Electron form factors in Basis Light-front Quantization

In this paper, we evaluate the electromagnetic and gravitational form factors as well as the corresponding generalized parton distributions of the electron using the Basis Light-front Quantization approach to QED. We compare our results with those from light-front perturbation theory. We adopt a novel basis with its scale depending on the constituents' longitudinal momentum fraction. We show that this basis improves convergence of the form factors with increasing basis dimension, compared to that calculated in the original basis with fixed scale. These results both validate the BLFQ approach and provide guidance for its efficient implementation in solving light-front Hamiltonian mass eigenstates for more complex systems in QED and QCD.

Transverse-momentum-dependent gluon distributions of proton within basis light-front quantization

Gluon transverse-momentum dependent distributions (TMDs) are very important for revealing the internal structure of the proton. They correspond to a variety of experiments and are among the major tasks of the future electron-ion colliders. In this paper, we calculate the T-even gluon TMDs at the leading twist within the Basis Light-front Quantization framework. We employ the light-front wave functions of the proton obtained from a light-front quantized Hamiltonian with Quantum Chromodynamics input determined for its valence Fock sector with three constituent quarks and an additional Fock sector, encompassing three quarks and a dynamical gluon, with a three-dimensional confinement. After obtaining the numerical results we investigate the properties of gluon TMDs by checking whether they satisfy the Mulders-Rodrigues inequalities and investigate the correlations between transverse and longitudinal degrees of freedom. With their connection to unintegrated gluon distributions in mind, we further investigate the limiting behaviours of gluon TMDs in the small-$x$ and large-$x$ regions.

Quark and gluon distributions in $ρ$-meson from basis light-front quantization

We solve for the $ρ$-meson's wave functions from a light-front QCD Hamiltonian determined for its constituent quark-antiquark and quark-antiquark-gluon Fock components, with a three-dimensional confinement using basis light-front quantization. From this, we obtain the leading-twist valence quark's parton distribution functions and transverse momentum-dependent parton distributions inside the $ρ$-meson. These results are qualitatively consistent with those of other models. We also demonstrate the important effects of a dynamical gluon on the $ρ$-meson's gluon densities, helicity, transversity, and tensor polarized distributions.

Generalized parton distributions of gluon in proton: a light-front quantization approach

We solve for the gluon generalized parton distributions (GPDs) inside the proton, focusing specifically on leading twist chiral-even GPDs. We obtain and employ the light-front wavefunctions (LFWFs) of the proton from a light-front quantized Hamiltonian with Quantum Chromodynamics input using basis light-front quantization (BLFQ). Our investigation incorporates the valence Fock sector with three constituent quarks and an additional Fock sector, encompassing three quarks and a dynamical gluon. We examine the GPDs within impact parameter space and evaluate the $x$-dependence of the transverse square radius. We find that the transverse size of the gluon at lower-$x$ is larger than that of the quark, while it exhibits opposite behavior at large-$x$. Using the proton spin sum rule, we also determine the relative contributions of quarks and the gluon to the total angular momentum of the proton.

Transverse momentum structure of strange and charmed baryons: a light-front Hamiltonian approach

Under the basis light-front quantization framework, we investigate the leading-twist transverse-momentum-dependent parton distribution functions (TMDs) for $Λ$ and $Λ_c$ baryons, the spin-1/2 composite systems consisting of two light quarks ($u$ and $d$) and a $s/c$ quark. We evaluate the TMDs using the overlaps of the light-front wave functions in the leading Fock sector, which are obtained by solving the light-front eigenvalue equation. We also study the spin densities of quarks in momentum space for various polarizations. In the same model, we compare the TMDs of the strange and charmed baryons and the proton by reviewing their spin structures in the quark model and the probabilistic interpretations of their TMDs.

Transverse structure of the pion beyond leading twist with basis light-front quantization

We investigate the twist-$3$ transverse-momentum-dependent parton distribution functions (TMDs) of the pion with basis light-front quantization. The twist-3 TMDs are not independent and can be decomposed into twist-$2$ and genuine twist-$3$ terms from the equations of motion (EOM). We compute the TMDs from the resulting light-front wave functions obtained by diagonalizing the light-front QCD Hamiltonian, determined for pion's constituent quark-antiquark and quark-antiquark-gluon Fock sectors, with three-dimensional confinement. We also obtain the twist-3 parton distribution functions (PDFs) and show that they preserve the sum rule, which affirms the robustness of our approach. This is the first time that theoretical predictions are made for subleading twist structures of the pion containing interference terms between two light-front Fock sectors.

Universal Constants, Law of Inertia and Emergent Geometry

In this paper, we only treat the law of inertia as the first principle, then a nontrivial geometry emerges by introducing more universal constants, in which the main ideas appearing in deformed special relativity (DSR), (Anti-)de Sitter special relativity [(A)dSSR] and bimetric gravity (BMG) have been contexture.

Topological Structures of Moduli Spaces of Curves and Anabelian Geometry in Positive Characteristic

In the present paper, we study a new kind of anabelian phenomenon concerning the smooth pointed stable curves in positive characteristic. It shows that the topological structures of moduli spaces of curves can be understood from the viewpoint of anabelian geometry. We formulate some new anabelian-geometric conjectures relating the tame fundamental groups of curves over algebraically closed fields of characteristic $p>0$ to the moduli spaces of curves. These conjectures are generalized versions of the weak Isom-version of the Grothendieck conjecture for curves over algebraically closed fields of characteristic $p>0$ which was formulated by Tamagawa. Moreover, we prove that the conjectures hold for certain points lying in the moduli space of curves of genus $0$.

Simpson-Mochizuki Correspondence for $λ$-Flat Bundles

The notion of flat $λ$-connections as the interpolation of usual flat connections and Higgs fields was suggested by Deligne and further studied by Simpson. Mochizuki established the Kobayashi--Hitchin-type theorem for $λ$-flat bundles ($λ\neq 0$), which is called the Mochizuki correspondence. In this paper, on the one hand, we generalize Mochizuki's result to the case when the base being a compact balanced manifold, more precisely, we prove the existence of harmonic metrics on stable $λ$-flat bundles ($λ\neq 0$). On the other hand, we study two applications of the Simpson--Mochizuki correspondence to moduli spaces. More concretely, we show this correspondence provides a homeomorphism between the moduli space of (semi)stable $λ$-flat bundles over a complex projective manifold and the Dolbeault moduli space, and also provides dynamical systems with two parameters on the latter moduli space. We investigate such dynamical systems, in particular, we calculate the first variation, the fixed points and discuss the asymptotic behaviour.

Transverse momentum structure of proton within the basis light-front quantization framework

We obtain the leading-twist valence quark transverse-momentum-dependent parton distribution functions (TMD PDFs) for the proton within the basis light-front quantization (BLFQ) framework. Our results are consistent with lattice QCD calculations and our previous results for the collinear limit. We also obtain consistency with the Soffer-type bounds. Within our approach, we find that six T-even TMDs in the leading twist are all independent of each other, and previously found model-dependent relations do not hold. This is a promising sign that our results are representative of future, more extensive treatments of QCD. Furthermore, we obtain a non-trivial $ x $-dependence of the $ \left<(p^\perp)^2\right> $ and some consistency with the Gaussian ansatz but only in the small $ (p^\perp)^2 $ region. Those features suggest our results may be a useful alternative in future experimental extractions.

Automatic Expert Selection for Multi-Scenario and Multi-Task Search

Multi-scenario learning (MSL) enables a service provider to cater for users' fine-grained demands by separating services for different user sectors, e.g., by user's geographical region. Under each scenario there is a need to optimize multiple task-specific targets e.g., click through rate and conversion rate, known as multi-task learning (MTL). Recent solutions for MSL and MTL are mostly based on the multi-gate mixture-of-experts (MMoE) architecture. MMoE structure is typically static and its design requires domain-specific knowledge, making it less effective in handling both MSL and MTL. In this paper, we propose a novel Automatic Expert Selection framework for Multi-scenario and Multi-task search, named AESM^{2}. AESM^{2} integrates both MSL and MTL into a unified framework with an automatic structure learning. Specifically, AESM^{2} stacks multi-task layers over multi-scenario layers. This hierarchical design enables us to flexibly establish intrinsic connections between different scenarios, and at the same time also supports high-level feature extraction for different tasks. At each multi-scenario/multi-task layer, a novel expert selection algorithm is proposed to automatically identify scenario-/task-specific and shared experts for each input. Experiments over two real-world large-scale datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of AESM^{2} over a battery of strong baselines. Online A/B test also shows substantial performance gain on multiple metrics. Currently, AESM^{2} has been deployed online for serving major traffic.

$U(1)$-Gauge Field Theories on $G_2$-Manifolds

In this paper, we investigate two types of $U(1)$-gauge field theories on $G_2$-manifolds. One is the $U(1)$-Yang-Mills theory which admits the classical instanton solutions, we show that $G_2$-manifolds emerge from the anti-self-dual $U(1)$ instantons, which is an analogy of Yang's result for Calabi-Yau manifolds. The other one is the higher-order $U(1)$-Chern-Simons theory as a generalization of Kähler-Chern-Simons theory, by suitable choice of gauge and regularization technique, we calculate the partition function under semiclassical approximation.

The Elliptic Net Algorithm Revisited

Pairings have been widely used since their introduction to cryptography. They can be applied to identity-based encryption, tripartite Diffie-Hellman key agreement, blockchain and other cryptographic schemes. The Acceleration of pairing computations is crucial for these cryptographic schemes or protocols. In this paper, we will focus on the Elliptic Net algorithm which can compute pairings in polynomial time, but it requires more storage than Miller's algorithm. We use several methods to speed up the Elliptic Net algorithm. Firstly, we eliminate the inverse operation in the improved Elliptic Net algorithm. In some circumstance, this finding can achieve further improvements. Secondly, we apply lazy reduction technique to the Elliptic Net algorithm, which helps us achieve a faster implementation. Finally, we propose a new derivation of the formulas for the computation of the Optimal Ate pairing on the twisted curve. Results show that the Elliptic Net algorithm can be significantly accelerated especially on the twisted curve. The algorithm can be $80\%$ faster than the previous ones on the twisted 381-bit BLS12 curve and $71.5\%$ faster on the twisted 676-bit KSS18 curve respectively.

Curvature formulas related to a family of stable Higgs bundles

In this paper, we investigate the geometry of the base complex manifold of an effectively parametrized holomorphic family of stable Higgs bundles over a fixed compact Kähler manifold. The starting point of our study is Schumacher-Toma/Biswas-Schumacher's curvature formulas for Weil-Petersson-type metrics, in Sect. 2, we give some applications of their formulas on the geometric properties of the base manifold. In Sect. 3, we calculate the curvature on the higher direct image bundle, which recovers Biswas-Schumacher's curvature formula. In Sect. 4, we construct a smooth and strongly pseudo-convex complex Finsler metric for the base manifold, the corresponding holomorphic sectional curvature is calculated explicitly.

In this paper, we prove that for the oper stratification of the de Rham moduli space $M_{\mathrm{dR}}(X,r)$, the closed oper stratum is the unique minimal stratum with dimension $r^2(g-1)+g+1$, and the open dense stratum consisting of irreducible flat bundles with stable underlying vector bundles is the unique maximal stratum.

Hyperbolic Superspaces and Super-Riemann Surfaces

In this paper, we will generalize some results in Manin's paper "Three-dimensional hyperbolic geometry as $\infty$-adic Arakelov geometry" to the supergeometric setting. More precisely, viewing $\mathbb{C}^{1|1}$ as the boundary of the hyperbolic superspace $\mathcal{H}^{3|2}$, we reexpress the super-Green functions on the supersphere $\hat{\mathbb{C}}^{1|1}$ and the supertorus $T^{1|1}$ by some data derived from the supergeodesics in $\mathcal{H}^{3|2}$.

Transverse structure of electron in momentum space in basis light-front quantization

We investigate the leading-twist transverse momentum-dependent distribution functions (TMDs) for a physical electron, a spin-1/2 composite system consisting of a bare electron and a photon, using the Basis Light-front Quantization (BLFQ) framework. The light-front wave functions of the physical electron are obtained from the eigenvectors of the light-front QED Hamiltonian. We evaluate the TMDs using the overlaps of the light-front wave functions. The BLFQ results are found to be in excellent agreement with those TMDs calculated using lowest-order perturbation theory.
