Bulk Ising superconductivity in an intercalated TaSe2 bilayer structure

Ising spin-orbit coupling in bulk systems has drawn considerable interest for its ability to conveniently construct spin-orbit environments and enable exotic quantum phenomena. In this work, we synthesize intercalated 2Hb-TaSe$_2$ bilayers with noncentrosymmetric structure and, through multifaceted analysis, present multiple lines of evidence for the emergence of bulk Ising superconductivity. Resistivity measurements reveal anisotropic superconducting behavior, with a remarkably large in-plane upper critical field $B_{c2}^{\|}$ that exceeds the Pauli limit $B_{p}$. Band structure calculations further show band splitting accompanied by out-of-plane spin polarization. Collectively, these observations point to the presence of Ising superconductivity. Additional measurements of the thickness-dependent ratio $B_{c2}^{\|}$/$B_{p}$ and the superconducting diode effect not only further support the Ising superconducting nature of this material, but also reveal additional features of bulk Ising superconductivity evolving with thickness. Our findings provide valuable insights that may contribute to the search for bulk Ising superconductors.

Double-Carrier Fitting of Hall Resistance Assisted by Gate-Induced Shubnikov-de Haas Oscillations in Possible Excitonic Insulator Ta2Pd3Te5

Hall effect is an important phenomenon when a magnetic field is applied to materials. From the curve depicting the Hall resistance versus the magnetic field, crucial information such as carrier concentration can be extracted. If the curve exhibits a linear dependence up to rather high magnetic fields, it indicates that charge transport involves only a single type of carrier, and if a non-linear curve is measured, then the double-carrier model should be considered for fitting. However, this model involves four unknown parameters, including the concentration and mobility of the two carriers, resulting in that such fitting is usually non-unique, which significantly reduces the reliability and accuracy. In this work, a double-carrier platform was constructed on a probable excitonic insulator Ta2Pd3Te5, and the four-parameter fitting based on the double-carrier model was simplified to a single-parameter fitting by employing methods such as analyzing the shape of the Hall resistance curve and generating gate-induced Shubnikov-de Haas oscillations. Thus, we provide a reliable method for double-carrier fitting of Hall resistance and a new evidence for the existence of excitonic-insulator state in Ta2Pd3Te5.

Broad nonlocal spectrum in the Pb-InSb hybrid three terminals for potential realization of Kitaev chains

Hybrid superconductor-semiconductor(SC-SM) nanowires remain one of the foremost platforms for engineering topological superconductivity and Majorana zero modes(MZMs) towards fault-tolerant topological qubits, especially with the rapid development of artificial Kitaev chains. In contrast to the widely used aluminum(Al)-based hybrids, lead(Pb) offers a bulk superconducting gap of ~1.4meV and a critical temperature of ~7.2K, giving rise to a proximity-induced gap that is roughly five times larger than that obtained with Al. Here we present the first three-terminal Pb-hybrid devices and perform nonlocal differential-conductance spectroscopy on this platform. The nonlocal measurement simultaneously resolves a dual-gap feature of the parent Pb gap and the large, hard, gate-tunable induced superconducting gap, distinguished by a switch between electron- and hole-like dissipation processes. Within the induced gap we observe several types of Andreev bound states(ABSs) that undergo singlet-doublet transitions. Moreover, by tuning gate voltages we achieve gate-controlled resonating sign reversals of the nonlocal conductance, identifying three distinct regimes that correspond to different configurations of quantum-dot(QD) resonances(single-resonance, double-resonance, and series-resonance). Finally, the coupling between ABSs and QDs also present and can be modulated from the weak- to strong-coupling limit, indicating the feasibility of realizing the artificial Kitaev chains. Crucially, the robust nonlocal signatures persist up to temperatures(~1K) far above the operating temperature of Al-based devices thanks to the unusually large induced gap, thereby widening the accessible parameter space greatly and underscoring the suitability of Pb-based hybrids for implementing warm temperature artificial Kitaev chains and the topological quantum devices protected by a substantially larger topological gap.

Magnetic-Field Control of Tomonaga-Luttinger Liquids in Ta2Pd3Te5 Edge States

Ta2Pd3Te5 is a quasi-one-dimensional transition-metal telluride whose heavy atoms endow the material with strong spin-orbit coupling, while the Fermi level inside the bulk gap makes the low-energy electronic structure highly tunable.Theory and early experiments have already identified a wealth of emergent phases in this platform: an excitonic insulator driven by electron-hole binding, a second-order topological insulator protected by crystalline symmetry, a potential topological-protected quantum-spin-Hall edge, and proximity-induced edge supercurrents when coupled to a conventional s-wave superconductor. These properties make it a promising platform for hosting Majorana zero modes and quantum computation, provided that time-reversal symmetry can be broken by a Zeeman gap. In this work, we demonstrate that the one-dimensional edge channels of exfoliated Ta2Pd3Te5 host a robust and tunable Tomonaga-Luttinger liquid by electrostatic gating because it shifts the chemical potential across the bulk gap without changing the gap size. More importantly, the application of a magnetic field introduces a Zeeman gap that systematically increases the TLL power-law exponent alpha. Furthermore, rotating the field reveals a pronounced twofold anisotropy--alpha is maximal for a field parallel to the edge and minimal for a perpendicular orientation--originating from an orientation-dependent edge g-factor that is likely amplified by quantum-confinement-induced orbital-angular-moment quenching. The existence of gate-tunable edge supercurrents together with the field-controlled Zeeman gap provides a direct route to break time-reversal symmetry in a particle-hole-symmetric superconducting gap and thus to engineer a topological superconducting phase, paving the way towards Majorana-based quantum devices.

GenesisGeo: Technical Report

Recent neuro-symbolic geometry theorem provers have made significant progress on Euclidean problems by coupling neural guidance with symbolic verification. However, most existing systems operate almost exclusively in a symbolic space, leaving diagram-based intuition largely unused during reasoning. For humans, geometric diagrams provide essential heuristics for identifying non-trivial auxiliary constructions. Meanwhile, visual language models (VLMs) still struggle with geometry due to the lack of high-quality data with geometric diagrams and reasoning supervision. In this paper, we introduce GenesisGeo-1M, a large-scale synthetic dataset for visual geometric reasoning that contains 1M multimodal geometry problems paired with machine-checkable proof traces. Building on this dataset, we formulate geometric learning as a multi-task training paradigm that jointly optimizes text-based proof generation and diagram-grounded proof generation, encouraging models to learn visual grounding and symbolic deduction. Extensive experiments show that our GenesisGeo-2B model achieves gold-medal-level performance on Olympiad geometry benchmarks, solving 29/30 problems on IMO-30, 63/95 on IMO-95, and 278/409 on HAGeo-409.

Density of States (Gate) - Controlled Andreev Molecule and Sensor

Topological quantum computing typically relies on topological Andreev bound states (ABSs) engineered in hybrid superconductor-semiconductor devices, where gate control offers key advantages. While strong Zeeman fields can induce such states, an alternative approach emerges through Andreev molecules -- closely spaced, coupled ABSs, also key building-block for Kitaev chain -- that enable topological behavior without high magnetic fields. However, existing Andreev molecules are controlled via magnetic flux in superconducting loops, limiting scalability. Here, we introduce a gate-controlled Andreev molecule, where electrostatic tuning of the density of states in one site nonlocally enhances the critical current of another. This eliminates superconducting loops, offering superior tunability, scalability, and sensitivity. We further extend such an Andreev molecule to a multi-site Kitaev chain, and a noninvasive sensor resolving single-Cooper-pair charge for parity readout. This platform bridges the gap between scalable ABS engineering and high-sensitivity quantum sensing, advancing the development for constructing and parity-readout in topological ABSs and long Kitaev chains towards topological qubits.

Enhanced and modulable induced superconducting gap and effective Land\'e g-factor in Pb-InSb hybrid devices

The hybrid system of a conventional superconductor (SC) on a semiconductor (SM) nanowire with strong spin-orbit coupling (SOC) represents a promising platform for achieving topological superconductivity and Majorana zero modes (MZMs) towards topological quantum computation. While aluminum (Al)-based hybrid nanowire devices have been widely utilized, their limited superconducting gap and intrinsic weak SOC as well as small Land\'e g-factor may hinder future experimental advancements. In contrast, we demonstrate that lead (Pb)-based hybrid quantum devices exhibit a remarkably large and hard proximity-induced superconducting gap, exceeding that of Al by an order of magnitude. By exploiting electrostatic gating to modulate wavefunction distribution and SC-SM interfacial coupling, this gap can be continuously tuned from its maximum value (~1.4 meV, matching the bulk Pb gap) down to nearly zero while maintaining the hardness. Furthermore, magnetic-field-dependent measurements reveal a radial evolution of the gap structure with anti-crossing feature, indicative of strong SOC and huge effective g-factors up to 76. These findings underscore the superior functionality of Pb-based hybrid systems, significantly advancing their potential for realizing and stabilizing MZMs and the further scalable topological quantum architectures.

Circuit-level-configurable Zero-field Superconducting Diodes: A Universal Platform Beyond Intrinsic Symmetry Breaking

Modern industry seeks next-generation microelectronics with ultra-low dissipation and noise beyond semiconducting systems, where the superconducting electronics offer promise. Its physical foundation is the superconducting diode effect (SDE) with nonreciprocal supercurrent. SDE has hitherto mainly relied on material-specific intrinsic symmetry breaking in superconductors, suffering from low yield, controllability, and compatibility with further functional extension - an undesirable aspect for applications. Here, we demonstrated a field-free SDE due to the chemical potential shift from external circuit line resistance, which is generic and challenges the previous interpretations of the intrinsic symmetry breaking in superconductivity for zero-field SDE. Moreover, this SDE is circuit-level configurable since it can be electrically switched on/off with its polarity and efficiency precisely modulated via gate voltage and circuit reconfiguration, facilitating functional extension. Such a generic, controllable and extensible SDE addresses critical challenges in dissipationless circuit towards application, and thus establishes a robust platform for scalable superconducting electronics.

Can You Really Trust Code Copilots? Evaluating Large Language Models from a Code Security Perspective

Code security and usability are both essential for various coding assistant applications driven by large language models (LLMs). Current code security benchmarks focus solely on single evaluation task and paradigm, such as code completion and generation, lacking comprehensive assessment across dimensions like secure code generation, vulnerability repair and discrimination. In this paper, we first propose CoV-Eval, a multi-task benchmark covering various tasks such as code completion, vulnerability repair, vulnerability detection and classification, for comprehensive evaluation of LLM code security. Besides, we developed VC-Judge, an improved judgment model that aligns closely with human experts and can review LLM-generated programs for vulnerabilities in a more efficient and reliable way. We conduct a comprehensive evaluation of 20 proprietary and open-source LLMs. Overall, while most LLMs identify vulnerable codes well, they still tend to generate insecure codes and struggle with recognizing specific vulnerability types and performing repairs. Extensive experiments and qualitative analyses reveal key challenges and optimization directions, offering insights for future research in LLM code security.

A Monitoring Method for the Ice Shape and the Freeze-Thaw Process of Ice Accretion on Transmission Lines Based on Circular FBG Plane Principal Strain Sensor

As a key infrastructure for China's "West-to-East Power Transmission" project, transmission lines (TL) face the threat of ice accretion under complex microclimatic conditions. This study proposes a plane principal strain sensing method based on a fiber Bragg grating circular array, achieving synchronous monitoring of 6 strains (ranging from -2000 to 2000 {\mu}{\epsilon}) across the TL cross-section. Through finite element simulation experiments, a mapping relationship between the bending of TL and the plane principal strain has been established. After completing the sensor calibration, an experimental platform for the freeze-thaw process of ice accretion on the TL was built. The relationships between ice mass and bending strain, as well as the ice shape on the TL cross-section (C-shaped and circular ice) and plane principal strain, were studied. Furthermore, a BP neural network model was developed to determine the 4 states of the icing process (no ice/freeze/stable/thaw), achieving an accuracy of 91.23%. This study provides effective monitoring of the freeze-thaw process of ice accretion on the TL, offering important technical support for the prevention and control of ice accretion in power grid.

Observation of topological Anderson Chern insulator phase in MnBi$_4$Te$_7$ monolayer

The correlation of topology and disorder has attracted great intention due to appropriate disorder could induce the phase transition between trivial and nontrivial topological states. While it is widely recognized that strong disorder can produce rich phase diagrams in topological nontrivial states, moderate disorder has been proposed to induce transitions into topologically nontrivial phases counter-intuitively, leading to the concept of topological Anderson insulators. This phenomenon has been theoretically explored and simulated in various systems, yet experimental realization in solid state systems has remained elusive due to challenges in controlling disorder. Here, we report the experimental observation of Chern insulator state signed by the coexistence of quantized Hall plateau and zero longitudinal resistance in monolayer MnBi$_4$Te$_7$ Hall bar device, which originally hosts a trivial insulating state with Chern number $C$ = 0 in clean limit. We demonstrate that the observed trivial to nontrivial transition in this monolayer device can be attributed to disorder, evidenced by universal conductance fluctuations. Our findings substantiate the existence of a long-sought topological Anderson Chern insulator in real materials, a unique variant of the topological Anderson insulator characterized by broken time-reversal-symmetry.

Bilinearization-reduction approach to the classical and nonlocal semi-discrete modified Korteweg-de Vries equations with nonzero backgrounds

Quasi double Casoratian solutions are derived for a bilinear system reformulated from the coupled semi-discrete modified Korteweg-de Vries equations with nonzero backgrounds. These solutions, when applied with the classical and nonlocal reduction techniques, also satisfy the corresponding classical and nonlocal semi-discrete modified Korteweg-de Vries equations with nonzero backgrounds. They can be expressed explicitly, allowing for an easy investigation of the dynamics of systems. As illustrative examples, the dynamics of solitonic, periodic and rational solutions with a plane wave background are examined for the focusing semi-discrete Korteweg-de Vries equation and the defocusing reverse-space-time complex semi-discrete Korteweg-de Vries equation.

The integrable semi-discrete nonlinear Schr\"odinger equations with nonzero backgrounds: Bilinearization-reduction approach

In this paper the classical and nonlocal semi-discrete nonlinear Schr\"{o}dinger (sdNLS) equations with nonzero backgrounds are solved by means of the bilinearization-reduction approach. In the first step of this approach, the unreduced sdNLS system with a nonzero background is bilinearized and its solutions are presented in terms of quasi double Casoratians. Then, reduction techniques are implemented to deal with complex and nonlocal reductions, which yields solutions for the four classical and nonlocal sdNLS equations with a plane wave background or a hyperbolic function background. These solutions are expressed with explicit formulae and allow classifications according to canonical forms of certain spectral matrix. In particular, we present explicit formulae for general rogue waves for the classical focusing sdNLS equation. Some obtained solutions are analyzed and illustrated.

Evidence of P-wave Pairing in K$_2$Cr$_3$As$_3$ Superconductors from Phase-sensitive Measurement

P-wave superconductors hold immense promise for both fundamental physics and practical applications due to their unusual pairing symmetry and potential topological superconductivity. However, the exploration of the p-wave superconductors has proved to be a complex endeavor. Not only are they rare in nature but also the identification of p-wave superconductors has been an arduous task in history. For example, phase-sensitive measurement, an experimental technique which can provide conclusive evidence for unconventional pairing, has not been implemented successfully to identify p-wave superconductors. Here, we study a recently discovered family of superconductors, A$_2$Cr$_3$As$_3$ (A = K, Rb, Cs), which were proposed theoretically to be a candidate of p-wave superconductors. We fabricate superconducting quantum interference devices (SQUIDs) on exfoliated K$_2$Cr$_3$As$_3$, and perform the phase-sensitive measurement. We observe that such SQUIDs exhibit a pronounced second-order harmonic component sin(2$\pi$) in the current-phase relation, suggesting the admixture of 0- and $\pi$-phase. By carefully examining the magnetic field dependence of the oscillation patterns of critical current and Shapiro steps under microwave irradiation, we reveal a crossover from 0- to $\pi$-dominating phase state and conclude that the existence of the $\pi$-phase is in favor of the p-wave pairing symmetry in K$_2$Cr$_3$As$_3$.

Chromium Self-Traceable Length Standard: Investigating Geometry and Diffraction for Length Traceability Chain

Natural constant-based metrology methods offer an effective approach to achieving traceability in nanometric measurements. The Cr grating, fabricated by atom lithography and featuring a pitch of $d=212.7705\pm0.0049~{\rm nm}$ traceable to the Cr transition frequency $^{7}S_{3}$ $\rightarrow$ $^{7}P_{4}^{0}$, demonstrates potential as a self-traceable length standard in nano-length metrology by grating interferometer. This research aims to analyze and engineer the diffraction characteristics that enhance the Cr grating as a self-traceable length standard within the length traceability chain based on the Cr transition frequency. Accordingly, we investigate the geometric morphology and diffraction characteristics of the Cr grating, analyzes the influence of the grating's polarization-sensitive characteristics on the Littrow configuration grating interferometer, and establishes the criteria for Cr grating fabrication. Experimentally, we fabricate an expanded Cr grating by scanning atom lithography, characterize its diffraction performance, and conduct preliminary verification of length measurement in a self-traceable grating interferometer. This work adheres to the international trend of flattened metrology development, offering a valuable reference for advancing subsequent metrological technologies throughout the new traceability chain.

Nanometer displacement measurement based on metrological self-mixing grating interferometer traceable to the pitch standard of one-dimension chromium self-traceable grating

Traceability of precision instrument and measuring method is the core issue in metrology science. In the field of nanometer length measurement, the laser interferometers are usually used to trace the measurement value to the laser wavelength, but the laser wavelength is sensitive to the environment disturbance. Chromium self-traceable grating is an ideal nanometer length reference grating with pitch traceability, fabricated by the atomic lithography technique. The new nanometer length traceability chain can be established based on the pitch traceability of chromium self-traceable grating, which is often used to calibrate the systematic error of the atomic force microscope. In this paper, the metrological self-mixing grating interferometer based on the chromium self-traceable grating (SMGI-Cr) is firstly established, whose interfere phase is traceable to the pitch of the chromium self-traceable grating directly and traceable to the chromium atomic transition frequency of energy level 7 S 3 to 7 P 4 indirectly. The nanometer displacement measurement is also achieved by the SMGI-Cr. The measurement error is no more than 0.2366%, compared to a commercial interferometer.

The solutions of classical and nonlocal nonlinear Schr\"{o}dinger equations with nonzero backgrounds: Bilinearisation and reduction approach

In this paper we develop a bilinearisation-reduction approach to derive solutions to the classical and nonlocal nonlinear Schr\"{o}dinger (NLS) equations with nonzero backgrounds. We start from the second order Ablowitz-Kaup-Newell-Segur coupled equations as an unreduced system. With a pair of solutions $(q_0,r_0)$ we bilinearize the unreduced system and obtain solutions in terms of quasi double Wronskians. Then we implement reductions by introducing constraints on the column vectors of the Wronskians and finally obtain solutions to the reduced equations, including the classical NLS equation and the nonlocal NLS equations with reverse-space, reverse-time and reverse-space-time, respectively. With a set of plane wave solution $(q_0,r_0)$ as a background solution, we present explicit formulae for these column vectors. As examples, we analyze and illustrate solutions to the focusing NLS equation and the reverse-space nonlocal NLS equation. In particular, we present formulae for the rouge waves of arbitrary order for the focusing NLS equation.
