Autonomous UAV Pipeline Near-proximity Inspection via Disturbance-Aware Predictive Visual Servoing

Reliable pipeline inspection is critical to safe energy transportation, but is constrained by long distances, complex terrain, and risks to human inspectors. Unmanned aerial vehicles provide a flexible sensing platform, yet reliable autonomous inspection remains challenging. This paper presents an autonomous quadrotor near-proximity pipeline inspection framework for three-dimensional scenarios based on image-based visual servoing model predictive control (VMPC). A unified predictive model couples quadrotor dynamics with image feature kinematics, enabling direct image-space prediction within the control loop. To address low-rate visual updates, measurement noise, and environmental uncertainties, an extended-state Kalman filtering scheme with image feature prediction (ESKF-PRE) is developed, and the estimated lumped disturbances are incorporated into the VMPC prediction model, yielding the ESKF-PRE-VMPC framework. A terrain-adaptive velocity design is introduced to maintain the desired cruising speed while generating vertical velocity references over unknown terrain slopes without prior terrain information. The framework is validated in high-fidelity Gazebo simulations and real-world experiments. In real-world tests, the proposed method reduces RMSE by 52.63% and 75.04% in pipeline orientation and lateral deviation in the image, respectively, for straight-pipeline inspection without wind, and successfully completes both wind-disturbance and bend-pipeline tasks where baseline method fails. An open-source nano quadrotor is modified for indoor experimentation.

Efficient Distributed Exact Subgraph Matching via GNN-PE: Load Balancing, Cache Optimization, and Query Plan Ranking

Exact subgraph matching on large-scale graphs remains a challenging problem due to high computational complexity and distributed system constraints. Existing GNN-based path embedding (GNN-PE) frameworks achieve efficient exact matching on single machines but lack scalability and optimization for distributed environments. To address this gap, we propose three core innovations to extend GNN-PE to distributed systems: (1) a lightweight dynamic correlation-aware load balancing and hot migration mechanism that fuses multi-dimensional metrics (CPU, communication, memory) and guarantees index consistency; (2) an online incremental learning-based multi-GPU collaborative dynamic caching strategy with heterogeneous GPU adaptation and graph-structure-aware replacement; (3) a query plan ranking method driven by dominance embedding pruning potential (PE-score) that optimizes execution order. Through METIS partitioning, parallel offline preprocessing, and lightweight metadata management, our approach achieves "minimum edge cut + load balancing + non-interruptible queries" in distributed scenarios (tens of machines), significantly improving the efficiency and stability of distributed subgraph matching.

Towards Fine-Grained and Multi-Granular Contrastive Language-Speech Pre-training

Modeling fine-grained speaking styles remains challenging for language-speech representation pre-training, as existing speech-text models are typically trained with coarse captions or task-specific supervision, and scalable fine-grained style annotations are unavailable. We present FCaps, a large-scale dataset with fine-grained free-text style descriptions, encompassing 47k hours of speech and 19M fine-grained captions annotated via a novel end-to-end pipeline that directly grounds detailed captions in audio, thereby avoiding the error propagation caused by LLM-based rewriting in existing cascaded pipelines. Evaluations using LLM-as-a-judge demonstrate that our annotations surpass existing cascaded annotations in terms of correctness, coverage, and naturalness. Building on FCaps, we propose CLSP, a contrastive language-speech pre-trained model that integrates global and fine-grained supervision, enabling unified representations across multiple granularities. Extensive experiments demonstrate that CLSP learns fine-grained and multi-granular speech-text representations that perform reliably across global and fine-grained speech-text retrieval, zero-shot paralinguistic classification, and speech style similarity scoring, with strong alignment to human judgments. Code and dataset are publicly available at https://github.com/yfyeung/CLSP.

Fully compensated and uncompensated ferrimagnetic ferrovalley semiconductors

Altermagnets (AMs) and fully compensated ferrimagnets (FC-FIMs) are emerging classes of magnetic materials that combine the advantages of antiferromagnets and ferromagnets. Here, we elucidate the mechanism behind the uniaxial strain-driven transformation from AM to FC-FIM and find that the accompanying non-relativistic valley polarization is positively correlated with the net magnetic moment between magnetic atoms in opposite spin sublattices. We then propose an uncompensated ferrimagnetic monolayer VCrSeTeO to achieve large intrinsic valley polarization. Spin-orbit coupling (SOC) is shown to further increase the valley polarization to over 400 meV under uniaxial strains and the reason is explained in terms of SOC perturbation theorem. Furthermore, we reveal a distinctive anomalous valley Hall effect in which the valley Hall voltage is reversed within the same valley in ferrimagnet VCrSeTeO. This work proposes a strategy for realizing giant valley polarization and provides theoretical guidance for the application of ferrimagnetic ferrovalley semiconductors derived from altermagnets in valleytronics.

SpeechLLM-as-Judges: Towards General and Interpretable Speech Quality Evaluation

Generative speech technologies are progressing rapidly, but evaluating the perceptual quality of synthetic speech remains a core challenge. Existing methods typically rely on scalar scores or binary decisions, which lack interpretability and generalization across tasks and languages. We present SpeechLLM-as-Judges, a new paradigm for enabling large language models (LLMs) to conduct structured and explanation-based speech quality evaluation. To support this direction, we introduce SpeechEval, a large-scale dataset containing 32,207 multilingual speech clips and 128,754 annotations spanning four tasks: quality assessment, pairwise comparison, improvement suggestion, and deepfake detection. Based on this resource, we develop SQ-LLM, a speech-quality-aware LLM trained with chain-of-thought reasoning and reward optimization to improve capability. Experimental results show that SQ-LLM delivers strong performance across tasks and languages, revealing the potential of this paradigm for advancing speech quality evaluation. The relevant code, models, and data are publicly available at https://github.com/NKU-HLT/SpeechLLM-as-Judges.

OSC: Hardware Efficient W4A4 Quantization via Outlier Separation in Channel Dimension

While 4-bit quantization is essential for high-throughput deployment of Large Language Models, activation outliers often lead to significant accuracy degradation due to the restricted dynamic range of low-bit formats. In this paper, we systematically investigate the spatial distribution of outliers and demonstrate a token-persistent structural clustering effect, where high-magnitude outliers consistently occupy fixed channels across tokens. Building on this insight, we propose OSC, a hardware-efficient framework for outlier suppression. During inference, OSC executes a dual-path computation consisting of a low-precision 4-bit General Matrix Multiplication (GEMM) path and a high-precision 16-bit branch GEMM path. Specifically, OSC uses an offline group-wise strategy to identify the channels where outliers are located and then performs structured sub-tensor extraction to coalesce these scattered activation channels into a compact dense tensor online. This mechanism implements outlier protection through regularized and high-throughput GEMM operations, achieving a seamless fit with modern 4-bit micro-scaling hardware. Furthermore, for the inputs of W2 where outlier clustering is less pronounced, we integrate a fallback strategy to FP8. Evaluation on Qwen3-8B and Qwen3-30B restricts the average accuracy drop to 2.19 and 1.12 points, respectively. Notably, OSC is highly hardware-friendly, achieving a peak speedup of 1.78x over the W8A8 GEMM baseline on a modern AI accelerator.

VFA: Relieving Vector Operations in Flash Attention with Global Maximum Pre-computation

FlashAttention-style online softmax enables exact attention computation with linear memory by streaming score tiles through on-chip memory and maintaining a running maximum and normalizer. However, as attention kernels approach peak tensor-core/cube-core throughput on modern accelerators, non-matmul components of online softmax -- especially per-tile rowmax and rowsum reductions and rescale chains -- can become vector or SIMD limited and dominate latency. This paper revisits FlashAttention and proposes Vector Relieved Flash Attention (VFA), a hardware-friendly method that reduces rowmax-driven updates of the running maximum while retaining the online-softmax structure. VFA initializes the running maximum via a cheap approximation from key-block representations, reorders key-block traversal to prioritize high-impact sink and local blocks, and freezes the maximum for remaining blocks to avoid repeated reductions and rescaling. We further integrate VFA with block-sparse skipping methods such as BLASST to form Vector Relieved Sparse Attention (VSA), which reduces both block count and per-block overhead. Notably, VFA and VSA completely avoid the conditional rescale operation in the update stage used in FA4.0. Extensive evaluations on benchmarks including MMLU and MATH500, together with attention statistics, verify our design: (i) sink and local reordering stabilizes the running maximum early; (ii) simple Q and K block summaries fail due to intra-block heterogeneity; (iii) m-initialization is required when maxima appear in middle blocks. Overall, VFA and VSA efficiently alleviate online-softmax reduction bottlenecks without performance loss. Compared to the C16V32 baseline, C8V32, C4V32 and C4V16 achieve nearly two times speedup on modern hardware while hitting the vector bottleneck. With upcoming architecture improvements, C4V16 will deliver six times speedup by enhancing exponent capacity.

On a level analog of Selberg's result on $S(t)$

Let $S(t,f)=π^{-1}\arg L(1/2+it, f)$, where $f$ is a holomorphic Hecke cusp form of weight $2$ and prime level $q$. In this paper, we establish an unconditional asymptotic formula for the moments of $S(t,f)$, providing a level aspect analogue of Selberg's classical work on $S(t)$. As a consequence, we derive a weighted central limit theorem for the distribution of $S(t,f)$ normalized by $\sqrt{\log\log q}$. To this end, we develop a precise approximation for $S(t,f)$ via a truncated Dirichlet series and employ a weighted zero-density estimate for the corresponding family of $L$-functions.

Strix: Re-thinking NPU Reliability from a System Perspective

DNNs and LLMs increasingly rely on hardware accelerators, including in safety-critical domains, while technology scaling and growing model complexity make hardware faults more frequent. Existing system-level mechanisms typically treat the NPU as a monolithic unit, using coarse-grained replication that incurs prohibitive performance and hardware overheads, leaving a gap between reliability requirements and deployable solutions. To bridge this gap, we present Strix, a full-stack NPU reliability framework on an open-source SoC, spanning micro-architecture, ISA, and programming methods. Strix re-partitions the NPU along the system inference pipeline, identifies dominant failure modes, and attaches targeted safeguards, achieving sub-micro-second fault localisation, error detection, and correction with only 1.04$\times$ slowdown and minimal hardware overhead.

SIM1: Physics-Aligned Simulator as Zero-Shot Data Scaler in Deformable Worlds

Robotic manipulation with deformable objects represents a data-intensive regime in embodied learning, where shape, contact, and topology co-evolve in ways that far exceed the variability of rigids. Although simulation promises relief from the cost of real-world data acquisition, prevailing sim-to-real pipelines remain rooted in rigid-body abstractions, producing mismatched geometry, fragile soft dynamics, and motion primitives poorly suited for cloth interaction. We posit that simulation fails not for being synthetic, but for being ungrounded. To address this, we introduce SIM1, a physics-aligned real-to-sim-to-real data engine that grounds simulation in the physical world. Given limited demonstrations, the system digitizes scenes into metric-consistent twins, calibrates deformable dynamics through elastic modeling, and expands behaviors via diffusion-based trajectory generation with quality filtering. This pipeline transforms sparse observations into scaled synthetic supervision with near-demonstration fidelity. Experiments show that policies trained on purely synthetic data achieve parity with real-data baselines at a 1:15 equivalence ratio, while delivering 90% zero-shot success and 50% generalization gains in real-world deployment. These results validate physics-aligned simulation as scalable supervision for deformable manipulation and a practical pathway for data-efficient policy learning.

UP-NRPA: User Portrait based Nested Rollout Policy Adaptation for Planning with Large Language Models in Goal-oriented Dialogue Systems

To address the challenge that current dialogue policy planning methods struggle to dynamically adapt to diverse user characteristics, this paper proposes a User Portrait based Nested Rollout Policy Adaptation (UP-NRPA) online framework with Large Language Models. In contrast to conventional approaches dependent on model training and require offline reinforcement learning policy models for user groups, UP-NRPA enables dynamic customization of dialogue strategies through an adaptive mechanism. This is achieved by leveraging real-time user feedback alongside personality, preferences, and objectives mapped from the current user portrait, thereby adapting to user characteristics without offline reinforcement learning. In collaborative and non-collaborative dialogue benchmarks, UP-NRPA demonstrated considerable benefits, achieving an impressive 100% success rate in multiple dialogue tasks. Particularly in negotiation tasks, the sale-to-list ratio (SL) increased by 56.41%. This demonstrates that UP-NRPA can adapt to diverse user needs without requiring a training mechanism, enabling the dialogue system to adapt to user characteristics.

Driving Quantum Heat Engines Beyond Classical Limits through Multilevel Coherence

Quantum coherence provides a controllable thermodynamic resource that can raise or lower the effective temperature of a cavity mode, enabling efficiency tuning in quantum heat engines. Here, we derive analytic expressions for the effective engine temperature, demonstrating the enhanced temperature tunability achievable via $N$-level ground-state coherence. We further unify ground- and excited-state coherence within a single analytic framework, revealing their interplay as a mechanism for thermodynamic control. Such quantum resources serve as tunable parameters that enable switching between heating, cooling, and cancellation regimes, driving the effective temperature from near-zero to divergence. Ultimately, our framework connects and generalizes previous models of quantum heat engines, and we identify rubidium atoms as a promising candidate for experimentally realizing these coherence-assisted effects.

BAAI Cardiac Agent: An intelligent multimodal agent for automated reasoning and diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases from cardiac magnetic resonance imaging

Cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) is a cornerstone for diagnosing cardiovascular disease. However, it remains underutilized due to complex, time-consuming interpretation across multi-sequences, phases, quantitative measures that heavily reliant on specialized expertise. Here, we present BAAI Cardiac Agent, a multimodal intelligent system designed for end-to-end CMR interpretation. The agent integrates specialized cardiac expert models to perform automated segmentation of cardiac structures, functional quantification, tissue characterization and disease diagnosis, and generates structured clinical reports within a unified workflow. Evaluated on CMR datasets from two hospitals (2413 patients) spanning 7-types of major cardiovascular diseases, the agent achieved an area under the receiver-operating-characteristic curve exceeding 0.93 internally and 0.81 externally. In the task of estimating left ventricular function indices, the results generated by this system for core parameters such as ejection fraction, stroke volume, and left ventricular mass are highly consistent with clinical reports, with Pearson correlation coefficients all exceeding 0.90. The agent outperformed state-of-the-art models in segmentation and diagnostic tasks, and generated clinical reports showing high concordance with expert radiologists (six readers across three experience levels). By dynamically orchestrating expert models for coordinated multimodal analysis, this agent framework enables accurate, efficient CMR interpretation and highlights its potentials for complex clinical imaging workflows. Nonlinear Magnetic Orbital Hall Effect Induced by Spin-Orbit Coupling

Electrical readout of 180$^\circ$ switching in strictly compensated collinear antiferromagnets remains a major challenge in antiferromagnetic spintronics. Electrical writing of perpendicularly magnetized ferromagnets by out-of-plane orbital torque remains an important challenge in orbitronics. In this work, we propose a second-order nonlinear magnetic orbital Hall effect in the source antiferromagnet as a simultaneous recipe for both difficulties. This orbitronics effect is induced by spin-orbit coupling and is odd in the Néel vector, thus is a unique effect that integrates both functionalities via electric control of the Néel vector in the source antiferromagnet. Our first-principles calculations in CuMnAs predict significant non-perturbative orbital effects from spin-orbit coupling, with a orbital Berry-curvature dipole mechanism. These findings unveil new possibilities opened by topological antiferromagnetic orbitronics.

Measuring Prosody Diversity in Zero-Shot TTS: A New Metric, Benchmark, and Exploration

Prosody diversity is essential for achieving naturalness and expressiveness in zero-shot text-to-speech (TTS). However, frequently used acoustic metrics capture only partial views of prosodic variation and correlate poorly with human perception, leaving the problem of reliably quantifying prosody diversity underexplored. To bridge this gap, we introduce ProsodyEval, a prosody diversity assessment dataset that provides Prosody Mean Opinion Score (PMOS) alongside conventional acoustic metrics. ProsodyEval comprises 1000 speech samples derived from 7 mainstream TTS systems, with 2000 human ratings. Building on this, we propose the Discretized Speech Weighted Edit Distance (DS-WED), a new objective diversity metric that quantifies prosodic variation via weighted edit distance over semantic tokens. Experiments on ProsodyEval show that DS-WED achieves substantially higher correlation with human judgments than existing acoustic metrics, while remaining highly robust in speech tokenization from HuBERT and WavLM. Leveraging DS-WED, we benchmark state-of-the-art open-source TTS systems on LibriSpeech test-clean and Seed-TTS test-en, and further explorations uncover several factors that influence prosody diversity, including generative modeling paradigms, duration control, and reinforcement learning. Moreover, we find that current large audio language models (LALMs) remain limited in capturing prosodic variations. Audio samples are available at https://prosodyeval.github.io.

Tac2Real: Reliable and GPU Visuotactile Simulation for Online Reinforcement Learning and Zero-Shot Real-World Deployment

Visuotactile sensors are indispensable for contact-rich robotic manipulation tasks. However, policy learning with tactile feedback in simulation, especially for online reinforcement learning (RL), remains a critical challenge, as it demands a delicate balance between physics fidelity and computational efficiency. To address this challenge, we present Tac2Real, a lightweight visuotactile simulation framework designed to enable efficient online RL training. Tac2Real integrates the Preconditioned Nonlinear Conjugate Gradient Incremental Potential Contact (PNCG-IPC) method with a multi-node, multi-GPU high-throughput parallel simulation architecture, which can generate marker displacement fields at interactive rates. Meanwhile, we propose a systematic approach, TacAlign, to narrow both structured and stochastic sources of domain gap, ensuring a reliable zero-shot sim-to-real transfer. We further evaluate Tac2Real on the contact-rich peg insertion task. The zero-shot transfer results achieve a high success rate in the real-world scenario, verifying the effectiveness and robustness of our framework. JW-VL: A Vision-Language Model for Solar Physics

Vision-Language Models (VLMs) have achieved breakthrough progress in general knowledge domains, yet adaptation to specialized scientific fields remains challenging due to multimodal representation shifts and the limited integration of domain-specific knowledge. To address the limitations of general-purpose VLMs when applied to solar physics image recognition, analysis, and reasoning, we propose JinWu Vision-Language (JW-VL), a fine-tuned foundation model tailored for solar physics. The model integrates multi-wavelength observational data from both space-based and ground-based telescopes, encompassing representative spectral bands spanning the photosphere, chromosphere, and corona. Built upon a cross-modal alignment knowledge distillation framework, JW-VL learns a joint visual-semantic embedding that enables end-to-end modeling from raw solar observational data to downstream tasks, including solar image recognition, solar activity analysis via image-based question answering, and optical character recognition (OCR), while also supporting the construction of a multi-band, cross-instrument solar image benchmark dataset. Furthermore, as a demonstration of interdisciplinary applicability, we developed a "Daily Solar Activity Reports" agent comprising core modules for solar activity level assessment, significant active region characterization, magnetic field complexity analysis, potential space weather impact assessment, and identifying active regions for targeted observation. While JW-VL may not yet meet the rigorous, high-precision demands of operational solar physics, it bridges raw observations and diverse downstream tasks, establishing a valuable methodological framework for applying multimodal deep learning to the field.
