Concurrence triangle induced genuine multipartite entanglement measure

We study the quantification of genuine multipartite entanglement (GME) for general multipartite states. A set of inequalities satisfied by the entanglement of $N$-partite pure states is derived by exploiting the restrictions on entanglement distributions, showing that the bipartite entanglement between each part and its remaining ones cannot exceed the sum of the other partners with their remaining ones. Then a series of triangles, named concurrence triangles, are established corresponding to these inequalities. Proper genuine multipartite entanglement measures are thus constructed by using the geometric mean area of these concurrence triangles, which are non-increasing under local operation and classical communication. The GME measures classify which parts are separable or entangled with the rest ones for non genuine entangled pure states. The GME measures for mixed states are given via the convex roof construction, and a witness to detect the GME of multipartite mixed states is presented by an approach based on state purifications. Detailed examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of our GME measures.

Informationally complete measures of quantum entanglement

Although quantum entanglement has already been verified experimentally and applied in quantum computing, quantum sensing and quantum networks, most of the existing measures cannot characterize the entanglement faithfully. In this work, by exploiting the Schmidt decomposition of a bipartite state $|ψ\rangle_{AB}$, we first establish a one-to-one correspondence relation between the characteristic polynomial of the reduced state $ρ_A$ and the polynomials its trace. Then we introduce a family of entanglement measures which are given by the complete eigenvalues of the reduced density matrices of the system. Specific measures called informationally complete entanglement measures (ICEMs) are presented to illustrate the advantages. It is demonstrated that such ICEMs can characterize finer and distinguish better the entanglement than existing well-known entanglement measures. They also give rise to criteria of state transformations under local operation and classical communication. Moreover, we show that the ICEMs can be efficiently estimated on a quantum computer. The fully separability, entanglement and genuine multipartite entanglement can detected faithfully on quantum devices.

A new parameterized monogamy relation between entanglement and equality

We provide a generalized definition of the monogamy relation for entanglement measures. A monogamy equality rather than the usual inequality is presented based on the monogamy weight, from which we give monogamy relations satisfied by the $α$th $(α>0)$ power of the entanglement measures. Taking concurrence as an example, we further demonstrate the significance and advantages of these relations. In addition, we show that monogamy relations can be recovered by considering multiple copies of states for every non-additive entanglement measure that violates the inequalities. We also demonstrate that the such relations for tripartite states can be generalized to multipartite systems.

Quantum Coherence Bounds the Distributed Discords

Establishing quantum correlations between two remote parties by sending an information carrier is an essential step of many protocols in quantum information processing. We obtain trade-off relations between discords and coherence within a bipartite system. Then we study the distribution of coherence in a bipartite quantum state by using the relations of relative entropy and mutual information. We show that the increase of the relative entropy of discord between two remote parties is bounded by the nonclassical correlations quantified by the relative entropy of coherence between the carrier and two remote parties, providing an optimal protocol for discord distribution and showing that quantum correlations are the essential resource for such tasks.

Near-Optimal Variance-Based Uncertainty Relations

Learning physical properties of a quantum system is essential for the developments of quantum technologies. However, Heisenberg's uncertainty principle constrains the potential knowledge one can simultaneously have about a system in quantum theory. Aside from its fundamental significance, the mathematical characterization of this restriction, known as `uncertainty relation', plays important roles in a wide range of applications, stimulating the formation of tighter uncertainty relations. In this work, we investigate the fundamental limitations of variance-based uncertainty relations, and introduce several `near optimal' bounds for incompatible observables. Our results consist of two morphologically distinct phases: lower bounds that illustrate the uncertainties about measurement outcomes, and the upper bound that indicates the potential knowledge we can gain. Combining them together leads to an \emph{uncertainty interval}, which captures the essence of uncertainties in quantum theory. Finally, we have detailed how to formulate lower bounds for product-form variance-based uncertainty relations by employing entropic uncertainty relations, and hence built a link between different forms of uncertainty relations.

Quantum Information Masking of Hadamard Sets

We study quantum information masking of arbitrary dimensional states. Given a set of fixed reducing pure states, we study the linear combinations of them, such that they all have the same marginal states with the given ones. We define the so called Hadamard set of quantum states whose Gram-Schmidt matrix can be diagonalized by Hadamard unitary matrices. We show that any Hadamard set can be deterministically masked by a unitary operation. We analyze the states which can be masked together with the given Hadamard set using the result about the linear combinations of fixed reducing states. Detailed examples are given to illustrate our results.

Maximum Relative Entropy of Coherence for Quantum Channels

Based on the resource theory for quantifying the coherence of quantum channels, we introduce a new coherence quantifier for quantum channels via maximum relative entropy. We prove that the maximum relative entropy for coherence of quantum channels is directly related to the maximally coherent channels under a particular class of superoperations, which results in an operational interpretation of the maximum relative entropy for coherence of quantum channels. We also introduce the conception of sub-superchannels and sub-superchannel discrimination. For any quantum channels, we show that the advantage of quantum channels in sub-superchannel discrimination can be exactly characterized by the maximum relative entropy of coherence for quantum channels. Similar to the maximum relative entropy of coherence for channels, the robustness of coherence for quantum channels has also been investigated. We show that the maximum relative entropy of coherence for channels provides new operational interpretations of robustness of coherence for quantum channels and illustrates the equivalence of the dephasing-covariant superchannels, incoherent superchannels, and strictly incoherent superchannels in these two operational tasks.

Average skew information-based coherence and its typicality for random quantum states

We study the average skew information-based coherence for both random pure and mixed states. The explicit formulae of the average skew information-based coherence are derived and shown to be the functions of the dimension N of the state space. We demonstrate that as N approaches to infinity, the average coherence is 1 for random pure states, and a positive constant less than 1/2 for random mixed states. We also explore the typicality of average skew information-based coherence of random quantum states. Furthermore, we identify a coherent subspace such that the amount of the skew information-based coherence for each pure state in this subspace can be bounded from below almost always by a fixed number that is arbitrarily close to the typical value of coherence.

Improved monogamy relations with concurrence of assistance and negativity of assistance for multiqubit W-class states

Monogamy relations characterize the distributions of entanglement in multipartite systems. We investigate the monogamy relations satisfied by the concurrence of assistance and the negativity of assistance for multiqubit generalized $W$-class states. Analytical monogamy inequalities are presented for both concurrence of assistance and negativity of assistance, which are shown to be tighter than the existing ones. Detailed examples have been presented.

Generalized Entanglement Monogamy and Polygamy Relations for N -Qubit Systems

We investigate the generalized monogamy and polygamy relations $N$-qubit systems. We give a general upper bound of the $α$th ($0\leqα\leq2$) power of concurrence for $N$-qubit states. The monogamy relations satisfied by the $α$th ($0\leqα\leq2$) power of concurrence are presented for $N$-qubit pure states under the partition $AB$ and $C_1 . . . C_{N-2}$, as well as under the partition $ABC_1$ and $C_2\cdots C_{N-2}$. These inequalities give rise to the restrictions on entanglement distribution and the trade off of entanglement among the subsystems. Similar results are also derived for negativity.

Uncertainty Relations Based on Modified Wigner-Yanase-Dyson Skew Information

Uncertainty relation is a core issue in quantum mechanics and quantum information theory. We introduce modified generalized Wigner-Yanase-Dyson (MGWYD) skew information and modified weighted generalizedWigner-Yanase-Dyson (MWGWYD) skew information, and establish new uncertainty relations in terms of the MGWYD skew information and MWGWYD skew information.

Coherence and complementarity based on modified generalized skew information

We introduce modified generalized Wigner-Yanase-Dyson (MGWYD) skew information and modified weighted generalized Wigner-Yanase-Dyson (MWGWYD) skew information. By revisiting state-channel interaction based on MGWYD skew information, a family of coherence measures with respect to quantum channels is proposed. Furthermore, explicit analytical expressions of these coherence measures of qubit states are derived with respect to different quantum channels. Moreover, complementarity relations based on MGWYD skew information and MWGWYD skew information are also presented. Specifically, the conservation relations are investigated, while two interpretations of them including symmetry-asymmetry complementarity and wave-particle duality have been proposed.

Time optimal control based on classification of quantum gates

We study the minimum time to implement an arbitrary two-qubit gate in two heteronuclear spins systems. We give a systematic characterization of two-qubit gates based on the invariants of local equivalence. The quantum gates are classified into four classes, and for each class the analytical formula of the minimum time to implement the quantum gates is explicitly presented. For given quantum gates, by calculating the corresponding invariants one easily obtains the classes to which the quantum gates belong. In particular, we analyze the effect of global phases on the minimum time to implement the gate. Our results present complete solutions to the optimal time problem in implementing an arbitrary two-qubit gate in two heteronuclear spins systems. Detailed examples are given to typical two-qubit gates with or without global phases.

A Note on Hierarchy of Quantum Measurement Incompatibilities

The quantum measurement incompatibility is a distinctive feature of quantum mechanics. We investigate the incompatibility of a set of general measurements and classify the incompatibility by the hierarchy of compatibilities of its subsets. By using the approach of adding noises to measurement operators we present a complete classification of the incompatibility of a given measurement assemblage with $n$ members. Detailed examples are given to the incompatibility for unbiased qubit measurements based on semidefinite programm.

Incompatibility probability of random quantum measurements

Incompatibility of quantum measurements is of fundamental importance in quantum mechanics. It is closely related to many nonclassical phenomena such as Bell nonlocality, quantum uncertainty relations, and quantum steering. We study the necessary and sufficient conditions of quantum compatibility for a given collection of $n$ measurements in $d$-dimensional space. From the compatibility criterion for two-qubit measurements, we compute the incompatibility probability of a pair of independent random measurements. For a pair of unbiased random qubit measurements, we derive that the incompatibility probability is exactly $\frac35$. Detailed results are also presented in figures for pairs of general qubit measurements.

Information transfer in generalized probabilistic theories based on weak repeatability

Information transfer in generalized probabilistic theories (GPT) is an important problem. We have dealt with the problem based on repeatability postulate, which generalizes Zurek's result to the GPT framework [Phys. Lett. A \textbf{379} (2015) 2694]. A natural question arises: can we deduce the information transfer result under weaker assumptions? In this paper, we generalize Zurek's result to the framework of GPT using weak repeatability postulate. We show that if distinguishable information can be transferred from a physical system to a series of apparatuses under the weak repeatability postulate in GPT, then the initial states of the physical system must be completely distinguishable. Moreover, after each step of invertible transformation, the composite states of the composite system composed of the physical systems and the apparatuses must also be completely distinguishable.

Distribution of spin correlation strengths in multipartite systems

For a two-qubit state the isotropic strength measures the degree of isotropic spin correlation. The concept of isotropic strength is generalized to multipartite qudit systems, and the strength distributions for tripartite and quadripartite qudit systems are thoroughly investigated. We show that the sum of relative isotropic strengths of any three qudit state over $d$-dimensional Hilbert space cannot exceed $d-1$, which generalizes of the case $d=2$. The trade-off relations and monogamy-like relations of the sum of spin correlation strengths for pure three- and four-partite systems are derived. Moreover, the bounds of spin correlation strengths among different subsystems of a quadripartite state are used to analyze quantum entanglement.

Strong unitary uncertainty relations

In this paper we provide a new set of uncertainty principles for unitary operators using a sequence of inequalities with the help of the geometric-arithmetic mean inequality. As these inequalities are "fine-grained" compared with the well-known Cauchy-Schwarz inequality, our framework naturally improves the results based on the latter. As such, the unitary uncertainty relations based on our method outperform the best known bound introduced in [Phys. Rev. Lett. 120, 230402 (2018)] to some extent. Explicit examples of unitary uncertainty relations are provided to back our claims.
