GSTEP: Global Spatio-Temporal Density-Driven Visual Token Pruning for Efficient Video Large Language Models

Video large language models (VideoLLMs) achieve strong video understanding performance, but their inference remains expensive due to the large number of redundant spatio-temporal visual tokens in long videos. Existing token pruning methods alleviate this cost by reducing redundant tokens, yet most of them rely on segment-level local pruning, where videos are partitioned into isolated segments and tokens are selected independently within each segment. Such designs may under-preserve short but semantically dense segments and discard tokens that appear non-salient locally but remain critical from a global perspective. To address this issue, we propose GSTEP (Global Spatio-Temporal Density Pruning), a plug-and-play pruning framework that models video as a continuous spatio-temporal information flow. GSTEP constructs a token-level spatio-temporal density by combining a continuous temporal density, obtained from a smoothed centered frame-level change signal, with intra-frame spatial density, and then performs global token sampling by jointly balancing information density and coverage. Extensive experiments on multiple VideoLLMs and public benchmarks demonstrate that GSTEP consistently achieves strong accuracy-efficiency trade-offs and generalizes well across model architectures and evaluation settings. On LLaVA-OneVision-7B, GSTEP prunes 75% of visual tokens, preserves up to 100.2% of the original average performance across benchmarks, and achieves a 1.17 end-to-end speedup.

V2VCrafter: Consistent Street-View Image Generation Across Vehicles

Connected and autonomous driving (CAD) systems leverage vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication for multi-agent collaborative perception, yet remain constrained by scarce annotated real-world V2V datasets and limited generalization across diverse driving conditions. While image generation offers a feasible solution for data augmentation, existing single-vehicle multi-view generation frameworks face two key challenges in multi-agent settings: (1) the expanded learning objective degrades generation quality, and (2) dynamic inter-agent variation hinders consistency modeling for physical attributes (e.g., color, category) of jointly observed objects. To bridge this gap, we propose V2VCrafter, the first framework for generating controllable and realistic multi-view driving images across vehicles. For effective learning, we develop a progressive multi-agent diffusion model based on a single-agent backbone, using neighboring agents' latent states to progressively guide single-to-multi-agent generation. To address cross-vehicle inconsistency, we further propose a cross-agent attention module that leverages a collaboration view graph and learnable jointly observed object representations to model dynamic cross-vehicle camera view relationships. Experiments on real-world V2X-Real dataset show that V2VCrafter generates high-fidelity, controllable, and consistent street views across vehicles, thereby effectively enhancing downstream collaborative 3D object detection tasks.

A Sparse Glimpse of the Whole: Train-Free Self-Speculative Decoding

Speculative decoding alleviates the memory-bandwidth bottleneck in large language model inference, but its acceleration is jointly constrained by drafting overhead, token acceptance, and speculation length. We present a unified efficiency analysis showing that extending the speculation horizon can reduce rather than improve speedup when the marginal acceptance probability falls below the relative drafting cost. Guided by this analysis, we introduce SparseSpec-L, a training-free self-speculative decoding framework for long-context inference. SparseSpec-L generates lightweight drafts directly from the target model using a dynamically sparsified and recallable KV cache. It recycles per-head attention statistics produced during full-context verification as a no-extra-forward importance signal, allowing critical historical tokens to be recalled without permanently discarding the dense KV cache. An online entropy-based controller further selects the speculation length according to expected step-wise efficiency. Experiments across multiple long-context tasks and model scales show consistent end-to-end acceleration, with up to speedup over autoregressive decoding while preserving the target model's output distribution.

NWaaS: A Non-Intrusive and Privacy-Preserving Watermarking-as-a-Service System with Adaptive Resource Scheduling

Securing intellectual property (IP) in Machine Learning as a Service is critical yet challenging. While deep neural network watermarking serves as a standard defense against model extraction, existing Watermarking-as-a-Service paradigms face a triple challenge of intrusiveness, privacy risks, and inefficiency. To address these challenges, we propose Non-intrusive Watermarking as a Service (NWaaS), a holistic framework enabling trustworthy and efficient IP protection. We first introduce $\mathtt{ShadowMark}$, a novel watermarking algorithm that establishes a side-channel for ownership verification without modifying the model. It ensures zero performance degradation and eliminates the need for parameter-heavy fine-tuning as well as access to original training data, thereby addressing the intrusiveness and inefficiency inherent in existing approaches. Leveraging this non-intrusive property, we design a collaborative partitioning mechanism that allows model owners to offload self-defined partial layers, enabling a flexible trade-off between IP privacy and service cost. Furthermore, to mitigate latency from collaborative computing under high concurrency and enhance system resource utilization, we propose proportion disparity joint scheduling, a payload-balancing resource scheduling algorithm tailored to the heterogeneous constraints of edge-cloud environments. Extensive experiments demonstrate that NWaaS provides robust ownership verification across diverse continuous X-to-Image modalities, while ensuring secure owner privacy protection and superior system performance.

Privacy-Preserving Robustness Verification for Neural Networks

Neural network verification and data privacy are inherently in tension: verification demands full access to model parameters and input data, yet both are increasingly restricted by privacy regulations and intellectual property constraints. This tension has left robustness verification impractical in privacy-sensitive domains. In this work, we address this gap with SecureCROWN, the first framework for privacy-preserving neural network robustness verification. Built upon secure two-party computation (2PC), our framework enables a model owner and a data owner to jointly compute certified robustness bounds -- revealing only the final result while provably protecting both parties' private data under the semi-honest security model. A key challenge is securely computing the conditional operations in Linear Bound Propagation, where the data-dependent branching is incompatible with standard secure computation protocols. We eliminate branching by formulating conditional logic as continuous arithmetic operations. Additionally, we introduce a Newton--Raphson refinement method to improve numerical stability. Extensive analysis and experiments show that SecureCROWN strictly matches plaintext verification results, while completing in 0.1--200s across varied model sizes and communication settings (LAN/WAN), demonstrating the feasibility of privacy-preserving neural network verification.

Embodied Operators and Benchmarking: Toward Reusable and Deployable Embodied Intelligence Systems

Embodied intelligence systems require not only end-to-end policy models, but also reusable functional modules that transform multimodal observations, robot states, human demonstrations, and task contexts into structured representations, decisions, trajectories, control references, and system services. This work defines these modules as embodied operators and studies them as independent yet composable units in embodied intelligence pipelines. We clarify their definition boundary, emphasizing task semantics, standardized input-output contracts, deployability, reusability, and multi-layer optimizability. We further construct a taxonomy covering five categories: detection and segmentation, spatial localization and 3D understanding, hand motion recovery, embodied foundation models and task-decision operators, and planning, control, and system support operators. For each category, we summarize representative functions, technical paradigms, application roles, and practical limitations. Beyond taxonomy, we propose a multi-dimensional benchmark framework that evaluates embodied operators in terms of correctness, end-to-end efficiency, resource usage, temporal stability, portability, interface compatibility, deployment reliability, and downstream task utility. We also discuss workflow-level operator acceleration and open challenges in operator composition, data standardization, world models, VLA safety, edge deployment, and real-world application value. Overall, this work argues that embodied operators should be optimized and evaluated as holistic deployable components, providing a foundation for reusable, scalable, and verifiable embodied intelligence systems.

μ-MOPA Architecture for Photonic Integrated Solid State Laser

Diode-pumped solid-state (DPSS) lasers play a central role in modern photonics owing to their exceptional efficiency and ability to extend spectral coverage beyond the reach of semiconductor diodes. These attributes have enabled breakthroughs in precision metrology, quantum optics, and coherent communications. However, bringing the proven advantages of DPSS gain media such as Nd:YAG onto an integrated photonic platform has remained difficult, largely due to inefficient pump utilization and limited power-scaling in chip-scale implementations. Here, we demonstrate the first photonic-integrated Nd:YAG laser-amplifier system that overcomes these challenges with a micro-chip based master-oscillator-power-amplifier (μ-MOPA) architecture. The seed laser, employing a double-resonant microring resonator, could reach a threshold as low as 2.9 μW. The single-pass waveguide amplifier, when optimized separately, provides up to 46.6 dB small-signal gain. Combining the low-threshold seed with cascaded waveguide amplifiers, the integrated μ-MOPA delivers more than 12 dBm of amplified continuous-wave output power. These results establish Nd:YAG waveguide integration as a practical route to compact and high-performance solid-state light sources.

Universal Image Restoration via Internalized Chain-of-Thought Reasoning

Image restoration seeks to recover high-quality images from degraded inputs but becomes highly ill-posed under complex, mixed degradations. While unified all-in-one models are common, their performance declines as degradation complexity increases. Recent works adopt Chain-of-Thought (CoT) reasoning for multi-round restoration using specialized modules. However, this approach faces two key limitations: (i) increased computational cost due to multi-step processing, and (ii) weak modeling of interactions between degradations during stepwise inference. We introduce CoTIR, a universal image restoration framework that internalizes CoT reasoning within a single model. Concretely, we view image restoration as a specialized subtask of image editing, which implies that a large-scale pre-trained editing model provides a more favorable optimization starting point. Building on this, we fine-tune the model for restoration and further encode structured CoT-style reasoning into the learning objective via a differentiable formulation inspired by Lagrangian optimization, enabling holistic restoration without chaining specialized restorers. To facilitate training and evaluation, we further present CoTIR-Bench, a large-scale benchmark comprising 5.2 million samples with CoT-style reasoning traces. Extensive experiments on CoTIR-Bench and broad real composite degradation scenes show that CoTIR achieves stronger perceptual quality and more competitive fidelity than both all-in-one models and multi-round restoration methods. Experimental violation of a Bell-like inequality for causal order

Quantum mechanics is compatible with scenarios where physical processes happen in an indefinite order. In theory, this feature could be detected through violations of inequalities on the observed correlations, analogous to Bell inequalities. However, experimental demonstrations of such violations have been missing until recently due to the complexity of the required setup. Here we report an experimental violation of a Bell-like inequality involving the correlations of four parties, one of which is spacelike separated from the others. Our demonstration employs 3 km fiber spools to simulate spacelike separation, and achieves high-speed operations in photonic time-bin encoding, nanosecond synchronization, and accurate temperature stabilization. These experimental advances enable a violation by 5.7 standard deviations and open a path towards a certification of indefinite order in conditions that guarantee spacelike separation with existing state-of-the-art devices. However, the certification is not device-independent, as it relies on knowledge about the setup to exclude bidirectional signaling--a loophole inherent to implementations in classical acyclic spacetimes, which may be resolved in future quantum-spacetime tests.

Optimizing Agentic Reasoning with Retrieval via Synthetic Semantic Information Gain Reward

Agentic reasoning enables large reasoning models (LRMs) to dynamically acquire external knowledge, but yet optimizing the retrieval process remains challenging due to the lack of dense, principled reward signals. In this paper, we introduce InfoReasoner, a unified framework that incentivizes effective information seeking via a synthetic semantic information gain reward. Theoretically, we redefine information gain as uncertainty reduction over the model's belief states, establishing guarantees, including non-negativity, telescoping additivity, and channel monotonicity. Practically, to enable scalable optimization without manual retrieval annotations, we propose an output-aware intrinsic estimator that computes information gain directly from the model's output distributions using semantic clustering via bidirectional textual entailment. This intrinsic reward guides the policy to maximize epistemic progress, enabling efficient training via Group Relative Policy Optimization (GRPO). Experiments across seven question-answering benchmarks demonstrate that InfoReasoner consistently outperforms strong retrieval-augmented baselines, achieving up to 5.4% average accuracy improvement. Our work provides a theoretically grounded and scalable path toward agentic reasoning with retrieval. The code is available at https://github.com/dl-m9/InfoReasoner

Candidate overtone shear horizontal SAW resonators in thin-film lithium niobate for intermodal acousto-optic modulation

The merits of thin-film surface acoustic wave (SAW) devices are pivotal to develop the high-performance intermodal acousto-optic modulators. In this work, we have proposed shear-horizontal (SH) SAW resonators for anticipated intermodal acousto-optic modulation on the thin-film lithium niobate platform. Through optimization of the cut angle of LN films, the SAW wavelength, and the thickness of interdigital transducer (IDT) electrodes, the calculated acousto-optic overlap factors utilizing SH0 modes are improved by more than an order of magnitude compared with those of Rayleigh modes. Furthermore, we have fabricated and characterized three kinds of proof-of-principle SH0 mode devices without/with grating reflectors. The electromechanical coupling coefficients (keff^2) and quality factors (Q) in the overtone resonators with grating reflectors are systematically evaluated, featuring the highest Q of 843 with the compromised keff^2 of 0.96%-4.72%. The results reveal that the temperature coefficients of frequency (TCF) of Rayleigh modes vary across various overtones, whereas the SH0 modes exhibit TCFs in the range of 32.3-68.9 ppm/C. Our fabricated SH0-mode overtone resonators demonstrate the capability of operating at power levels up to 29 dBm without electrode damage, offering a promising paradigm for robust and high-efficiency intermodal acousto-optic modulators with potential applications in integrated optical signal processing, microwave photonics, and quantum information technologies.

Sparse2Act: Learning Action-Aligned Sparse 3D Representations for Cross-Domain Robot Manipulation

Explicit 3D representations are attractive for manipulation because they expose object shape, workspace geometry, and robot-object relations in metric coordinates. However, sparse 3D encoders are often learned through downstream task objectives, tying the representation to a particular data distribution, policy architecture, and action parameterization. We introduce Sparse2Act, an observation-action alignment framework for pretraining sparse point-cloud encoders. The key idea is to use task-space end-effector actions as geometric supervision: masked sparse 3D tokens are trained to organize scene features around the workspace motion paired with the observation. After pretraining, only the encoder initialization is reused by downstream policies, allowing them to retain their own architectures and action spaces, including joint-space commands. On the LIBERO-10 benchmark, our method achieves 86.9% average success after 500 fine-tuning steps. The same pretrained encoder supports LIBERO-to-Meta-World cross-domain transfer, achieving 73.4% average success on the Meta-World-5 benchmark. Ablations on the objective and decoder capacity show that the gains come from the masked action-alignment signal and remain useful across downstream action decoders. In real-world experiments, simulation pretraining followed by limited real-data fine-tuning achieves an average success rate of 72.5% across four tasks, demonstrating effective sim-to-real transfer. These results suggest that robot actions can provide compact geometric supervision for reusable sparse 3D representations.

Pixel Cube: Diffusion-based Portrait Video Relighting Through Realistic Lighting Reproduction

We present a diffusion-based method for relighting dynamic portrait videos with photorealism and temporal consistency. Our method is fueled by a hybrid training dataset that consists of real-captured and rendered dynamic portrait videos with diverse subject appearances, facial motions, head poses, and known lighting conditions. Specifically, we construct an LED-based lighting system for realistic lighting emulation and high-speed video relighting data acquisition. By leveraging the image priors embedded in pre-trained video diffusion models, and using per-frame high dynamic range (HDR) environment map as lighting control, we train a high-performance generative model for realistic and identity-preserving dynamic portrait video relighting. In addition to the environment map control, our model uses a synthesized background image to enable control on the camera's exposure level and color tone. Our model can produce temporally consistent relit portrait video that looks realistic and harmonious under a provided new environment and faithfully preserve the subject's expression and fine facial features, including skin tone, wrinkles, and facial hair. Our model generalizes well to unseen data, in terms of the subject appearance, motion, and lighting condition. We perform extensive experiments on relighting in-the-wild videos with various environment maps and demonstrate practical applications on portrait photography. Results show that our method achieves state-of-the-art performance in photorealism, lighting harmony, and temporal consistency.

Imaginarity witness

Imaginarity has shown to be an important resource in quantum information. The witness theory of quantum resource, such as entanglement witness, coherence witness, and imaginarity witness, has been established, in particular entanglement witness and coherence witness have been extensively explored. We present here another class of imaginarity witnesses beyond the one in [{Phys. Lett. A} \textbf{530}, 130135 (2025)]. Within our framework, any nonreal Hermitian operator under the reference basis is an imaginarity witness and only finite of them can detect all the imaginarity states. As the common approaches that were explored in the witness theories of entanglement and coherence, we then explore the relations between these imaginarity witnesses in different cases: (i) when they can detect common imaginary states, (ii) when they can detect the same sets of imaginary states, and (ii) when they obey the finer relation. Finally, we define an imaginarity measure in terms of witnesses, termed witnessed imaginarity, and prove that it coincides with both the trace norm of imaginarity and the robustness of imaginarity.

Escaping the BLEU Trap: A Signal-Grounded Framework with Decoupled Semantic Guidance for EEG-to-Text Decoding

Decoding natural language from non-invasive EEG signals is a promising yet challenging task. However, current state-of-the-art models remain constrained by three fundamental issues: Semantic Bias, where outputs collapse into generic linguistic templates; Signal Neglect, where models rely heavily on LLM priors to hallucinate fluent text even in the absence of meaningful signals; and the "BLEU Trap", where high-frequency stopwords inflate n-gram metrics, masking a lack of true semantic fidelity. To resolve these challenges, we move beyond conventional end-to-end pipelines and propose SemKey, a novel multi-stage framework that enforces signal-grounded generation through four decoupled semantic objectives: sentiment, topic, length, and surprisal. We extract these semantic anchors from EEG embeddings directly, then unify them with an Active Retrieval Decoding mechanism, compelling the LLM to ground its token generation in the neural signals rather than defaulting to linguistic priors. Furthermore, we break the BLEU Trap by establishing a comprehensive evaluation protocol using rigorous retrieval and distribution-based metrics such as Fréchet Distance. Extensive experiments demonstrate that SemKey effectively mitigates hallucinations on noise inputs and achieves SOTA performance on these robust protocols. Code will be released upon acceptance at https://github.com/xmed-lab/SemKey.

Holographic Network, Entanglement Wedge and Traversable Parallel Universe

This paper investigates the holographic network connecting different CFTs, modeled by Gauss-Bonnet gravity with varying couplings across different bulk branches. By applying the holographic Noether's theorem, we prove that the junction condition on the Net-brane leads to conservation laws at network nodes. We analyze the stability of the gravitational KK modes on the Net-brane and derive the constraints on theory parameters. Additionally, we discuss various proposals for network entropy, confirm that the type I and II network entropies obey the holographic g-theorem, and show that the type III network entropy is non-negative. We explore the two-point functions of various NCFTs at different edges, using examples like free scalars and the AdS/NCFT with a tensionless brane. We find that zero tension results in negative reflectivity at the node, indicating that it is a non-unitary parameter. We study the wedge inclusion condition, which stipulates that the entanglement wedge must encompass the causal wedge. This condition imposes a lower bound on the tension of the Net-brane, which is stronger than the bound derived from the positivity of reflectivity. Furthermore, we conclude that the tension of Net-branes must be positive; the more edges present, the stronger this bound becomes. We then examine the gravitational dual of compact networks, which feature both EOW branes and Net-branes in the bulk. We derive the joint condition for EOW branes at the Net-brane and analyze vacuum solutions in AdS$_3$/NCFT$_2$. Finally, we demonstrate that AdS/NCFT provides a natural way to envision traversable parallel universes that have different geometries and physical laws. Remarkably, unlike traversable wormholes, our model of parallel universes satisfies all the energy conditions.

Rethinking Stepwise Model Routing: A Cost-Efficient Table Reasoning Perspective

Large Reasoning Models (LRMs) achieve strong performance on table reasoning tasks but incur substantial inference cost due to long reasoning traces. Stepwise model routing mitigates this issue by dynamically assigning reasoning steps to smaller or larger models. However, stepwise model routing for table reasoning remains underexplored. Through empirical analysis, we find that reasoning steps involving tables contain two types of tokens with distinct uncertainty distributions: table tokens grounded in table structure, such as cell values and headers, and text tokens representing surrounding natural-language reasoning. The uncertainty of both token types is correlated with the risk that the model makes an error in the next reasoning step. However, existing methods fail to model them separately, leading to suboptimal routing decisions. To address this, we propose EcoTab, a table-aware stepwise routing framework for efficient table reasoning. At each reasoning step, EcoTab separately estimates the uncertainties of table tokens and text tokens, maps them to next-step failure risks for the small model, and combines the two risks for routing. Experiments on multiple table reasoning benchmarks show that EcoTab consistently outperforms strong baselines and achieves a better balance between accuracy and efficiency.

FRUC: Feedforward Dynamic Scene Reconstruction from Uncalibrated Collaborative Driving Views

We present FRUC, a feed-forward 3D Gaussian splatting framework for dynamic scene reconstruction from uncalibrated collaborative driving views. Existing multi-agent reconstruction frameworks are often hindered by rigid prerequisites, demanding precise spatial calibration and slow per-scene optimization. In this paper, we rethink this task by conceptualizing a distributed multi-vehicle network as a spatio-temporally unstructured ego-centric multi-camera system, where the core challenge lies in enhancing ego-centric occluded geometry through collaboration without degrading the ego's accurately observed visible geometry, while preserving reconstruction efficiency. For efficient reconstruction, FRUC is built upon a visual grounded geometric Transformer backbone to enable one-shot, calibration-free inference from a flexible number of multi-vehicle views. To achieve non-destructive geometric supplementation under uncalibrated cross-agent misalignment, FRUC first introduces an ego-centric causal occlusion field that explicitly derives occlusion evolution as latent priors by modeling agent-wise spatio-temporal correlations. Guided by these occlusion priors, it further formulates cross-agent integration as a deterministic residual denoising process via zero-initialized injection, turning challenging cross-agent fusion into bounded residual learning for robust collaborative blind-spot completion. Through extensive evaluations on the real-world V2XReal and UrbanIng-V2X datasets, FRUC is shown to be a new state-of-the-art for the scene reconstruction of dynamic collaborative driving environments, significantly outperforming existing methods in both rendering quality and efficiency.
