Agentic AI-Empowered Wireless Agent Networks With Semantic-Aware Collaboration via ILAC

The rapid development of agentic artificial intelligence (AI) is driving future wireless networks to evolve from passive data pipes into intelligent collaborative ecosystems under the emerging paradigm of integrated learning and communication (ILAC). However, realizing efficient agentic collaboration faces challenges not only in handling semantic redundancy but also in the lack of an integrated mechanism for communication, computation, and control. To address this, we propose a wireless agent network (WAN) framework that orchestrates a progressive knowledge aggregation mechanism. Specifically, we formulate the aggregation process as a joint energy minimization problem where the agents perform semantic compression to eliminate redundancy, optimize transmission power to deliver semantic payloads, and adjust physical trajectories to proactively enhance channel qualities. To solve this problem, we develop a hierarchical algorithm that integrates inner-level resource optimization with outer-level topology evolution. Theoretically, we reveal that incorporating a potential field into the topology evolution effectively overcomes the short-sightedness of greedy matching, providing a mathematically rigorous heuristic for long-term energy minimization. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed framework achieves superior energy efficiency and scalability compared to conventional benchmarks, validating the efficacy of semantic-aware collaboration in dynamic environments.

On Performance of Fluid Antenna Relay (FAR)-Assisted AAV-NOMA Wireless Network

In this paper, we investigate the performance of a fluid antenna relay (FAR)-assisted downlink communication system utilizing non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA). The FAR, which integrates a fluid antenna system (FAS), is equipped on an autonomous aerial vehicle (AAV), and introduces extra degrees of freedom to improve the performance of the system. The transmission is divided into a first phase from the base station (BS) to the users and the FAR, and a second phase where the FAR forwards the signal using amplify-and-forward (AF) or decode-and-forward (DF) relaying to reduce the outage probability (OP) for the user maintaining weaker channel conditions. To analyze the OP performance of the weak user, Copula theory and the Gaussian copula function are employed to model the statistical distribution of the FAS channels. Analytical expressions for weak user's OP are derived for both the AF and the DF schemes. Simulation results validate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme, showing that it consistently outperforms benchmark schemes without the FAR. In addition, numerical simulations also demonstrate the values of the relaying scheme selection parameter under different FAR positions and communication outage thresholds.

Towards Semantic-based Agent Communication Networks: Vision, Technologies, and Challenges

The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) identifies "Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Communication" as one of six key usage scenarios for 6G. Agentic AI, characterized by its ca-pabilities in multi-modal environmental sensing, complex task coordination, and continuous self-optimization, is anticipated to drive the evolution toward agent-based communication net-works. Semantic communication (SemCom), in turn, has emerged as a transformative paradigm that offers task-oriented efficiency, enhanced reliability in complex environments, and dynamic adaptation in resource allocation. However, comprehensive reviews that trace their technologi-cal evolution in the contexts of agent communications remain scarce. Addressing this gap, this paper systematically explores the role of semantics in agent communication networks. We first propose a novel architecture for semantic-based agent communication networks, structured into three layers, four entities, and four stages. Three wireless agent network layers define the logical structure and organization of entity interactions: the intention extraction and understanding layer, the semantic encoding and processing layer, and the distributed autonomy and collabora-tion layer. Across these layers, four AI agent entities, namely embodied agents, communication agents, network agents, and application agents, coexist and perform distinct tasks. Furthermore, four operational stages of semantic-enhanced agentic AI systems, namely perception, memory, reasoning, and action, form a cognitive cycle guiding agent behavior. Based on the proposed architecture, we provide a comprehensive review of the state-of-the-art on how semantics en-hance agent communication networks. Finally, we identify key challenges and present potential solutions to offer directional guidance for future research in this emerging field.

Optimal Compilation of Syndrome Extraction Circuits for General Quantum LDPC Codes

Quantum error correcting codes (QECC) are essential for constructing large-scale quantum computers that deliver faithful results. As strong competitors to the conventional surface code, quantum low-density parity-check (qLDPC) codes are emerging rapidly: they offer high encoding rates while maintaining reasonable physical-qubit connectivity requirements. Despite the existence of numerous code constructions, a notable gap persists between these designs -- some of which remain purely theoretical -- and their circuit-level deployment. In this work, we propose Auto-Stabilizer-Check (ASC), a universal compilation framework that generates depth-optimal syndrome extraction circuits for arbitrary qLDPC codes. ASC leverages the sparsity of parity-check matrices and exploits the commutativity of X and Z stabilizer measurement subroutines to search for optimal compilation schemes. By iteratively invoking an SMT solver, ASC returns a depth-optimal solution if a satisfying assignment is found, and a near-optimal solution in cases of solver timeouts. Notably, ASC provides the first definitive answer to one of IBM's open problems: for all instances of bivariate bicycle (BB) code reported in their work, our compiler certifies that no depth-6 syndrome extraction circuit exists. Furthermore, by integrating ASC with an end-to-end evaluation framework -- one that assesses different compilation settings under a circuit-level noise model -- ASC reduces circuit depth by approximately 50% and achieves an average 7x-8x suppression of the logical error rate for general qLDPC codes, compared with as-soon-as-possible (ASAP) and coloration-based scheduling. ASC thus substantially reduces manual design overhead and demonstrates its strong potential to serve as a key component in accelerating hardware deployment of qLDPC codes.

Prioritizing Gradient Sign Over Modulus: An Importance-Aware Framework for Wireless Federated Learning

Wireless federated learning (FL) facilitates collaborative training of artificial intelligence (AI) models to support ubiquitous intelligent applications at the wireless edge. However, the inherent constraints of limited wireless resources inevitably lead to unreliable communication, which poses a significant challenge to wireless FL. To overcome this challenge, we propose Sign-Prioritized FL (SP-FL), a novel framework that improves wireless FL by prioritizing the transmission of important gradient information through uneven resource allocation. Specifically, recognizing the importance of descent direction in model updating, we transmit gradient signs in individual packets and allow their reuse for gradient descent if the remaining gradient modulus cannot be correctly recovered. To further improve the reliability of transmission of important information, we formulate a hierarchical resource allocation problem based on the importance disparity at both the packet and device levels, optimizing bandwidth allocation across multiple devices and power allocation between sign and modulus packets. To make the problem tractable, the one-step convergence behavior of SP-FL, which characterizes data importance at both levels in an explicit form, is analyzed. We then propose an alternating optimization algorithm to solve this problem using the Newton-Raphson method and successive convex approximation (SCA). Simulation results confirm the superiority of SP-FL, especially in resource-constrained scenarios, demonstrating up to 9.96\% higher testing accuracy on the CIFAR-10 dataset compared to existing methods.

Energy Efficient Federated Learning with Hyperdimensional Computing (HDC)

This paper investigates the problem of minimizing total energy consumption for secure federated learning (FL) in wireless edge networks, a key paradigm for decentralized big data analytics. To tackle the high computational cost and privacy challenges of processing large-scale distributed data with conventional neural networks, we propose an FL with hyperdimensional computing and differential privacy (FL-HDC-DP) framework. Each edge device employs hyperdimensional computing (HDC) for lightweight local training and applies differential privacy (DP) noise to protect transmitted model updates. The total energy consumption is minimized through a joint optimization of the HDC dimension, transmit power, and CPU frequency. An efficient hybrid algorithm is developed, combining an outer enumeration search for HDC dimensions with an inner one-dimensional search for resource allocation. Simulation results show that the proposed framework achieves up to 83.3% energy reduction compared with baseline schemes, while maintaining high accuracy and faster convergence.

A Secure and Private Distributed Bayesian Federated Learning Design

Distributed Federated Learning (DFL) enables decentralized model training across large-scale systems without a central parameter server. However, DFL faces three critical challenges: privacy leakage from honest-but-curious neighbors, slow convergence due to the lack of central coordination, and vulnerability to Byzantine adversaries aiming to degrade model accuracy. To address these issues, we propose a novel DFL framework that integrates Byzantine robustness, privacy preservation, and convergence acceleration. Within this framework, each device trains a local model using a Bayesian approach and independently selects an optimal subset of neighbors for posterior exchange. We formulate this neighbor selection as an optimization problem to minimize the global loss function under security and privacy constraints. Solving this problem is challenging because devices only possess partial network information, and the complex coupling between topology, security, and convergence remains unclear. To bridge this gap, we first analytically characterize the trade-offs between dynamic connectivity, Byzantine detection, privacy levels, and convergence speed. Leveraging these insights, we develop a fully distributed Graph Neural Network (GNN)-based Reinforcement Learning (RL) algorithm. This approach enables devices to make autonomous connection decisions based on local observations. Simulation results demonstrate that our method achieves superior robustness and efficiency with significantly lower overhead compared to traditional security and privacy schemes.

Multi-View Wireless Sensing via Conditional Generative Learning: Framework and Model Design

In this paper, we incorporate physical knowledge into learning-based high-precision target sensing using the multi-view channel state information (CSI) between multiple base stations (BSs) and user equipment (UEs). Such kind of multi-view sensing problem can be naturally cast into a conditional generation framework. To this end, we design a bipartite neural network architecture, the first part of which uses an elaborately designed encoder to fuse the latent target features embedded in the multi-view CSI, and then the second uses them as conditioning inputs of a powerful generative model to guide the target's reconstruction. Specifically, the encoder is designed to capture the physical correlation between the CSI and the target, and also be adaptive to the numbers and positions of BS-UE pairs. Therein the view-specific nature of CSI is assimilated by introducing a spatial positional embedding scheme, which exploits the structure of electromagnetic(EM)-wave propagation channels. Finally, a conditional diffusion model with a weighted loss is employed to generate the target's point cloud from the fused features. Extensive numerical results demonstrate that the proposed generative multi-view (Gen-MV) sensing framework exhibits excellent flexibility and significant performance improvement on the reconstruction quality of target's shape and EM properties.

Reconfigurable Quantum Instruction Set Computers for High Performance Attainable on Hardware

The performance of current quantum hardware is severely limited. While expanding the quantum ISA with high-fidelity, expressive basis gates is a key path forward, it imposes significant gate calibration overhead and complicates compiler optimization. As a result, even though more powerful ISAs have been designed, their use remains largely conceptual rather than practical. To move beyond these hurdles, we introduce the concept of "reconfigurable quantum instruction set computers" (ReQISC), which incorporates: (1) a unified microarchitecture capable of directly implementing arbitrary 2Q gates equivalently, i.e., SU(4) modulo 1Q rotations, with theoretically optimal gate durations given any 2Q coupling Hamiltonians; (2) a compilation framework tailored to ReQISC primitives for end-to-end synthesis and optimization, comprising a program-aware pass that refines high-level representations, a program-agnostic pass for aggressive circuit-level optimization, and an SU(4)-aware routing pass that minimizes hardware mapping overhead. We detail the hardware implementation to demonstrate the feasibility, in terms of both pulse control and calibration of this superior gate scheme on realistic hardware. By leveraging the expressivity of SU(4) and the time minimality realized by the underlying microarchitecture, the SU(4)-based ISA achieves remarkable performance, with a 4.97-fold reduction in average pulse duration to implement arbitrary 2Q gates, compared to the usual CNOT/CZ scheme on mainstream flux-tunable transmons. Supported by the end-to-end compiler, ReQISC outperforms the conventional CNOT-ISA, SOTA compiler, and pulse implementation counterparts, in significantly reducing 2Q gate counts, circuit depth, pulse duration, qubit mapping overhead, and program fidelity losses. For the first time, ReQISC makes the theoretical benefits of continuous ISAs practically feasible.

Generalizable and Robust Beam Prediction for 6G Networks: An Deep-Learning Framework with Positioning Feature Fusion

Beamforming (BF) is essential for enhancing system capacity in fifth generation (5G) and beyond wireless networks, yet exhaustive beam training in ultra-massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems incurs substantial overhead. To address this challenge, we propose a deep learning based framework that leverages position-aware features to improve beam prediction accuracy while reducing training costs. The proposed approach uses spatial coordinate labels to supervise a position extraction branch and integrates the resulting representations with beam-domain features through a feature fusion module. A dual-branch RegNet architecture is adopted to jointly learn location related and communication features for beam prediction. Two fusion strategies, namely adaptive fusion and adversarial fusion, are introduced to enable efficient feature integration. The proposed framework is evaluated on datasets generated by the DeepMIMO simulator across four urban scenarios at 3.5 GHz following 3GPP specifications, where both reference signal received power and user equipment location information are available. Simulation results under both in-distribution and out-of-distribution settings demonstrate that the proposed approach consistently outperforms traditional baselines and achieves more accurate and robust beam prediction by effectively incorporating positioning information.

Physics-Inspired Target Shape Detection and Reconstruction in mmWave Communication Systems

The integration of sensing and communication (ISAC) is an essential function of future wireless systems. Due to its large available bandwidth, millimeter-wave (mmWave) ISAC systems are able to achieve high sensing accuracy. In this paper, we consider the multiple base-station (BS) collaborative sensing problem in a multi-input multi-output (MIMO) orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) mmWave communication system. Our aim is to sense a remote target shape with the collected signals which consist of both the reflection and scattering signals. We first characterize the mmWave's scattering and reflection effects based on the Lambertian scattering model. Then we apply the periodogram technique to obtain rough scattering point detection, and further incorporate the subspace method to achieve more precise scattering and reflection point detection. Based on these, a reconstruction algorithm based on Hough Transform and principal component analysis (PCA) is designed for a single convex polygon target scenario. To improve the accuracy and completeness of the reconstruction results, we propose a method to further fuse the scattering and reflection points. Extensive simulation results validate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithms.

Channel Extrapolation for MIMO Systems with the Assistance of Multi-path Information Induced from Channel State Information

Acquiring channel state information (CSI) through traditional methods, such as channel estimation, is increasingly challenging for the emerging sixth generation (6G) mobile networks due to high overhead. To address this issue, channel extrapolation techniques have been proposed to acquire complete CSI from a limited number of known CSIs. To improve extrapolation accuracy, environmental information, such as visual images or radar data, has been utilized, which poses challenges including additional hardware, privacy and multi-modal alignment concerns. To this end, this paper proposes a novel channel extrapolation framework by leveraging environment-related multi-path characteristics induced directly from CSI without integrating additional modalities. Specifically, we propose utilizing the multi-path characteristics in the form of power-delay profile (PDP), which is acquired using a CSI-to-PDP module. CSI-to-PDP module is trained in an AE-based framework by reconstructing the PDPs and constraining the latent low-dimensional features to represent the CSI. We further extract the total power & power-weighted delay of all the identified paths in PDP as the multi-path information. Building on this, we proposed a MAE architecture trained in a self-supervised manner to perform channel extrapolation. Unlike standard MAE approaches, our method employs separate encoders to extract features from the masked CSI and the multi-path information, which are then fused by a cross-attention module. Extensive simulations demonstrate that this framework improves extrapolation performance dramatically, with a minor increase in inference time (around 0.1 ms). Furthermore, our model shows strong generalization capabilities, particularly when only a small portion of the CSI is known, outperforming existing benchmarks.

One-Step Generative Channel Estimation via Average Velocity Field

Generative models have shown immense potential for wireless communication by learning complex channel data distributions. However, the iterative denoising process associated with these models imposes a significant challenge in latency-sensitive wireless communication scenarios, particularly in channel estimation. To address this challenge, we propose a novel solution for one-step generative channel estimation. Our approach bypasses the time-consuming iterative steps of conventional models by directly learning the average velocity field. Through extensive simulations, we validate the effectiveness of our proposed method over existing state-of-the-art diffusion-based approach. Specifically, our scheme achieves a normalized mean squared error up to 2.65 dB lower than the diffusion method and reduces latency by around 90%, demonstrating the potential of our method to enhance channel estimation performance.

Energy-Efficient Probabilistic Semantic Communication Over Visible Light Networks With Rate Splitting

Visible light communication (VLC) is emerging as a key technology for future wireless communication systems due to its unique physical-layer advantages over traditional radio-frequency (RF)-based systems. However, its integration with higher-layer techniques, such as semantic communication, remains underexplored. This paper investigates the energy efficiency maximization problem in a resource-constrained VLC-based probabilistic semantic communication (PSCom) system. In the considered model, light-emitting diode (LED) transmitters perform semantic compression to reduce data size, which incurs additional computation overhead. The compressed semantic information is transmitted to the users for semantic inference using a shared knowledge base that requires periodic updates to ensure synchronization. In the PSCom system, the knowledge base is represented by probabilistic graphs. To enable simultaneous transmission of both knowledge and information data, rate splitting multiple access (RSMA) is employed. The optimization problem focuses on maximizing energy efficiency by jointly optimizing transmit beamforming, direct current (DC) bias, common rate allocation, and semantic compression ratio, while accounting for both communication and computation costs. To solve this problem, an alternating optimization algorithm based on successive convex approximation (SCA) and Dinkelbach method is developed. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Fluid Antenna Relay (FAR)-assisted Communication with Hybrid Relaying Scheme Selection

In this paper, we investigate a fluid antenna relay (FAR)-assisted communication system with hybrid relaying scheme selection. By leveraging statistical channel state information (CSI) and distribution characteristics of fluid antenna system (FAS), we approximate the outage probability (OP) with different relaying schemes utilizing a Gaussian copula-based method. Each relay node follows the OP-minimized principle to choose the forwarding schemes. To reduce self-interference and avoid multi-user interference, half-duplex relays and frequency division multiple access schemes are considered, respectively. On this basis, we formulate a sum-rate maximization problem to mitigate the rate loss introduced by the half-duplex mode. To solve this problem, we first transform the original nonconvex problem into a power control optimization problem by obtaining the closed form of bandwidth allocation and substituting it into the original problem. Then, we solve the power control optimization problem with a low complexity method. Simulation results verify the effectiveness of our proposed algorithm to improve the sum rate of the system.

Codebook Design for Limited Feedback in Near-Field XL-MIMO Systems

In this paper, we study efficient codebook design for limited feedback in extremely large-scale multiple-input-multiple-output (XL-MIMO) frequency division duplexing (FDD) systems. It is worth noting that existing codebook designs for XL-MIMO, such as polar-domain codebook, have not well taken into account user (location) distribution in practice, thereby incurring excessive feedback overhead. To address this issue, we propose in this paper a novel and efficient feedback codebook tailored to user distribution. To this end, we first consider a typical scenario where users are uniformly distributed within a specific polar-region, based on which a sum-rate maximization problem is formulated to jointly optimize angle-range samples and bit allocation among angle/range feedback. This problem is challenging to solve due to the lack of a closed-form expression for the received power in terms of angle and range samples. By leveraging a Voronoi partitioning approach, we show that uniform angle sampling is optimal for received power maximization. For more challenging range sampling design, we obtain a tight lower-bound on the received power and show that geometric sampling, where the ratio between adjacent samples is constant, can maximize the lower bound and thus serves as a high-quality suboptimal solution. We then extend the proposed framework to accommodate more general non-uniform user distribution via an alternating sampling method. Furthermore, theoretical analysis reveals that as the array size increases, the optimal allocation of feedback bits increasingly favors range samples at the expense of angle samples. Finally, numerical results validate the superior rate performance and robustness of the proposed codebook design under various system setups, achieving significant gains over benchmark schemes, including the widely used polar-domain codebook.

ICWLM: A Multi-Task Wireless Large Model via In-Context Learning

The rapid evolution of wireless communication technologies, particularly massive multiple-input multiple-output (mMIMO) and millimeter-wave (mmWave), introduces significant network complexity and computational demands. Significant research efforts have been made to improve physical layer performance by resorting to deep learning (DL) methods, which, however, are usually task-specific and struggle with data scarcity and generalization. To address these challenges, we propose a novel In-Context Wireless Large Model (ICWLM), a wireless-native foundation model designed for simultaneous multi-task learning at the physical layer. Unlike conventional methods that adapt wireless data to pre-trained large language models (LLMs), ICWLM is trained directly on large-scale, mixed wireless datasets from scratch. It jointly solves multiple classical physical layer problems, including multi-user precoding (sum-rate maximization and max-min SINR) and channel prediction. A key innovation of ICWLM is its utilization of in-context learning (ICL), enabling the model to adapt to varying system configurations and channel conditions with minimal demonstration pairs, eliminating the need for extensive retraining. Extensive simulation results demonstrate that ICWLM achieves competitive performance compared to task-specific methods while exhibiting remarkable generalization capabilities to unseen system configurations. This work offers a promising paradigm for developing unified and adaptive AI models for future wireless networks, potentially reducing deployment complexity and enhancing intelligent resource management.

SurgeQ: A Hybrid Framework for Ultra-Fast Quantum Processor Design and Crosstalk-Aware Circuit Execution

Executing quantum circuits on superconducting platforms requires balancing the trade-off between gate errors and crosstalk. To address this, we introduce SurgeQ, a hardware-software co-design strategy consisting of a design phase and an execution phase, to achieve accelerated circuit execution and improve overall program fidelity. SurgeQ employs coupling-strengthened, faster two-qubit gates while mitigating their increased crosstalk through a tailored scheduling strategy. With detailed consideration of composite noise models, we establish a systematic evaluation pipeline to identify the optimal coupling strength. Evaluations on a comprehensive suite of real-world benchmarks show that SurgeQ generally achieves higher fidelity than up-to-date baselines, and remains effective in combating exponential fidelity decay, achieving up to a million-fold improvement in large-scale circuits.
