non-invasive imaging technique widely used to study vascular structures and micro-circulation dynamics in the retina and choroid. OCTA has been widely used in clinics for diagnosing ocular disease and monitoring its progression, because OCTA is safer and faster than dye-based angiography while retaining the ability to characterize micro-scale structures. However, OCTA data contains many inherent noises from the devices and acquisition protocols and suffers from various types of artifacts, which impairs diagnostic accuracy and repeatability. Deep learning (DL) based imaging analysis models are able to automatically detect and remove artifacts and noises, and enhance the quality of image data. It is also a powerful tool for segmentation and identification of normal and pathological structures in the images. Thus, the value of OCTA imaging can be significantly enhanced by the DL-based approaches for interpreting and performing measurements and predictions on the OCTA data. In this study, we reviewed literature on the DL models for OCTA images in the latest five years. In particular, we focused on discussing the current problems in the OCTA data and the corresponding design principles of the DL models. We also reviewed the state-of-art DL models for 3D volumetric reconstruction of the vascular networks and pathological structures such as the edema and distorted optic disc. In addition, the publicly available dataset of OCTA images are summarized at the end of this review. Overall, this review can provide valuable insights for engineers to develop novel DL models by utilizing the characteristics of OCTA signals and images. The pros and cons of each DL methods and their applications discussed in this review can be helpful to assist technicians and clinicians to use proper DL models for fundamental research and disease screening.

Two-Timescale Dynamic Service Deployment and Task Scheduling with Spatiotemporal Collaboration in Mobile Edge Networks

Collaborative edge computing addresses the resource constraints of individual edge nodes by enabling resource sharing and task co-processing across multiple nodes. To fully leverage the advantages of collaborative edge computing, joint optimization of service deployment and task scheduling is necessary. Existing optimization methods insufficiently address the collaboration across spatial and temporal dimensions, which hinders their adaptability to the spatiotemporally varying nature of user demands and system states. This paper focuses on optimizing the expected task processing delay in edge networks. We propose a two-timescale online optimization framework to jointly determine: i) service deployment decisions at each large timescale; and ii) task scheduling decisions at each small timescale. Specifically, the convex optimization technique is used to solve the task scheduling problem, while a multi-agent deep reinforcement learning technique is employed for the service deployment problem. These two methods are combined for spatiotemporal co-optimization through a two-timescale alternating optimization approach. Compared to the baseline algorithms, the proposed scheme achieves better delay performance, while also exhibiting low running time and favorable convergence behavior.

Giant plateau-like topological Hall effect controlled by tailoring the magnetic exchange stiffness in a kagome magnet

The ferrimagnet TbMn6Sn6 has attracted vast attention, because its pristine Mn kagome lattice with strong spin-orbit coupling and out-of-plane Tb-Mn exchange supports quantum-limit Chern topological magnetism which can be described by the simple spinless Haldane model. We unveil herein that engineering the kagome lattice through partial substitution of Mn with nonmagnetic Cr induces a striking structural reorganization-Cr preferentially concentrates within a single Mn layer per unit cell, reducing the crystal symmetry from the D6h point group to the C2. This tailored structure configuration gives rise to a plateau-like topological Hall effect (THE), achieving a record-breaking resistivity of 19.1 ohm cm among bulk systems. Complementary magnetic force microscopy measurements unveil a magnetic domain transition near 1 T at 180 K, aligning with the field-dependent phase diagram of the THE. Our direct visualization of the magnetic domain structure underscores the critical role of broken kagome lattice symmetry in generating distinct exchange stiffness between the two Mn layers. These findings establish a new paradigm for exploring exotic states in kagome topological magnets and provide a proof-of-principle strategy for unraveling the interplay between magnetism and emergent topological properties in kagome systems.

Spatiotemporal Non-Uniformity-Aware Online Task Scheduling in Collaborative Edge Computing for Industrial Internet of Things

Mobile edge computing mitigates the shortcomings of cloud computing caused by unpredictable wide-area network latency and serves as a critical enabling technology for the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). Unlike cloud computing, mobile edge networks offer limited and distributed computing resources. As a result, collaborative edge computing emerges as a promising technology that enhances edge networks' service capabilities by integrating computational resources across edge nodes. This paper investigates the task scheduling problem in collaborative edge computing for IIoT, aiming to optimize task processing performance under long-term cost constraints. We propose an online task scheduling algorithm to cope with the spatiotemporal non-uniformity of user request distribution in distributed edge networks. For the spatial non-uniformity of user requests across different factories, we introduce a graph model to guide optimal task scheduling decisions. For the time-varying nature of user request distribution and long-term cost constraints, we apply Lyapunov optimization to decompose the long-term optimization problem into a series of real-time subproblems that do not require prior knowledge of future system states. Given the NP-hard nature of the subproblems, we design a heuristic-based hierarchical optimization approach incorporating enhanced discrete particle swarm and harmonic search algorithms. Finally, an imitation learning-based approach is devised to further accelerate the algorithm's operation, building upon the initial two algorithms. Comprehensive theoretical analysis and experimental evaluation demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed schemes.

Tailoring Neel orders in Layered Topological Antiferromagnets

In the two-dimensional limit, the interplay between Neel order and band topology in van der Waals topological antiferromagnets can give rise to novel quantum phenomena in the quantum anomalous Hall state, including the cascaded quantum phase transition and spin-modulation effect. However, due to the absence of net magnetization in antiferromagnets, probing the energetically degenerate Neel orders has long remained a significant challenge. Inspired by recent advances in realizing the quantum anomalous Hall effect in AlOx-capped layered topological antiferromagnet MnBi2Te4, we demonstrate deterministic control over the Neel order through surface anisotropy engineering enabled by the AlOx capping layer. By tuning the surface anisotropy, we uncover paritydependent symmetry breaking states that manifest as distinct odd-even boundary architectures, including 180 degree domain walls or continuous spin structures. Comparative studies between AlOx-capped and pristine odd-layer MnBi2Te4 flakes using domain-resolved magnetic force microscopy reveal pronounced differences in coercivity and magnetization-reversal dynamics. Notably, an unconventional giant exchange bias, which arises from perpendicular magnetic anisotropy rather than traditional interface pinning mechanisms, is observed for the first time. Our findings establish a pathway for manipulating Neel order through surface modification in A-type antiferromagnets, offering new opportunities for spintronic devices and quantum information technologies.

Quadratic BSDEs with Singular Generators and Unbounded Terminal Conditions: Theory and Applications

We investigate a class of quadratic backward stochastic differential equations (BSDEs) with generators singular in $ y $. First, we establish the existence of solutions and a comparison theorem, thereby extending results in the literature. Additionally, we analyze the stability property and the Feynman-Kac formula, and prove the uniqueness of viscosity solutions for the corresponding singular semilinear partial differential equations (PDEs). Finally, we demonstrate applications in the context of robust control linked to stochastic differential utility and certainty equivalent based on $g$-expectation. In these applications, the coefficient of the quadratic term in the generator captures the level of ambiguity aversion and the coefficient of absolute risk aversion, respectively.

UniGraspTransformer: Simplified Policy Distillation for Scalable Dexterous Robotic Grasping

We introduce UniGraspTransformer, a universal Transformer-based network for dexterous robotic grasping that simplifies training while enhancing scalability and performance. Unlike prior methods such as UniDexGrasp++, which require complex, multi-step training pipelines, UniGraspTransformer follows a streamlined process: first, dedicated policy networks are trained for individual objects using reinforcement learning to generate successful grasp trajectories; then, these trajectories are distilled into a single, universal network. Our approach enables UniGraspTransformer to scale effectively, incorporating up to 12 self-attention blocks for handling thousands of objects with diverse poses. Additionally, it generalizes well to both idealized and real-world inputs, evaluated in state-based and vision-based settings. Notably, UniGraspTransformer generates a broader range of grasping poses for objects in various shapes and orientations, resulting in more diverse grasp strategies. Experimental results demonstrate significant improvements over state-of-the-art, UniDexGrasp++, across various object categories, achieving success rate gains of 3.5%, 7.7%, and 10.1% on seen objects, unseen objects within seen categories, and completely unseen objects, respectively, in the vision-based setting. A Reference-free Metric for Language-Queried Audio Source Separation using Contrastive Language-Audio Pretraining

Language-queried audio source separation (LASS) aims to separate an audio source guided by a text query, with the signal-to-distortion ratio (SDR)-based metrics being commonly used to objectively measure the quality of the separated audio. However, the SDR-based metrics require a reference signal, which is often difficult to obtain in real-world scenarios. In addition, with the SDR-based metrics, the content information of the text query is not considered effectively in LASS. This paper introduces a reference-free evaluation metric using a contrastive language-audio pretraining (CLAP) module, termed CLAPScore, which measures the semantic similarity between the separated audio and the text query. Unlike SDR, the proposed CLAPScore metric evaluates the quality of the separated audio based on the content information of the text query, without needing a reference signal. Experiments show that the CLAPScore provides an effective evaluation of the semantic relevance of the separated audio to the text query, as compared to the SDR metric, offering an alternative for the performance evaluation of LASS systems. The code for evaluation is publicly available.

Graph-Enhanced Dual-Stream Feature Fusion with Pre-Trained Model for Acoustic Traffic Monitoring

Microphone array techniques are widely used in sound source localization and smart city acoustic-based traffic monitoring, but these applications face significant challenges due to the scarcity of labeled real-world traffic audio data and the complexity and diversity of application scenarios. The DCASE Challenge's Task 10 focuses on using multi-channel audio signals to count vehicles (cars or commercial vehicles) and identify their directions (left-to-right or vice versa). In this paper, we propose a graph-enhanced dual-stream feature fusion network (GEDF-Net) for acoustic traffic monitoring, which simultaneously considers vehicle type and direction to improve detection. We propose a graph-enhanced dual-stream feature fusion strategy which consists of a vehicle type feature extraction (VTFE) branch, a vehicle direction feature extraction (VDFE) branch, and a frame-level feature fusion module to combine the type and direction feature for enhanced performance. A pre-trained model (PANNs) is used in the VTFE branch to mitigate data scarcity and enhance the type features, followed by a graph attention mechanism to exploit temporal relationships and highlight important audio events within these features. The frame-level fusion of direction and type features enables fine-grained feature representation, resulting in better detection performance. Experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed method. GEDF-Net is our submission that achieved 1st place in the DCASE 2024 Challenge Task 10.

Incentive-Driven Task Offloading and Collaborative Computing in Device-Assisted MEC Networks

Edge computing (EC), positioned near end devices, holds significant potential for delivering low-latency, energy-efficient, and secure services. This makes it a crucial component of the Internet of Things (IoT). However, the increasing number of IoT devices and emerging services place tremendous pressure on edge servers (ESs). To better handle dynamically arriving heterogeneous tasks, ESs and IoT devices with idle resources can collaborate in processing tasks. Considering the selfishness and heterogeneity of IoT devices and ESs, we propose an incentive-driven multi-level task allocation framework. Specifically, we categorize IoT devices into task IoT devices (TDs), which generate tasks, and auxiliary IoT devices (ADs), which have idle resources. We use a bargaining game to determine the initial offloading decision and the payment fee for each TD, as well as a double auction to incentivize ADs to participate in task processing. Additionally, we develop a priority-based inter-cell task scheduling algorithm to address the uneven distribution of user tasks across different cells. Finally, we theoretically analyze the performance of the proposed framework. Simulation results demonstrate that our proposed framework outperforms benchmark methods.
