Areal-time disruption prediction and mitigation system for the EXL-50U spherical torus

This work presents a real-time disruption prediction and mitigation system developed for high-current operations in the EXL-50U Spherical Torus. By leveraging Reflective Memory (RFM) technology, the system establishes a low-latency real-time data path, creating a fully integrated pipeline that synchronizes multi-channel diagnostic acquisition, online preprocessing, real-time inference, and Massive Gas Injection (MGI) triggering. At its core, a lightweight prediction model based on a Temporal Convolutional Network (TCN) with a channel attention mechanism extracts disruption precursor features while adaptively weighting the importance of different diagnostic channels. {Tested across discharges \#14036--\#14790, the system achieves a true positive rate of 82.4\% and a false positive rate of 16.5\%, with end-to-end latency below $1~\mathrm{ms}$ in online operation.} Mitigation experiments further show that the MGI system can supply the required gas inventory and trigger a rapid post-injection plasma response, supporting the operational requirements of EXL-50U and providing engineering guidance for future devices such as EHL-2. These results confirm the engineering feasibility of integrated real-time disruption control on EXL-50U, offering a robust basis for future research in higher-parameter fusion devices.

Statistical Characteristics of Tunneling States in Strong-Field Atomic Ionization

The state of the tunneling electron under the potential barrier is important in strong laser-atom interaction but is difficult to identify. Recent experiments showed that the tunneling electron may be located in a bound state with high symmetry [Phys. Rev. Lett. 134, 213201 (2025)]. However, the quantitative characteristic of the tunneling state in a tunneling event remains unclear. Here, we study tunneling ionization of atoms in strong circular laser fields. The calculated photoelectron momentum distribution (PMD) through numerical solution of time-dependent Schrödinger equation (TDSE) presents an isotropic ring-shaped distribution and the most probable momentum (MPM) along the ring can be easily identified. The kinetic energy related to MPM is remarkably smaller than that predicted by the strong-field approximation (SFA) that ignores Coulomb potential. Surprisingly, for different target atoms and laser parameters, the kinetic energy difference of MPM between TDSE and SFA is always close to half of the corresponding Coulomb potential at the tunnel exit. This phenomenon can be well described by a proposed model, which indicates that the tunneling electron is in an exit-position-dependent quasibound state agreeing with the virial theorem. These results quantitatively reveal the characteristics of tunneling states from a statistical perspective.

Flux-Mediated Correspondence Between Real- and Momentum-Space Nonsymmorphicity

Momentum-space nonsymmorphic symmetries have recently attracted significant interest in both artificial and condensed-matter crystals, whereas real-space nonsymmorphic symmetries have long played an important role in the study of crystalline topological phases. Here, we establish a general theory of momentum-space crystallographic groups that emerge from projective representations of real-space crystallographic groups in the presence of gauge flux, applicable in particular to real-space nonsymmorphic groups. A central result is a flux-mediated ``bi-nonsymmorphicity'' relation that reveals a structural correspondence between real-space and momentum-space nonsymmorphicity mediated by gauge flux. This relation implies that, under a symmetric gauge flux, real-space nonsymmorphicity can enforce momentum-space nonsymmorphicity, and that in some cases a symmetric gauge flux requires nonsymmorphicity in both real and momentum space. Our work not only identifies a fundamental structure in projective crystal symmetries, but also provides guiding principles for designing artificial crystals and condensed-matter platforms that exhibit both real-space and momentum-space nonsymmorphic symmetries.

Study of $η\rightarrowπ^+π^-l^+l^-$

Using a sample of $(10087\pm44)\times10^{6}$ $J/ψ$ events accumulated with the BESIII detector, we analyze the decays $η\rightarrowπ^+π^-l^+l^-$ ($l=e$ or $μ$) via the process $J/ψ\rightarrowγη$. The branching fraction of $η\rightarrowπ^+π^-e^+e^-$ is measured to be $\mathcal{B}(η\rightarrowπ^+π^-e^+e^-)=(3.07\pm0.12_{\rm{stat.}}\pm0.19_{\rm{syst.}}) \times10^{-4}$. No signal events are observed for the $η\rightarrowπ^{+}π^{-}μ^{+}μ^{-}$ decay, leading to an upper limit on the branching fraction of $\mathcal{B}(η\rightarrowπ^{+}π^{-}μ^{+}μ^{-})<4.0\times10^{-7}$ at the 90\% confidence level. Furthermore, the $CP$-violation asymmetry parameter is found to be $\mathcal{A}_{CP}(η\rightarrowπ^{+}π^{-}e^{+}e^{-})=(-4.04\pm4.69_{\rm{stat.}}\pm0.14_{\rm{syst.}})\%$, showing no evidence of $CP$-violation with current statistics. Additionally, we extract the transition form factor from the decay amplitude of $η\rightarrowπ^+π^-e^+e^-$. Finally, axion-like particles are searched for via the decay $η\rightarrowπ^+π^-a, a\rightarrow e^+e^-$, and upper limits on this branching fraction relative to that of $η\rightarrowπ^+π^-e^+e^-$ are presented as a function of the axion-like particle mass in the range $5-200\ \mathrm{MeV}/c^{2}$.

A Novel Numerical Algorithms Optimization Method with Machine Learning Frameworks: Application on Real-time Plasmas Equilibrium Reconstruction in EXL-50U Spherical Torus

This work proposes for the first time a novel optimization method for numerical algorithms, which takes advantages of machine learning frameworks PyTorch and TensorRT, leveraging their modularity, low development threshold, and automatic tuning characteristics to achieve a real-time plasmas reconstruction algorithm called PTEFIT as an application in tokamak-based controlled fusion that combines performance, flexibility, and usability. The algorithm has been deployed and routinely operated on the EXL-50U spherical tokamak, with an average inference time of only 0.268ms per time slice at $129\times 129$ resolution, and has successfully driven feedback control of the maximum radial position of plasmas and isoflux control. We believe that its design philosophy has sufficient potential to accelerate development and optimization in GPU parallel computing, and is expected to be extended to other numerical algorithms.

Observation of the singly Cabibbo suppressed decay $D^0\to b_1(1235)^- e^+ν_e$ and evidence for $D^+\to b_1(1235)^0 e^+ν_e$

By analyzing a data sample of $e^+e^-$ collisions with center-of-mass energy $\sqrt{s}=3.773$~GeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $7.9~\rm {fb}^{-1}$ collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII collider, we study semileptonic decays of the $D^{0(+)}$ mesons into the axial-vector meson $b_1(1235)$ via the decay $b_1(1235)\to ωπ$. The decay $D^0\to b_1(1235)^-e^{+}ν_{e}$ is observed with a significance of 5.2$σ$ after considering systematic uncertainty, while evidence for the decay $D^+\to b_1(1235)^0 e^+ν_e$ is obtained with a 3.1$σ$ significance. The product branching fractions are determined to be ${\mathcal B}(D^0\to b_{1}(1235)^-e^{+}ν_{e})\times {\mathcal B} (b_1(1235)^-\to ωπ^-) = (0.72\pm0.18^{+0.06}_{-0.08})\times10^{-4}$ and ${\mathcal B}(D^+\to b_{1}(1235)^0e^{+}ν_{e})\times {\mathcal B} (b_1(1235)^0~\to ωπ^0) = (1.16\pm0.44\pm0.16)\times10^{-4}$, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic. The ratio of their partial decay widths is determined to be $\frac{Γ(D^0\to b_{1}(1235)^-e^{+}ν_{e})}{2Γ(D^+\to b_{1}(1235)^0e^{+}ν_{e})}=0.78\pm0.19^{+0.04}_{-0.05}$, which is consistent with unity, predicted by isospin invariance, within uncertainties.

Impact of edge turbulence spreading on broadening the heat flux width with plasma approaching the density limit

This paper investigates the impact of edge turbulence spreading on broadening the heat flux width in Ohmic-plasma approaching the density limit of the J-TEXT tokamak. At the plasma edge, the EXB shear flow collapses while turbulence transport and spreading enhances significantly when approaching the density limit. The heat flux width increases with normalized density. An energy production ratio model is used to quantify the contribution of edge turbulence spreading to the origin of the SOL turbulence. Experimental data show that the energy production ratio is much larger than 1, indicating that turbulence spreading at separatrix is the origin of the SOL turbulence. The heat flux widths increase with edge turbulence spreading as well as the energy production ratio. The impact of blob-induced transport on the heat flux width is investigated in detail. Especially, the average blob-induced spreading is about 81% of the total edge spreading in the high-density scenario. Blobs with larger radial scales enhance edge spreading into the SOL, thus dominating the SOL turbulence and consequently broadening the heat flux width. These results suggest that edge turbulence spreading plays a crucial role in broadening the heat flux width as plasma approaches the density limit.

Measurement of branching fractions of $Λ_{c}^{+}$ decays to $Σ^{+} η$ and $Σ^{+} η'$

By analyzing $e^+e^-$ collision data taken at center-of-mass energies $\sqrt{s}$ between 4.600 and 4.699 GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $\rm 4.5~fb^{-1}$, we study the hadronic decays $Λ_{c}^{+} \rightarrow Σ^{+} η$ and $Λ_{c}^{+} \rightarrow Σ^{+} η^{\prime}$ using the single-tag method. The branching fraction ratio of $Λ_{c}^+ \rightarrow Σ^+ η$ relative to $Λ_{c}^+ \rightarrow Σ^+ π^0$ is determined to be $0.305 \pm 0.046_{\rm stat.} \pm 0.007_{\rm syst.}$, and that of $Λ_{c}^+ \rightarrow Σ^+ η'$ relative to $Λ_{c}^+ \rightarrow Σ^+ ω$ is $0.336 \pm 0.094_{\rm stat.} \pm 0.037_{\rm syst.}$. The ratio of $\frac{\mathcal{B}\left(Λ_{c}^{+} \rightarrow Σ^{+} η'\right)}{\mathcal{B}\left(Λ_{c}^{+} \rightarrow Σ^{+} η\right)} $ is determined to be $1.73 \pm 0.22_{\rm stat.} \pm 0.16_{\rm syst.}$. These results enrich our knowledge of charmed baryon decays.

Partial Wave Analysis of $e^{+}e^{-} \rightarrow π^{+}π^{-}J/ψ$ and Cross Section Measurement of $e^{+}e^{-} \rightarrow π^{\pm}Z_{c}(3900)^{\mp}$ from 4.1271 to 4.3583 GeV

Based on 12.0 $\mathrm{fb^{-1}}$ of $e^{+}e^{-}$ collision data samples collected by the BESIII detector at center-of-mass energies from 4.1271 to 4.3583 GeV, a partial wave analysis is performed for the process $e^{+}e^{-} \rightarrow π^{+}π^{-}J/ψ$. The cross sections for the sub processes ${e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrowπ^{+}Z_{c}(3900)^{-}+c.c.\rightarrowπ^{+}π^{-}J/ψ}$, $f_{0}(980)(\rightarrowπ^{+}π^{-})J/ψ$, and $(π^{+}π^{-})_{\rm{S\mbox{-}wave}} J/ψ$ are measured for the first time. The mass and width of the $Z_{c}(3900)^{\pm}$ are determined to be $3884.6\pm0.7\pm3.3$ MeV/$c^{2}$ and $37.2\pm1.3\pm6.6$ MeV, respectively. The first errors are statistical and the second systematic. The final state $(π^{+}π^{-})_{\rm{S\mbox{-}wave}} J/ψ$ dominates the process $e^{+}e^{-} \rightarrow π^{+}π^{-}J/ψ$. By analyzing the cross sections of $π^{\pm}Z_{c}(3900)^{\mp}$ and $f_{0}(980)J/ψ$, $Y(4220)$ has been observed. Its mass and width are determined to be $4225.7\pm4.1\pm3.4$ MeV/$c^{2}$ and $57.5\pm9.4\pm12.1$ MeV, respectively.

Measurement of Born Cross Sections and Effective Form Factors of $e^+e^-\to Ω^{-}\barΩ^{+}$ from$\sqrt{s}$ = 3.7 to 4.7 GeV

Using $e^+e^-$ collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 22.7 fb$^{-1}$, collected at center-of-mass energies between 3.7 and 4.7 GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII storage ring, we measure the energy-dependent Born cross sections of $e^+e^-\to Ω^{-}\barΩ^+$ and the effective form factors of the $Ω^-$ baryon. The analysis employs a single baryon tagging method, and the results are consistent with theoretical predictions, providing critical constraints on the electromagnetic structure of the $Ω^-$ hyperon. No significant signal of charmonium or charmonium-like states decaying to $Ω^{-}\barΩ^+$ is observed in the investigated energy range.

Precision Measurement of the Branching Fraction of $D^{+}\to μ^{+}ν_μ$

Using $20.3~\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ of $e^+e^-$ collision data collected at a center-of-mass energy of $E_{\rm c.m.}=3.773$ GeV with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII collider, we determine the branching fraction of the leptonic decay $D^+\toμ^+ν_μ$ to be $(4.034\pm0.080_{\rm stat}\pm0.040_{\rm syst})\times10^{-4}$. Interpreting our measurement with knowledge of the Fermi coupling constant $G_F$, the masses of the $D^+$ and $μ^+$ as well as the lifetime of the $D^+$, we determine $f_{D^+}|V_{cd}|=(48.02\pm0.48_{\rm stat}\pm0.24_{\rm syst}\pm0.12_{\rm input}\pm0.15_{\rm EM})~\mathrm{MeV}$ after taking into account necessary radiative corrections. This result is a factor of 2.3 more precise than the previous best measurement. Using the value of the magnitude of the $c\to d$ Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element $|V_{cd}|$ given by the global standard model fit, we obtain the $D^+$ decay constant $f_{D^+}=(213.5\pm2.1_{\rm stat}\pm1.1_{\rm syst}\pm0.8_{\rm input}\pm0.7_{\rm EM})$\,MeV. Alternatively, using the value of $f_{D^+}$ from a precise lattice quantum chromodynamics calculation, we extract $|V_{cd}|=0.2265\pm0.0023_{\rm stat}\pm0.0011_{\rm syst}\pm0.0009_{\rm input}\pm0.0007_{\rm EM}$.

Precise Measurement of the $χ_{c0}$ Resonance Parameters and Branching Fractions of $χ_{c0,c2}\toπ^+π^-/K^+K^-$

By analyzing a $ψ(3686)$ data sample containing $(107.7\pm0.6)\times10^{6}$ events taken with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII storage ring in 2009, the $χ_{c0}$ resonance parameters are precisely measured using $χ_{c0,c2} \to π^+π^-/K^+K^-$ events. The mass of $χ_{c0}$ is determined to be $M(χ_{c0})=(3415.63\pm0.07\pm0.07\pm0.07$)~MeV/$c^2$, and its full width is $Γ(χ_{c0})=(12.52\pm0.12\pm0.13)~{\rm MeV}$, where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second systematic, and the third for mass comes from $χ_{c2}$ mass uncertainty. These measurements improve the precision of $χ_{c0}$ mass by a factor of four and width by one order of magnitude over the previous individual measurements, and significantly boost our knowledge about the charmonium spectrum. Together with additional $(345.4\pm2.6)\times10^{6}$ $ψ(3686)$ data events taken in 2012, the decay branching fractions of $χ_{c0,c2}\toπ^+π^-/K^+K^-$ are measured as well, with precision improved by a factor of three compared to previous measurements. These $χ_{c0}$ decay branching fractions provide important inputs for the study of glueballs.

Observation of resonant contribution to the $e^+e^-\to Ω^{-}\barΩ^{+}$ around 4.2 GeV and evidence of $ψ(3770)\to Ω^{-}\barΩ^{+}$

Using $e^+e^-$ collision data corresponding to a total integrated luminosity of 22.7 fb$^{-1}$, collected at center-of-mass energies between 3.7 and 4.7 GeV with the BESIII detector, we present a measurement of energy-dependent cross sections and effective form factors for the process of $e^+e^-\to Ω^{-}\barΩ^+$. By conducting a fit to the cross sections of $e^+e^-\to Ω^{-}\barΩ^+$ considering the continuum and resonant contributions, a clear resonant structure in the spectrum around 4.2 GeV is observed for the first time with a statistical significance exceeding 10$σ$, and it can be well described with the line shape of the $Y(4230)$ and $Y(4320)$ observed in $e^+e^-\to π^{+}π^{-}J/ψ$. Evidence for the decay $ψ(3770) \to Ω^-\barΩ^{+}$ is observed with a statistical significance of 4.4$σ$ by analyzing the measured cross sections together with earlier BESIII results, and the branching fraction is firstly measured to be $(4.0\pm1.0\pm0.6)$ $\times$ $10^{-5}$, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic.

Measurement of the phase between strong and electromagnetic amplitudes in the decay $J/ψ\toϕη$

The first direct measurement of the relative phase between the strong and electromagnetic amplitudes for a $J/ψ$ decaying into a vector-pseudoscalar final state is performed using 26 energy points of $e^+e^-$ annihilation data between $3.00\ \text{GeV}$ and \mbox{3.12 GeV}. The data sets were collected by the BESIII detector with a total integrated luminosity of 452 pb$^{-1}$. By investigating the interference pattern in the cross section lineshape of $e^+e^-\toϕη$, the relative phase between the strong and electromagnetic amplitudes of $J/ψ$ decay is determined to be within $[133^\circ,228^\circ]$ at 68\% confidence level.

Study of the light scalar $a_{0}(980)$ through the decay $D^{0} \to a_{0}(980)^-e^{+} ν_{e}$ with $a_{0}(980)^- \to ηπ^-$

Using 7.93 ${\rm fb^{-1}}$ of $e^+e^-$ collision data collected at a center-of-mass energy of 3.773 ${\rm GeV}$ with the BESIII detector, we present an analysis of the decay $D^{0} \to ηπ^- e^+ ν_{e}$. The branching fraction of the decay $D^{0} \to a_{0}(980)^{-} e^+ ν_{e}$ with $a_{0}(980)^{-} \to ηπ^{-}$ is measured to be $(0.86\pm0.17_{\text{stat}}\pm0.05_{\text{syst}})\times 10^{-4}$. Study of the electromagnetic Dalitz decay $J/ψ\to e^+e^- π^0$

We report the first measurement of the di-electron invariant mass dependent transition form factor in the electromagnetic Dalitz decay $J/ψ\to e^+e^- π^0$ using $(10087 \pm 44) \times 10^6$ $J/ψ$ events collected by the BESIII detector. A clear $ρ-ω$ interference structure is observed, consistent with the pion form factor, which offers a novel approach to extract the hadronic vacuum polarization contribution to the anomalous muon magnetic moment ($a_μ$) and refine the predictions of the Vector Meson Dominance (VMD) model and hadronic light-by-light contribution to $a_μ$. By taking into account the contribution of this $ρ-ω$ interference structure, the branching fraction of $J/ψ\to e^+e^- π^0$ in the full $e^+e^-$ invariant mass range is also measured for the first time to be $(8.06 \pm 0.31 (\rm{stat}) \pm 0.38 (\rm{syst}))\times 10^{-7}$, approximately twice the non-resonant VMD prediction.

Comprehensive Measurement of the Reactor Antineutrino Spectrum and Flux at Daya Bay

This Letter reports the precise measurement of reactor antineutrino spectrum and flux based on the full data set of 4.7 million inverse-beta-decay (IBD) candidates collected at Daya Bay near detectors. Expressed in terms of the IBD yield per fission, the antineutrino spectra from all reactor fissile isotopes and the specific $\mathrm{^{235}U}$ and $\mathrm{^{239}Pu}$ isotopes are measured with 1.3$\%$, 3$\%$ and 8$\%$ uncertainties respectively near the 3 MeV spectrum peak in reconstructed energy, reaching the best precision in the world. The total antineutrino flux and isotopic $\mathrm{^{235}U}$ and $\mathrm{^{239}Pu}$ fluxes are precisely measured to be $5.84\pm0.07$, $6.16\pm0.12$ and $4.16\pm0.21$ in units of $10^{-43} \mathrm{cm^2/fission}$. These measurements are compared with the Huber-Mueller (HM) model, the reevaluated conversion model based on the Kurchatov Institute (KI) measurement and the latest Summation Model (SM2023). The Daya Bay flux shows good consistency with KI and SM2023 models, but disagrees with HM model. The Daya Bay spectrum, however, disagrees with all model predictions.

Single-photon ionization of H$_2^+$ in near-circular laser fields with lower photon energy

We study single-photon ionization of aligned H$_2^+$ in low-intensity near-circular laser fields with lower photon energy numerically and analytically. The photoelectron momentum distribution (PMD) within the laser polarization plane, obtained by numerical simulations, shows a remarkable offset angle, which changes with changing the internuclear distance and the laser frequency. This phenomenon is different from that observed in recent experiments [Science 370, 339 (2020)] which is related to the PMD along the propagation direction of the laser. This phenomenon holds even for H$_2^+$ with short-range Coulomb potentials but disappears for atoms, different from that observed in attoclock experiments. We show that the molecular Coulomb potential near the two atomic centers plays an important role here and theory models associated with more accurate continuum wave function of the molecule are needed for reproducing this phenomenon. This phenomenon can be useful for ultrafast probing of molecules with high resolution of several attoseconds or even zeptoseconds.
